Crazy to think that Mike was around when all of these songs were popular. We see these songs as classics, but they were just the latest pop tunes to him.
To lots of us. He actually surprised me by knowing a lot of the newer stuff I was totally clueless about. I dropped out of the contest around the 2000's.
@@michaelhoward142 They both strike me as men who keep their fingers on the pulse, especially since they run a TH-cam reaction channel and seem to spend a lot of time with their children.
Mike's younger than I am, and I was born in 1959, so I know the oldest songs because of my older sisters playing them over and over when I was a kid. I kept up decently until about 2010 or so, then bounced back a bit in the later parts of that decade because of spending so much time with my great-niece. (She LOOOOOVED Oldtown Road) but then after 2020 I was lost again because her mama has worked from home since Covid and we weren't needed to get her off to school, etc. :)
Careless Whisper IS one of the best international pop songs of all time. Although, I think that Freedom by Wham (not the later version by George Micheal, but that one is still popular) is even a little bit bigger. And yes, I know that George Michael was one half of Wham with Andrew Ridgeley. 😉
Celine Dion didn't want to sing "My Heart Will Go On" - she didn't think it would go anywhere. Her manager begged her to do it. To her surprise (and probably dismay) it became one of her most famous songs.
I remember how shocked everyone was when they saw the music video. Many thought he was a big black dude, and here’s this skinny ginger that looks like he’s about 14 😂
It's never too late to start. I was born in 1989 and I love a lot of my parent's music. I use to shit on it a bit as a teen, until I realized it was actually good and I should stop being a stubborn twat lol
I like this because we got understand Mike's background and Daz. We need more Mike, perhaps movies? Best Oscar or BAFTA nominated and actors or whatever category by year ?
Big-time music lover here especially from my era of the 60s70s and all the classic hits. I'm a novice music video maker (Channel RetroSongHits and ClassicRock&Reel) Don't have channels for monetary profit but pure joy of music and my hobby. Born in '62 and honestly think God designed my DNA out musical notes. Always had to have music playing. Love this video Mike and Daz ~ Do more "Guess The Song"
Everytime I hear "Believe" by Cher it reminds me of the scene from Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell and Danny McBride where they find that vibrating wall and they put their hands on it while singing that song. Then Danny tells the girl she should sit on it. 🤣🤣
I knew every song from 1960-2000, then remember hearing some of the songs from 2001-2024, but like the guys couldn't always name song/artist until after revealed. 🎶😖
I got 35/65 lol 1 - 60s, 1 - 70s, 4.5m- 80s (Forgot George Michaels name smh), 8 - 90s, 9- 00s (Didn't know the year 2000 song or artist), 9.5 - 10s (Forgot Beiber's song name), 2 - 20s And that George Michael's record is an elite record lol.
Sorry to hear about your Dad, Darren. I know you've mentioned you guys weren't all that close, but it's always a sad feeling losing a parent, regardless.
I loved this… You guys rocked it I got a lot of those and I will tell you George Michael is so iconic… It’s amazing but memories come back when you hear these songs
It's funny how many songs, in my head I'm singing "Weird" Al Yankovic's. Except Faith Hill's, Breathe. For that I'm singing Cledus T. I haven't ever heard of most of the ppl after 2010, I did terrible overall, even when I knew the song I either didn't know the name of it or who sang it though I knew the words
I'm so bad with the song names. Man, the 60's-70's had such great music. I feel like the 80's was kinda "meh", 90's was great (not sure about the song choices though), early 2000's was great. Then it all went to SHIT. And before anyone calls me a Boomer, I was born in '89.
i was born in late 1990 so i know some of the early 90's songs but i was young. i know a bit of the 80's songs, i'm more of a 2000's thru to now i listen to metal only i don't listen to anything else
Careless Whisper...one of the sexiest songs ever, and the video was one of the 1st on MTV and it was filmed right here in Miami - that saxophone !!! Sex sex sex !!!
Seether did a cover of careless whisper that imo blows the original out of the water... Might b worth doing a reaction to to c how u think it stacks up to the original
female artists of today I just don't know anymore. Doja Cat, SZA, Cardi B, they just all sound the same to me. Maybe I am just getting old and stopped paying attention. Not to say their music is bad, as I do enjoy the songs. I just can't be bothered to learn the names of the songs or the artists.
This list became TOTALLY unintersting when they hit the 2000s and onward...didnt recognize anything..and didnt want to either..its all rubbish in my view..the quality there then...
Mike just earned a place in the blunt rotation
fr hes tapped in📍💯
Mike is a legend
21:05 "They all sound the same" Precisely why I stopped listening to the charts
Please do more of these kind of quizzes. This was pretty entertaining.
And, mike is the king of 60's, 70's and 80's music. Props.
I really love when you guys pause to tell personal stories related to what you're watching. Daz always has a story to share.

