It’s been 3 weeks of practicing jig 2 and I have made a big impact to my school because of this video, a lot of us were gonna quit band until I grabbed a pair of sticks and starting drumming on tenors and everyone got motivated by the song and now we are playing this song every week at football games thanks to you ,
@@yaboimichael4707 It's hilarious how many people don't understand that this is on a practice pad which does not have as much rebound and is difficult to get an audible sound out of.
@@masonmorrow9180 it's also hilarious to say that because #1 practice pads are for practicing GOOD TECHNIQUE and for 2 they are specifically made to have a shit ton of rebound ... you're claim is false my guy
His playing zones were good especially on drum 3, and 4. Had the right rhythm, and tempo, just needs to bring his fingers in a little bit to help his technique. All around sounded very good!
@@zkonexpo9610 it looks like he's playing more notes than you hear, his hands are moving in the same speed as the singles before it, but only one of his hands is actually playing the drum.
Sousaphone player here. I've always wanted to be part of drumline but I've always thought that I wasn't experienced enough, I've had a few years of playing the drums, but never the quads. I've watched this video over and over, teaching myself how to play it, when I finally asked one of the quad players if I could try playing jig 2. Apparently no one in drumline could actually play it correctly, so now they have a vendetta against me. Totally worth it Amazing video btw
Great ghost notes but when you play on the outer drums try to move outwards from your arms and not from the wrist this allows to build muscle and make things easier on you in the future and also watch your stick heights they did get a little out of hand sometimes but other than that great job 👍
Hey you’re doing great but here’s a few things that I think will help you get more rebound and better sound. Try incorporating your wrists into the motion you make while playing so you’re not just playing with your arms and fingers, the wrist motion will take away a lot of tension you’d feel with just playing with arm and finger. Also try to get even stroke heights so you don’t get an uneven sound while playing legatos. Lastly flatten your hands a tiny bit more cause it looks like your playing with a almost French grip. Other than those things it’s sounded well, keep up on the good work!
Hi just checking in after 6 months , I’ve been practicing a lot more on tenors mainly dci exercise and I’m putting more time into this but all I can do right now is just was these type of videos because I sprained my wrist :(
