- In this video we compare two different stays in the MIDLANDS. We spent three weekends in the Midlands in the month of May, because of weddings and a baby christening.
In the beginning of the month we stayed at the beautiful LYTHWOOD LODGE, it cost us R3000 for two nights, including breakfast and dinner. It was a very comfortable stay and a beautiful location. We recommend that you stay here if you don't want to do much exploring in the Midlands or if you are there for a function like a wedding.
Our second weekend we decided to stay in one of the cheapest AirBnbs we could find. We were there for a wedding and only stayed for one night. It cost us R500 for the night. It was a loft apartment and we wish we had a bit more time to stay there, especially to sit around the fire place. We recommend that you stay here if you just need a place to sleep, while you're out exploring the Midlands.
We also show you what CALDERWOOD HALL looks like as a wedding venue. It was the end of the month, funds were low and we decided to drive home after the wedding.

Winter looks really pretty in the Midlands! That fancy hotel looks like it was gorgeous. So cool that they have a service where they heat up the room for you and even give you a fancy snack! Absolutely nothing wrong with the cheaper place though! Would TOTALLY book that place! Looks like it had a lot of character

Other coffee shops to try in the Midlands!!!: N2 (as in squared) Bakery., Railhouse Farmstore, the old mushroom farm (Karkloof side), Terbadore (get that bean snob on). Sadly Steampunk is no longer there - RIP. Great vlog guys. Craig, the shorts! You making me feel cold!!!

Ooooh I love that they put the heater on and leave you shortbread biscuits..thats sold me :D The accommodation is gorgeous! The indoor chapel is lovely! Even the drive there looks beautiful. The service was absolutely amazing! There are such beautiful place in the Midlands. It's definitely one of our favourite areas in South Africa😁

Seems like a nice area! Both of the accommodations looked really cozy. I think I'd go for the first one if I was looking for some rest and relaxation. The other one seemed like it would be closer to activities though if we wanted to explore. Great comparison.

Luckily our friends and family had their functions that month...the 3rd wave just hit and we’re back on Level 4 from today ☹️

You guys are looking fancy, nice that you got to go there 3 times! I like the rustic look in the cheaper accommodation for sure. Very nicely decorated. Of course the more expensive one is on the fancier side. Glad you got to visit nice coffee shops too!

$100 for that first accommodation seems pretty good for the two of you and breakfast, plus the turn down service. The second accommodation gave a lot of space for $35 despite it’s quirky layout!
We always go for the cheaper quirky places but $100 for meals and turn down is insane. Love the name Piggly Wiggly 😂 I just want to say 'Lets go to Piggly Wiggly' 🙈🤣
Hey guys, both of the accommodations looked nice. For 1/3 of the price we would go for the cheaper one to be able to spend more exploring..and going to both of the coffee shops. I really liked the Piggly Wiggly name 🐖
