Hello. French native speaker here. I learned English (and I am still learning..) just the same way you are learning French. What helped was music and movies. I would listen to English music while reading the lyrics, it helps with the pronounciation and accent. Movies helped with following a conversation, expressions, vocabulary etc… but again what’s essential when learning a new language is practicing. Since you have nobody to help, I would suggest speaking to yourself. Go in a park and talk to birds, trees, bushes … in French. It is not much but as you do it often there will be some progress trust me. I tried it and it work for me with English, I don’t know the results are gonna be the same with French but you should give it a try. And don’t give up, you will get there ! Ps: I wrote a similar comment before but I can’t see it so I sent this one.
As a native french speaker i can try to give you advice with what i do to try to learn a language for me i wanted to learn russian ( still learning it now ) i started using Duolingo the problem is that it only help with the alphabet and vocabulary while to realy learn language like the other coment say its with watching a movie with the language or series listening people speaking with it ( if you have noone to speak with try wathing video in the language maybe in the begining with subtitle and after try to do without when you know good vocabulary) you can try like the other coment say speaking to urself i still do it but i do speak to myself even in english ( i do it because i like speaking to myself but it help because you can do a some sort of routine that help to remember some word and have a base for the rest ) well i think thats prety much it i do get the same problem for russian when i learn it but i try to not give up i al pretty sure you can do the same !!! PS: some idea i say came from the coment of raphaelkabash6633 !
I don’t think reading French is easy at all but I do think these beginner lessons without a teacher and already having a background in Romance languages isn’t giving me the type of education I need. Thanks for watching!

You may be underestimating reading if you think reading in French is easy. Try Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. Good luck!
