Hi, Tim. I'm from Jersey and I wanted to say thank you for visiting the Island. It's a very historic Island, lots of tourists, mostly French, come to visit. The weather is quite mixed like in the UK. The prices here are quite high but the quality, overall, is good. Once again, thank you for coming.
its a lovely island and more should visit
The tourists are not mostly French though, most of the grockles are British although we do get a few French
I'm English and love Jersey - I've stayed in hotels and B&Bs. IME pre Covid fantastic, post Covid serious lack of customer service and enormous price hikes. I wont go again until they sort that out - it's cheaper for me to go to Crete for a week. And the problem is that the majority rule in Jersey is from very wealthy people; I guess they'll loosen up when there is no-one to do their nails / pool / dog groom/walk / gardening / cleaning etc. One thing I found interesting was that there were (pre Covid / Brexi?) there were loads of eastern european workers - why couldn't our young go there to work???
I have been to the island twice. The fist at the end of the covid restrictions and last year and loved every minute of it. Such a lovely island. As well as visiting most of the tourist attractions I loved St Brelades Bay.
I am a comedian and tour jersey a lot I had my room broken in to once and my pants and socks were stolen the thief looked like John nettles
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Tim’s videoing and editing skills, to get his smoothly exiting the elevator and entering the suite shot?? *Bravo, I say, Bravo* 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
thank you
You're right! I've thought about what a great job he does with it all, but have never said anything(!) ... not taking his skills or talents for granted & glad you pointed it out. 💫
I've binged a fair few of these now and I have to say, really well done. I can honestly admit that this is the only channel I watch where I never skip a single second.
This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Jersey Shore”!!!😅
😂😂😂
The fish and chips looked amazing! Thd beach too, some fantasy island. Very well covered.
Stayed here 49 years ago as a 10 year old. It doesn’t seem to have changed that much. My lasting memory of the hotel was my parents being told that I had to wear a jacket for dinner - seems that this rule has been relaxed! My parents have returned several times over the years for special occasions: weddings and Christmas parties for friends on the island. Always spoke highly of the place.
Lived in Jersey for three years, met my husband and married there - many happy memories of Jersey, my husband passed away in 2017 - we loved staying there, back in 1973 the night life was great!
❤️🙏
I love how he makes it feel like you’re actually travelling with him. I’m suffering with a chronic illness at the moment and I used to love travelling, but I can for the foreseeable future, but I’m sure I will again one day, but for now, this channel helps me see things that I can’t right now!
Same same but my chronic illness currently is packing to move while sick so i get it girl. Its a great channel to help distract and not feel isolated. Wishing you speedy recovery ❤
Now people be thinking you are a serial killer 😂 how many can you fit in a wardrobe
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Thankyou Tim you carry on with your shower comments...love your videos...as for jersey...never been but loved watching bergerac years ago and promised one day we would visit.🍷
I quite like that room, esp the balcony but at that price, I'd expect it to be in much better shape. I wouldn't expect dirt on the balcony chairs and I'd expect that bedding to be fresh and nice smelling. The fish n chips looked lovely. They were more like 'fish bites' (that's what we call them up north). The best things about that hotel are the location and astroturf al fresco bars!
Hi Tim - great video as always. We went on honeymoon to Jersey and are going to L’Horizon for our 30th wedding anniversary this September.
I love how thorough your room reveals are. Well done, Tim.
Always makes me happy one of your videos. Gabby too ❤
Amazing view, beautiful sea and beach,
I stayed in Jersey last week for two nights at the Hotel Ambassadeur in St Clement, very nice hotel by the beach. Visited Jersey Zoo and Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey, loved St Brelade's bay too. Enjoyed driving round, a nice slower pace of life. Plus cheap flight fares with easyJet from London Luton, a great trip, good to see you enjoyed Jersey too Tim 😊
Yes I also try to stay at the Ambassadeur. Good value and very clean (cost me £80 a night for a single room with a double bed back in 2022) and handy to get to. Also has a big car park unlike a lot of St. Helier hotels, so a plus if you are hiring a car.
We were on that beach last week. Lovely place to visit, and would 100% recommend it to anyone who’s not yet been before.
Omg 1 night wow dude . Nice balcony and food apart from the encasement 16:32 views of jersey lovely
Amazing!
Thank you Tim, going through incredibly horrible depression. Not a good day. Just watching the beautiful scenery and your wit make me laugh. Thank you so much!
Jesus loves you and cares about you
Aw thats a shame..you keep watching nice things to try and lift your spirits....try and go into nature..
Thank you! He is my Lord
🙏 ❤
Thank you, I definitely will
😃
I always watch Tim when I am stressed or depressed! Even videos I have watched before!
I only know Jersey from the TV series "Bergerac". I never took to that show, although the filming locations looked nice. Shame about the mediocre
fish and chips Tim. I've always tried the fish and chips at every English coastal town I've visited, it's rare that i'm disappointed.
You know they care when they are using Noble Isle products in the bath. Great video!
