It's a vicious cycle in the Eastern Cape. Bad leadership and policies tend to result in most of the young people leaving the province. The elderly get left behind and continue to vote for the ANC. Resulting in more bad leadership and policies, which once again cause more young people who would vote against the ANC to leave. So, the ANC stays in power there.

Now I understand why China worked on being self-sufficient, the moment where political decisions always have the message "make sure the investor is not upset" is not a safe way to work in my view. China has become one of the biggest economies we can't function without because they made every business a manufacturer. We still look outside for "investors" to come in and create industries for us. So sad as an African

A Grand Coalition government could be a blessing in disguise. In Kenya we had a coalition Gov't from 2008 to 2013 and it's during that period that we experienced the least corruption because the 2 parties were each other's watch dog. They kept each other in check throughout and did not "trust" one another which led to prudent use of the country's resources since dubious deals, bills, projects and even budgetary allocations were flagged by Party A and Party B had to convince Party A why such should be allowed to continue and how it would benefit the public.

Personally I would prefer a Tri party coalition.... All underdogs DA, EFF and MK then leave the ANC right out to sit and learn from others. Coz I see them sabotaging their partners if they are allowed anywhere near power. Jacob as President then Deputised by John...then Julius will be Minister of Public Enterprise..... 😎 Triple J could be the answer for Mzansi

EFF would have been the perfect transitional leadership from old to new but the old (ANC) didn't know when to hand over the baton the young lions like Mandela did. The EFF should not form part of the coalitions yet to arise. There's a consequence that the country must realize first of tolerating a "subjective democracy". I'm very against this view of being guided by the so-called "market preferences" in political set-ups. We are currently a sad generation and co-existing with the beloved "stable market" not playing any role whatsoever in alleviating our economic duress. The people are not ready yet for a radical change because they allow the definition of our problem to be sugarqouted by the establishments. The spirit of the EFF will endure when what needs to be done is understood properly by our people. ALUTA CONTINUA

Nah brother, that’s easy to say if you have nothing to lose. There are a number of South Africans, especially Black South Africans, who, despite all odds stacked against them made it out of poverty and into the middle class. Therefore, there should be allowed to hold onto whatever strides they have made and that needs a somewhat stable economy that can only be achieved by a stable coalition.

WC and KZN have a lot of similarities so I can actually see this happening. Let's also understand that the Zulu vote is very big and they have already planted the seed with Pampas in KZN. But MK has already said that they will only partner with pro black parties which they can do since they have the numbers. Next election, they could actually take the presidency.
