A shot in the dark here, but would any Catholic/Christian brother be able to discuss with me on how they reconcile the Masonic Legends with their Christian preconceptions of biblical history and mysticism. I am reading Max Heindel’s “Freemasonry and Catholicism” and have some questions and am in search of perspective. Particularly the parts of the crafts descending of Cain, and the idea of “Fire & Water”. I begin my initiation soon but have been doing much research.
If you haven't yet been initiated I'd recommend just going with the flow and enjoying the experience. Let the ceremonial wash over you. Freemasonry means many things to many people, and most brethren never explore the esoteric tradition in any depth. The important thing is the experience. You will learn as much by 'doing' as studying! A lot of Heindel's stuff is never referenced (even obliquely) in the Lodge and are inferences drawn from outside the Craft and applied post-facto.😁
@@FromtheQuarries Thank you brother! You are very correct when you say that most are not in it for the esoteric aspect, and a couple have looked at me suspiciously when I mention it. My mentor who helped me get started on this journey into the craft is a Messianic Jewish Mystic and he has tutored me in in that field, so my interpretation of the craft was that the esotericism played a bigger role for the average mason. Heindel acknowledges that he is not a mason in his works so I am to take his writings with a grain of salt even as he speaks matter-of-factly on the topic.
brother i am working on a movie about our craft and maybe your expertise will be a good fit. Is there any chance we can get in touch outside of YT? Bro Dominik :)
