The fact the both Audi and Toyota have achieved so much success in Rally and WEC just shows the ability of both manufacturers to consistently innovate and optimize new ideas and technology
toyota never did well at le mans against real competition, if they kept winning the race in hypercar after everyone started joining I'd agree, but that hasn't happened
@@houseking9211 That is not very true, although no win at Le Mans to show for it they were at the same pace as the Porsche's and the Audi's, on less budget. Even lost the race once in the last 6 minutes(part of racing though). They did won the WEC btw. And many people forget that many of Audi's win are against non-competition too, much like Toyota's. Peugeot was also on a much lesser budget and made the Audi's work very hard for it, and even beat them once.
Hopefully they continue that success in F1, but it’s gonna take a lot to bring Sauber to the front. It’s also cool that Sauber is going to have ran all 3 German brands engines in its history.
I really hope that. Sauber will do well. They were always struggling in F1 as they are the smallest team. But these teams make the sport interesting. Lets hope they have many years to go.
Fantastic story yet again! The factual basis of the Audi success at Le Mans with the *diesel, and then the hybrid, is like a dream in itself, but then with the brilliant narration, from Marty's DeLorean all the way to Socrates (chickens before they hatch), makes it all well worth the watching. If I might risk being too personal as an Australian who raced minibikes in the '70s as a kid and went surfing in the '80s as a teenager, there is a reminiscent similarity between your accent and the narrations of On Any Sunday and Endless Summer. It's a US kind of thing, but more west coast like The Beach Boys than east coast. Combined with the subtle humour, it just makes the whole show more fun to watch. Thanks again. * previous episode which was also a fantastic story.
They had plans to, but dropped them once they decided they were going to do F1. The rumor is their WEC and IMSA car was going to be released for a shakedown within a few weeks of the F1 announcement.
I see them doing what BMW as a works team and just pulling out if the opportunity allows it. If they don't put up good performances and do it quickly I can see the board scrapping the program in short order. Especially when VW is contemplating closing plants and laying off people.
Yuu Takasaki's Audi R10 TDI, AUDI R15 TDI, and Coco Hayashi's Audi R18 TDI 2011 are my all time favourite Audi Hybrid LMP1 Racecars. It also appears in GT5 to Project CARS 2 (Not Audi R15).
About 0:39 I'd argue that the "five blades razors" are actually a downgrade compared to classical double edge safety razor. 1. they clog easily if you shave a few days worth of stubble at a time. 2. They make you have a lot more ingrown hairs (speaking from experience) 3. if you use one cartridge more than 2-3 times they are very harsh on the skin. 4. they are much harder to clean 5. they are a lot more expensive (a cartridge of 4 is 10x the price of a 10 pack of traditional razors so 25x increase per razor blade) 6. plastic waste 7. they are proprietary 8. they are next to useless for stylizing While switching to the classical razor can be daunting, after adjustment period and unlearning to forcefully drag the razor across the skin, I can't recommend it enough.
The names of the people? Or cars or places, what in particular? The way this is narrated gives me heavy TTS vibes. The cadence and rhythm of the narration is just too consistent to sound human. TTS often mispronounces names of people, not so much places.
@@marisasob yeah that's fair. To my Canadian ears the french pronunciation sounded pretty good. But I don't speak French very well, Canadian French or French French.
Great video production and great technical explanations. The one problem I've allways had with calling each of these cars a Audi, Peugeot or any other name, is they are nothing like the car manufacturers actually make, indeed the people who build them do not work on the cars sold to us public.
Next time you make a video with torque numbers at least dont make the rookie mistake of putting wrong measuring units for torque....N.m is newton times meter as its the amount of force applied at the end of 1 meter lever arm and LB.ft not LB/ft as it also is a force at the end of a 1 foot lever arm. Also Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich is pronounced Ullrick not Ullrich Other wise a great video
So much film of the 2016 R18, which was only one of the R18's and it wasn't particularly successful. This is a very good looking video, but so much is recycled and repeated. And it jumps about with the themes all the time. Sounds like a press release.
Didn’t you forgot the Bentley? :) BTW I didn’t loved watching this area of lemans lagging of competition and manufacturers. This time 2000-2022 was a Desaster for the endurance sport.

HAAS only have 250 employees, and less sponsors, so in that context, they are bigger than HAAS

One of the greatest lmp cars of all time. Sadly we won't see this crazy developmental war anytime soon because now BOP becomes the rule.
Audi should race in WEC & IMSA with a hyper car. I would love to see them dominate the other manufacturers.

When you said we evolved from monkeys to social media influencers I cringed so hard... That's not evolution at all 🤣
Haha, that was the joke…!

Some of the technology developed by the manufacturer in these races, F1 included, does make its way to production vehicles.