Well, that was actually a lot of fun

Celine Dion didn't want to sing "My Heart Will Go On" - she didn't think it would go anywhere. Her manager begged her to do it. To her surprise (and probably dismay) it became one of her most famous songs.
i'm taking mike to music trivia night.
For real!
The best thing about Rick Astley is that he's a massive Red! hahaha
I remember how shocked everyone was when they saw the music video. Many thought he was a big black dude, and here’s this skinny ginger that looks like he’s about 14 😂
I was born in 74 and I was good all the way up until 2010 or so. After that I have no idea who sings what but they all sound familiar.😂
didnt think yall would get the last one but that song is massive right now lol
You guys did great
Jesus, i've never listen to any of this 60's and 70's songs (was born in 2001 lol) but they sound awesome
I was born in 1997 and my Parents and Grandparents fed me a diet of 60s and 70s music.

Mike you rock!!!!
Something wierd happened with the music starting in the late 90s
I like this because we got understand Mike's background and Daz. We need more Mike, perhaps movies? Best Oscar or BAFTA nominated and actors or whatever category by year ?
Im 29 but im guessing more rights on these tunes than any other era, I love the 60-70s british 'invation'
This was awesome
Yeah, love me some trivia!
You should've kept this all old-school. I can never remember names. You 2 spot on
WEell done Mikie
Mike's generation trying to make music
Max's generation trying to make hits

do more music with Mike, this is satisfying.
That was seriously impressive. That being said, I'm ashamed at both of you for knowing that horrific Nickelback song. 😂😂And yes, I'm Canadian.
Did Mike actually grow up in Wisconsin during the 50s and 60s? 😉
You need to play Mad Martigan's Music Trivia! I would love to see how y'all score!
I knew every song from 1960-2000, then remember hearing some of the songs from 2001-2024, but like the guys couldn't always name song/artist until after revealed. 🎶😖
Best sax sound, careless whisper
Baker street - Gerry Rafferty
You both did well!
Mike bringing the heat
The scary thing is that I own each and every one of those songs on CD, and music is second to movies for me. (Let's just say I'm roughly Mike's age.)
Crushed 80 and 90 ,got about half of others 😊, gonna go jam to my old pl 👍😊
Wedding DJ here. At this point, they should just rename "Low" "Apple Bottom Jeans." Every parent over 45 thinks it's called that anyways lol

🇨🇦 A big "sorry" for the eight Canadian entries. Utter shite, all.
I am good from about 75 to 2000. The last decade I only know a few.
Wtf happened to music after the 90s?
After the 70s more like
It went to $hit.
Autotune was invented.

This started the year I was born and ended now. I don't care too much for now.
Not bad Mike and Daz.
❤
wow it really goes downhill at the end lol
They can remember songs from decades ago but not old town road lol
It makes sense logically considering it's music they actively listened to and at a time when they were paying attention to music.
I'm so bad with the song names. Man, the 60's-70's had such great music. I feel like the 80's was kinda "meh", 90's was great (not sure about the song choices though), early 2000's was great. Then it all went to SHIT.

Robbie Williams never really hit in The States.
I remember seeing his "Rock DJ" video when it debuted on MTV. I kind of liked it; it went nowhere.

Got 'em all - too easy - up until the point where the music started to become bad, autotune garbage......
Just makes you realize how music has transformed into programmed C R A P ! over the years. 🤮
