    I fish a lot of trout in Lake Huron and switched to Chamberlain releasesa couple years ago. Hands down better than any other release. You can adjust the tension to release even on the smallest fish. No more shakers.

    Thank you very helpful! Only lakers in my area, LOTW and no one is fishing for them besides myself. So at times my learning curve is steep.

    This video is great Adam! I missed this one somehow. Doug was always talking about how good the trout ate to eat.

    Great content I am new to the fishery and have a great deal to learn. This channel is a wonderful resource. I wish I could just go to the description section and order some of the bait rigs you guys recommend.

    Cowbells still work great for Lakers,I haven’t run any spin doctors yet,I will have to give them a shot

      Cowbells do work well but by using the spin doctors we can fish at a much faster speed and continue to catch silver fish while catching trout. I recommend everyone give them a try!!

    What time of year do you start fishing for lake trout? Soon as you can get out?

      They are getting them now. It will get better as the water temps get into the 40s.

      We run them between 20-30’

    Are you catching Lake Trout all trough season? Lake Ontario northern shore I get them in May bottom at 100'. They disappear in June. Is it worth chasing them at over 100' ? It gets tricky , downrigger line gets too long. You never know if you are still near bottom.

    • @Reel2ReelOutdoors
      @Reel2ReelOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      We catch them all year. Deepest on the bottom I have caught one is 380’. 23# canon ball.

      @@Reel2ReelOutdoors wow. At what depth are you getting them in: May, June, July on Lake Michigan? I only use 10lb weights + 8" spindoc with whirly gig. Bob, Salmon Catcher Fishing Charters, Port Credit, Ontario. Thank you. In my waters in May Lake Trout hangs at 100' feet. Smalest fish in 2022 season was 8lb, largest 25lb, average 10-15 lb

    • @Reel2ReelOutdoors
      @Reel2ReelOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobtate6812 We fish them in 40-100’ in May. Then just keep sliding out as the bottom temps warm up. I like colder than 48 on the bottom for trout. I rely heavily on the electronics to find them.

      I think they are like any Great Lakes fish, if you clean correctly they are fine in moderation.

    Can you provide a link where I can see a picture of this lake trout release as described?. It almost sounds like you are using two inline releases together . Or is it just a solitary release with a rubber band keeping the tension?

    • @Reel2ReelOutdoors
      @Reel2ReelOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s is two spin doctor swivels with 18” of 30# mono in between. Rubber band to the line

    Should like spin dr be glo after a certain depth??

    • @Reel2ReelOutdoors
      @Reel2ReelOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have not found that to be the case. I think maybe the whirly gig or spin n glo should but we have caught fish deeper than 300’ with a chrome blade. I think it is more about how the blade stir up the bottom.
