I have been binge-watching your videos since I discovered them last night. I woke up this morning and continued from where I stopped 😊. I can't wait for new videos and updates on your island life. Also looking forward to one day trying out that curry you make with coconut milk. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Your courage, strength, and tenacity are admirable. Your videos are made with so much love for your lifestyle which is a lot similar to what we have in our rural areas here, minus the island. Greetings from your new subscriber from Nigeria. Much love 💕
Hi Marjolein , came across your channel , love it so much , it's so refreshing to see you and your husband live free .It is really relaxing to watch after coming home from working in a concrete Jungle .Thanks for sharing . Which country are you from? I am sure you get asked this question a lot , but can someone from Australia , buy some land there too and live like you guys ??
I came across your channel today and absolutely love watching it. I am from Windhoek Namibia, leaving in the capital city. Me and my Husband farm on the outskirts of Windhoek and go to the farm every weekend. I can relate to your lifestyle. Keep well
I can relate so well with your love for coffee! I live in a remote village in Romania and I always say that the best moment of the day is coffee time, it just makes my life better 😍
I watched your video on another channel and this has really inspired me. Im from Fiji and our family owns a large piece of land by the beach on an island in the yasawa group. We had plans to built our 2nd home there since we all live in the city on the mainland. I dont know what to do, but eversince i started watching your videos, im getting it. Thank you.
@@OurIslandLife You inspired me alot. Im raised in the city and know nothing about living outside of it, Keep recording, keep living and keep inspiring.
OMG, this is refreshing, Indonesia looks like the most wonderful and peaceful place to be. I am sure there are a lot of obstacles to overcome but i will love to try. I recently visited Thailand and went to a couple places that looks like that. That life appeals to me. Please enjoy it for me also.
I just came across your channel and I want to tell you how much I love your content !!! 😊 Keep doing what you are doing!!! . I would love to see more content on how you prepare the dishes you cook ………(maybe when your new kitchen is finished)👍🏻Good luck to you both 😊🌺
I come across ur channel and instanly subscribe cause I love how calming and comforting ur daily life videos. If u dont mind, may u made a QnA videos about how ur life before, how u guys met and how u come into Indonesia, I'm really curious about it especially when u live & raised in big city on western world, this kind of life felt really different & out of our reach. Hey, love your videos. Have you thought about salting the fish like the Portuguese cod fish? I have no idea how it’s done 😅 but I know I even transferred on the plane to bring some to my parents (I live in Portugal and they’re in Bulgaria). After that you put it in water for 48 hours and it’s ready to cook (you need to change the water often though).
Just saw my first video of your channel and was amazed of the tranquility ,simple life that we all aspire to have ,especially having good lefts and rights to yourselves Looking forward to see more videos 🤙🏼 Blessfrom the island of Puerto Rico
Hi Marjolein, one of your videos popped up on my TH-cam feed today, I really enjoy watching your videos and subscribed immediately. I travelled a lot in Asia and really love Indonesia. Hi… here from PR. I just got to your channel I love what you guys are doing… simple and peaceful! Beautiful island beautiful life. I can relate so much I have always wanted to be really far from anything that doesn’t bring me peace… which after 30ish years in PA. Working like a mad woman… the city chaos… people… high taxes… bills 😅. I got to come back to the island of PR. Got me a pice of country “ property and I love it. I’m so in touch with nature that I don’t miss any human. Blessings ❤

Great to see what and how you cook there. And you just get the lemongrass right next door, awesome! No shortage of flavorful ingredients there! 😋 Found it so touching how An reacted during your explanation to the viewers on how to break a coconut. 😊And he ended with a compliment too. 😁
New subscriber here from the Philippines!!! Thank you for sharing these videos. I love your cooking videos btw, its so interesting to see local dishes from the Island. Sending Virtual hugs to you guys!!
Don't feel bad no one likes washing dishes, lol btw I have to say you have a beautiful smile and laugh. You make me smile! May Almighty God continue to bless you and your hubby!
So good that you went for a surf. Nothing beats dancing on the waves while the sun is going down. Just went to check the waves here on Bali and it looked pretty much flat 😵💫
We grew up camping, so as a child I got used to not having electricity and washing dishes with a bucket of water. I think we become addicted to convenience, only thinking of what it provides us but neglecting to acknowledge what it COSTS us. Your life there seems so grounded and peaceful. Yes it's daily work, sometimes hard work I'm sure. But you're so present and alive there. Here in the "first world" so much of our time is trading our time and life energy for money and "convenience." Then after working 40-60 hours a week to make money and every day sitting in a car in traffic to get back and forth to work we spend a LOT of money to go to a beautiful beach somewhere to surf and eat island food! 🤣 Then after a week or three (if we had more money to spend on our vacation), we reluctantly have to go back home and work until we can have another vacation. But you live there... There is a balance and wholesomeness to your lives there that is truly envious. May it stay so pristine and peaceful. Thank you for sharing it!
I can’t wait to set up a smoker in Belize! My first experience with taro didn’t go well. I didn’t know Grant wasn’t finished cooking it and decided to try it when he wasn’t looking. 😳 I spit it back out in a hurry! 😂 Love watching you guys ❤
I really enjoy seeing your beautiful life. Please can you tell me how A learned so many carpentry skills, everything he builds is beautiful? Please can you tell me how you both learned to surf.
Wow, you guys are living the dream of many people! I found you on 'Exploring Alternatives'. And what alternative this is! What a blessing to not have Big Brother following you by 4, 5, and 6G or by all the camera's!! I life completely private! Great to find out that it is still possible on our planet! But... Without An it would not be possible l think...? You need local knowledge of all there is out there. On land. In the ocean. The language. The weather. Thank you so much for your wonderful channel!! I live on a tropical island too, and would love your taro balls recipe?? As we have lot's of taro here :)
Aah epic! It’s very easy, you just peel and boil or steam the taro and the last 5 min you add some ripe cooking bananas (if you have any) so they get cooked too. Then pour away the water and mash it all until smooth. Then form balls and roll them in freshly grated coconut. Best eaten with chili sauce or soup or curry ☺️
I just saw you on exploring Alternatives - Your life looks great, I want to check out Indonesia and Spearfish and live off the land a little for 2 weeks this year. Any recommendations that are not as touristic but still somewhat in civilization?

Yes, problem is we only know the types in the local Mentawai language 😆
@OurIslandLife it's OK. A lot of cultures developed their own varieties over time, which nowadays is used in breeding better lines.
