Well that was very nostalgic. I grew up on the island in the 60s. I learned to drive on all those narrow twisting roads. I recognised the curve where I crashed my father's car all those years ago.
I'd love to spent the rest of my life on this place. Once i visited jersey with my 7 year old daughter. It was such a wonderful time and i felt very lucky and safe...... we visited durrel zoo, lavenderfarm...., we went swimming indoor in st. Helier, visited the museum in st. Helier which was very stunning, we put our feet into a fish spaa at the mall😂, we bought a doll named miss polly, i bought a jersey dress, we loved to eat strawberry cupcakes and sandwitches. I was the best time we had....... so lovely place....❤
That is wonderful Annette! Thank you for checking out my content and for sharing those wonderful memories you have of Jersey. I definitely want to go back and experience more of the island, preferably in summer :)
Beautiful and small island, my neighbor lived there many years ago and she is speaking about this place with big love. Now I understand the reason of her nostalgic stories.
Beautiful, as a Dutch kid I watched Bergerac with my granddad in the early eighties, I loved the locations, the villages, the nature etc etc. My Nr.1 bucketlist trip is Jersey❤
Hey my friend! Another great video! I live in Jersey, in Gorey - 2 minutes up the hill from the harbour. It's a lovely part of the island. David showed you a very beautiful part of the island (Rozel) @11:23 - the white painted house on the left (with the granite wall and the white iron fence) is my ex-boss' partner's property. The botanical gardens on the steep hills to the right are his property/gardens in the valley. The small outbuilding to the right - is now used as a workshop and I believe used to be storage for fishermen back in the day. I used to manage the Garden Centre my ex-boss owns and have been to Rozel many times to deliver plants and trees to his gardens. The Chateau La Chaire hotel, immediately to the left and up the slope, after his house, was occupied by the Germans in WWII during the occupation of Jersey. The Germans were fascinated by the shrubs in the grounds of the hotel, the likes of which they had never seen before! The Germans planned to uproot them and export them back to Germany. The gardener at the time was much against this and he was so adamant to not let the Germans take them, he regularly urinated on the soil around the said shrubs, so they eventually died! I did not realise that you were still in Jersey after watching your first video, otherwise I would have been more than happy to take you for an island tour! Maybe next time :)
Hi cpallot1! Wow, thank you so for taking the time to comment and for providing this additional information - it is much appreciated! Really interesting about the Germans and their love of shrubs, I never knew that! I am no longer in Jersey but thank you for your offer of an island tour, which I will definitely take up when I return to Jersey (and I do plan to do so in due course). Cheers for watching my content and supporting my channel!
I watched this video to get a feel for the island and its history. Looks beautiful. My husband's mother's family (Syvrets, Le Maistre, and Le Gresley) are originally from there. I would love to visit sometime!
What a legend David is for showing you around! Some great historical sites on Jersey, you'd have been very hard pressed to see all of that without a guide. You stayed in the same hotel I used to when I was cabin crew, used to love the beds at that Radisson Blu 😆 cheers!
Hello sir, willy, I would like to know why you don't make a video of monastir, tunisia, and zeramdine? Thank you and I would like to watch some of those videos. I mean, I always watch your videos. thank you
Hello Bernice! Nice to hear from you. I really hope to visit Tunisia again one day to make a second series! If that happens, I will definitely visit some of those interesting places you mentioned :) There is a lot of world out there for me to explore though!
Thank you so much for this video. At 25:00, you refer to the statue as the Devil or Old Nick. Do you know if the area where it is located, is in any way associated with the Payn family?
Hi Mick, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! I had a wonderful time on the island, even though it was a very brief visit. Would love to return one day!
Thanks David for for your generosity in showing us your gorgeous island! Thanks Willie Explore for the great content!
