Hi guys, Ive been following your journey since you first arrived and settled up north... as an Aucklander, firstly welcome to our city, it isnt perfect but its a great city and thank you for always being positive ( and honest at the same time ). you also show me places I did not know existed or have changed dramatically ...... I may bump in to you one day,,, coffee will be on me.....
I'm surprised the train was operating on a public holiday. Almost every single long weekend in the last 5+ years AT have said they'll been out of operation for maintenace on the tracks. Loved seeing your walk up Mt Wellington. My goal last year was to walk up it 52 times in the year. I did manage to do it but was definitely forcing myself by halfway through the year, especially when I had to catch up a few from when I was away on holiday mid-year. Safe to say it didnt become a habit and have only gone up once this year 😂
Great video, shown me stuff I’ve never seen or even been on that train, even though I lived in Ak for years. Can’t wait for the CRL to be finished and open.
Beautiful! This was a greatvway to explore the surrounding area of Aucland👍💖 we looove your energy Chantal.😘💖. Great video. Lots of love to both of you💖💖💖💖
Thank you for a very informative vlog. My wife and myself will be visiting Auckland (from Adelaide South Australia) at the beginning of June, so your vlogs have been very helpful. AND, I may add, you both have very 'infectious' smiles. Excellent presentations, thank you!
Hi George, thanks so much for watching 😁 so glad our vlogs are helpful 🤗 let us know if there’s anything specific you’d like to see in our future videos 😌
As a train nerd who lives in Wellington, it makes me both heartened and a little bit envious seeing how far the Auckland train system has improved over the last twenty years. I wish we had such lovely stations here.
Honestly some of the fancy buildings/stations are a bit unecessary. The Panmure building is just a giant open thoroughfare to get down to the platform as there's not really anything inside, just a couple of toilets and the esclators down to the platform. The rest is just wide empty space with sliding doors on the front and back like a large atrium. Since there's a bus area on one side and park&ride on the other they couldve just had the floor and no building since everyone is walking through there to go down the escalators to the train. It makes me laugh whenever I go there thinking about how much it would've cost. At least have some shops to make it more than just a fancy overpriced walkway 😂 Our trains are also quite unreliable. When I was at uni the trains were somewhat ok and only the occasional cancelation (that was 8+ years ago) but apparently it's really bad now. I caught one a few months ago for the first time in ages to go to a concert and luckily I got there early cause the one I had planned to take was cancelled. Going to another soon so I guess i'll see whether they're any better. From all the AT and news updates I think the bus will probably be a better option.
@@Bailanat0r What trains to the south? 🤣 There is no rail connection from the south to the North Shore, despite the fact that the population on the North Shore easily justifies it and has dome for over 30 years now. The truth is that such a rail project has always been prohibitively expensive for such a small country that's economy still relies primarily on agriculture and farming. NZ has no natural resources and no industry. It's farming or tourism, that's it.
What a fab train adventure day guys! You got us very excited to visit NZ soon, the Beach club looks lovely, so glad you got back in time for a drink there, would be so nice to swim on a warmer day too! Love the matchy matchy shirt at the end Craig! 😄
Hi Chantz and Craig, Thanks for a really exciting train adventure. This is my first train trip in nearly 20 years Lol👍🤣 (Living in Cape town will do that to you). Its so quiet and peaceful and soo clean and such a pleasant ride yet exciting and adventurous all at the same time. And the food OMW😋, And Yes Im definitely having a Mug & Bean coffee with a bacon and eggs brekki while watching your video😂👍👍💯
Aww, thanks so much for watching. We absolutely love trains! I've actually done the Shosholoza train from Durban to Joburg a few times 😅 Unfortunately no overnight trains in NZ, but we're enjoying going on little adventures on the trains every now and again :) Thanks so much for watching, hope you enjoyed your Mug and Bean!
Already very impressed that Craig is choosing to embody the spirit of the Kiwi bloke by wearing shorts outside despite the bleak weather, but doing that for a whole day in a t-shirt with no jacket ought to come with a citizenship grant! Nek minnit, he'll be espousing the many virtues of a ute! 😂❤
Not the best place for tourists aside from some nice restaurants and getting on the piss. If you are going to come to NZ the best places are def outside of auckland, the more natural and scenic areas. The beaches of the upper north island and areas like queenstown are 100% more worth it
It's so weird seeing my neck of the woods (Mt Wellington) in a video haha, most people never bother to come here when they visit Auckland xD My gym shows up in a shot when you showed the Burger King near the Lola cafe LOL. My fave thing is that the gym is next door to fast food lol. I've never been to Lola myself, but the food looked great! Great video, you guys' enthusiasm is so infectious :D
Aw, thanks so much for watching:) wish people would look past the same old touristy things in Auckland and explore places like Mt Wellington, we enjoyed it so much! lol, we should’ve hit the gym after Lola…the food was sooo good!
I can't believe how much the Auckland train has grown, so much so in the last 14 odd years, as an expat kiwi living in Brizzy, Im really impressed, more so because I'm from Manurewa. Love the vid ❤ keep it up guys . Cheers.
Hey :) I'm not sure if you remember but I worked for you at Crawford as a coach, I recently found your TH-cam channel and I'm so glad to see you and your partner happy and thriving :) keep well!
Hey, if you guys are planning to get a new camera, I would deffo take a look at the DJI pocket cameras. They are small, pocket sized, lightweight, has amazing quality camera (I think up to 4k but you will need to fact check that) and has real time tracker! Perfect for vlogs
Luckily these stations were built a few years ago. If they were being built today , each station would just be a clapped out second hand Corolla sitting on blocks beside the tracks. And , of course , the trains would be clapped out second hand Corollas linked together and pulled by a clapped out second hand Camry.
Hoe ry die trein. Choo choo chooo choo choo!! Thanks for my weekly dose of cheer. Please share whatever it is you’re taking…. Jokes aside. Greetings. Keep up the good work. Thank you. Zoltán
Auckland train system improved, haha no .. Every single weekend without fail (for maybe last 10 years) - they are not operating most of them. . Well at least you not catching slow delayed buses :) For example, right now until Tues morning!
Whatever people may say, Auckland isn't the most culturally interesting city or the one with the most breathtaking scenery, but it's a great, vibrant little city. Great video, keep going !
Ugh, Auckland is a melting pot of so many cultures mixed into this big city, it's love of our own culture is everywhere, so interesting, breath taking scenery all over aux, from the beautiful harbour to the islands in the gulf to downtown, waitaks , love its vibe, culture, food, music, people, keep going ❤
No, you misunderstood me when I talk about culture, I'm talking about New Zealand culture. This is what Auckland is missing for me to consider living there. but on the other hand it is what makes the city more dynamic and international

I wonder how big the grand openings gonna be after over a decade of waiting.
so cool..we will be in New Zealand in a few months!! can't wait.