Such a beautiful place, thank you for an informative and entertaining insight Tim. As always a great watch!
Hi Tim. Looking forward to watching. Had our honeymoon in Jersey in 2009.
Hello from Ohio in the states. Love your channel! I am confined to bed due to a spinal injury and I travel vicariously thru your channel. I especially love the videos that include your lovely family. Liked 👍, subscribed👍
Love your videos, Tim! This place seems wonderful and that pool in the sea was absolutely stunning! I’d really love to know more about if you report issues in the room to the staff, (from smaller issues like the cobwebs all over the outdoor furniture, to larger issues like that really concerning leak running down the wall), and what their response is. I think there’s a lot of value in knowing how the hotel staff handles any issues. And would hopefully help them to do better for the next guests.
I just found your channel, as I recover from a back injury I binged watched and travelled the world vicariously through your vlogs. Might I add I just love your content and also the glimpses of your precious little family as well. Much love from Australia xx
Sorry to hear that trace hope for a speedy recovery
What a luxury holiday destination ❤🔥😍
I had the most relaxing of holidays on Jersey back in the 1980's. Never experienced anything like that since. Very calm, recreative, and makes you totally unwind.
Good to see you stay at this Luxury beach hotel what looked amazing Jersey looks such a lovely place as well , great review as always Tim 👍
Thanks so much Chris
Tim I am looking forward for this as only been to Jersey once when I was a baby so obviously can’t really remember what’s it like. Maybe I’m due to go back sometime in my lifetime.
What a fantastic place to stay 😊
I went to Jersey back in the 90's when I was a kid with my parents. Lovely place, I have fond memories of shopping in St Helier and buying a pair of Reebok Pumps 😆
Also remember this amazing attraction we went to called Living Legend (I think) it told the history of the island. You started off on the bridge of Captain Nemo's ship and then went through to a auditorium with holographic projections and all sorts. Was really cool for the time.
Probably one of the best family holidays 🙂
Hi Tim. Your video brings back memories here :) Me, my mum, dad and sister visited Jersey some years ago. We came over by boat (never again!) We had a cabin on the way over but on the way back we travelled in the day and both me and my mum were terribly sick sick :) We stayed in a lovely Bed and Breakfast. We walked out the back door, down a path and then we were on the beach! I remembered we visited an German hospital there, well worth a visit and a few other places i can't remember. we had a week there and it we had a wonderful time :)
You should try out the merton hotel in jersey. Great indoor/outdoor pools. Lots of entertainment for kids/adults.
Hey Tim. Love your channel. One hotel suggestion, the Broadmor in Colorado Springs. You could spend 5 hours just touring the grounds and art work in the halls.
Love Jersey. I was there 10 years ago.
Again well Done Tim. Your usual well presented, honest vlog , captured with great camera work. Certainly Jersey is a place I want to visit. Hotel and location is lovely and your use of the amount of people you can get in a shower etc is really relevant to indicate the size of a space, keep doing what you’re doing. View from hotel is amazing and the beach is beautiful. Fish and Chips look ok but shame it wasn’t what you would expect. Summed up, again Tim, so well Thank You
Tim, your “number of people in the shower” is one of my favorite parts of your videos, always makes me laugh. It does serve a good purpose for me anyway, because it’s a good “impression maker”.
thanks Kathy , im glad I can help ;-)
Gorgeous view, but it would bug me being so overlooked. Especially the one above you. There is no privacy at all.
Love the view from your room and that balcony was fantastic. Very nice hotel. Love when you go to seaside resorts
I have spent 20 yrs visiting Jersey. I have very special memories of visiting with my late husband. We had our honeymoon in Jersey. So pleased you have finally made it to the beautiful island. We recently visited and found it so expensive to eat out. We had 2 basic F&C, with two deserts, a lemonade and a tea at the hotel next door to the one you stayed at, came to over £72. It was cheaper to park your car for twelve hours(£2.95) than to have a small glass of fresh orange at a local cafe.(£5.10)
Hi Tim. I have not visited Jersey. I have stayed at two hotels on the Isle of Guernsey. Both hotels were really different but comfortable and really nice. This was over 15 years ago.
The views Tim are just stunning I thought it looked very inviting £50 for fish n chips and desert I thought was a bit exspensive could have bought a new pair of shoes for that but I loved the video thanks 😊❤️🙏
Just paused to comment on the shower scene 😂... I have to say I love it hehehe... I agree 4 people definitely! You have truly inspired me to share a tour of our stay at the luxury Hoar cross hall and the shower scene was inspired by you 😍
Great vid as usual....but that leak wud worry me a lot
Maybe the "spikes" on the side of the hotel were for holding flower boxes?
Fish and chip reviews are still alive 😂❤ love them! Jersey looks fantastic? I'd never think to go there? But that's what your channel is for! Showing us these places. Great job as always 👏
Lol just about
Tim engages with the unseen audience a great skill 🎉
Truly a natural. 🤷♀
Tim will you be doing a tour around the island? Never been so would love to see there & Guernsey.
