The golden rule of sitcoms is over exaggeration of real themes and ideas. But Parks and Rec really nailed how annoying, frustrating, soul sucking, and rage inducing idiot members of the public are
The depiction of the media aged very well. Also, it took a decent amount of hits at the governence system as well, Leslie had a tendency to fail upwards throughout the show.

With that title and thumbnail I initially thought this vid was gonna be a compilation of every time the show made a joke about Leslie & Ann being a couple. This is great too though! 😂
Looks like they are reading the comments to come up with new ideas, new video landed a couple of days ago: "Everytime it’s assumed Leslie & Ann are a couple | Parks and Recreation"
@@jopalm3649 Pawnee isn't rural--it's small-to-mid-sized. According to the show's makers, it has a population of about 50-80K. That's too big to be "rural."
15:28 Low key wish this clip was in more of the "Leslie and Ben falling in love with each other" compilations. You can totally tell Ben appreciates Leslie for trying to bail him out of an awkward situation. I never caught that before.
I just discovered that Nick Offerman is one of the baddies in 24 season 2. Come on, we need a 24/Parks & Rec crossover universe. Jack Bauer and Ron Swanson would get along great.
He wasn’t really a bad guy in that season of 24. He was basically reacting in fear and hate towards a middle eastern man who had nothing to do with the nuke that Jack, and then Mason, dropped in the Mojave to minimize casualties and fallout. Yeah I know he was in 2-3 episodes but he wasn’t like a part of any true villain group. But nonetheless 24 is one of my favorite shows along with Parks & Rec and it was cool to realize who he was in 24 when I rewatched the series after rewatching Parks & Rec.
And no doubt they’d get along great. Tammy 2 and one of Jacks many adversaries who have it out for him could team up and require Ron to break Jack out of Russian prison since that’s the last place we knew for sure he was going to after the mini-season 24: Live Another Day
Delayed because of the actors' and writers' strikes, and the delay probably extended further because the strikes caused Apple+ to shuffle around release dates for shows for marketing purposes.
“They’re quite awful, but they are lesbians, so …” Without even thinking, I can name at least three music acts about which that’s a very accurate description.
But seriously, scientific have determined that human to not get to Mars at this point, because they would die of poisoning from their farts before they got there.
So if any dog under 50 pounds is a pointless cat, how big are the cats on Ron's family farm? Do they use cougars for pest control, or do they rely on hawks and wolverines?
The joke has many layers. One is making fun of the types of music that public radio plays, which is stereotypically multi-cultural and genre-blended (hence, the "lesbian afro-norwegian funk duo"), and the name of the band itself speaks to this as well (Nefertiti was an Egyptian queen, and fjords are bodies of water commonly associated with Norway). The lesbian part of the joke is making fun of the idea of 'diversity' for diversity's sake, which seems to be commonplace in public radio these days. The band's music is apparently awful, but the radio station plays it anyway because it ticks a 'diversity' box. The whole scene is just one big satire about public radio.
i don't know I think I'd give Dexhart one night- seems like it would be a good time lol he's just a super freak with a lot of money, you won't be bored lol