I feature a little of the island in the video 😄
Oh wow jersey looks lovely, the room look lovely with amazing view, a bit let down by the bedding, and the wall look wet too. 🥰🥰
Morning Tim, did you go see where bergerac was filmed and the character hungerfords mansion. Hotel looks lovely inside, yes very big private balcony for only 2 people. Price seems on par for what you got though.
Hi Tim,
I love watching your videos, in fact the WHOLE family loves watching them.
My boyfriend and I even save videos you upload to watch them together!
We do have a recommendation- The Bull & Swan in Stamford. If you do manage to stay, you MUST get their full English breakfast as well as that is AMAZING!
We have been multiple times because of how much we love it and are planning to go again soon.
Thanks!
Hi Tim. When I saw Jersey I immediately thought of the Jersey Shore in the US. If you ever get a chance you should check out Cape May. It’s gorgeous and the historic hotels are to die for. If you can go around Christmas it’s even more beautiful
Tim I am always concerned when I visit hotels by the fact they never use a top sheet any more. They claim to change the quilt cover with every guest but in my mind it is far easier to wash and iron a flat sheet than a duvet cover, and replace on the bed. I am almost certain many hotels, if no visible stain on the duvet cover, do not change them, especially after a one night stay and that really puts me off wanting to go away. Who was in the bed the night before and were they even clean?🥺 I must have a sensitive nose because I can smell if bedding and pillowcases are not fresh and that really ruins any sleep I have.
For £570 I would have complained, especially with the water coming down the wall, by the electrics. If no one complains the staff get complacent and think its acceptable.
tbh it did im very sensitive to smells and it kept waking me up it was a strong smell!
Another great video. Tim never disappoints us❤
You're the best!
The view looks great
My favourite beach in Jersey. Crystal clear water is great for a cool off mid summer. Some of the ww2 attractions and fortifications are amazing. The underground hospital is a must. Keep up the great content, Tim.
as someone who lives in NEW jersey in the US, i find it interesting to explore the island which our state was named after!
Went to jersey years ago and stayed at pontins camp plemont bay which is no longer there. But the beaches are lovely and the waters so clear
Sslty but clear.sorry your food not up to much and the hotel does look shabby on the outside. Another brilliant vlog. ❤❤❤
I'm embarrassed to admit that having travelled all over Europe and to the other side of the world, that I've never been to the Channel Islands. If that beach was anything to go by, then I've been missing out and I'm definitely going to have a look at visiting in the near future. Great video Tim and I bet it does wonders for the local tourism. 👍
The beaches in jersey are great - but, the tide does go out miles! (At the south east corner of the island, it goes out nearly 2 miles!)
Hi Tim, we watch all your videos they are very well put together and edited. One thing we would like to see or more like for you to do would be to use a hotels 24/7 room service at say 3/4 am and order something from the menu, something like an extravagant dish. See how they perform. Cheers keep up the videos
Jersey is such a beautiful place, that beach and sea view were amazing. That was a lovely hotel on the inside, and apart from the worrying water running down the wall the room was lovely too. Out of my price bracket though, I'm definitely nearer the Premier Inn kind of cost!
I hope you looked at the war time historic sites while you were there ☺
We need to get you to 1 million subs
might be a while ;-)
My three CI holidays have always been on Guernsey as I understood it to be less commercialised and of course smaller than Jersey which is what I wanted. Never did get to do the day trip to Jersey! I would agree, dinner did appear somewhat disappointing. Rather liked the hotel but, as you mentioned, showing its age a bit. I understand that The Royal Yacht is one of the top Jersey hotels. I hope you can get around to visiting Guernsey at some point.
Yes i was going to stay in that but choose this as better trip advisor reviews
Forty Pounds for fish and chips with wine.... I'm American.,maybe my sense of what that is in dollars is off...BUT THAT SEEMS HIGH.... ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WASN'T SPECIAL.
Tim how did you not know that that tiny wittle dresser with the thin wittle drawers is for your tiny wittle Hollister shirts??!! 😂🤣🤣😂😜
We really enjoy watching your videos Tim .. Have you ever thought about visiting the Isles of Scilly? ☺
of course , ill see how well this video does first lol
I Love Jersey, I'm there a couple of times a year. ❤️
Superb video of this luxurious hotel in Jersey . Agree the facade looked like an 'old Spanish hotel' that's just what it reminded me of! interior beautiful and that balcony plus view was just scintillating I just love it when you can relax and overlook a gorgeous beach like that. Hotel room excellent too but they could have cleaned more thoroughly especially at that price.
Unfortunately my trip to Guernsey was cancelled last week so watched this with a tinge of sadness.
sorry to hear that .. Guernsey is lovely but smaller and less busy than Jersey
The Channel Islands were part of Normandy. When Britain lost its lands in France, the Channel Islands were given the choice of whether to remain British or become French along with the rest of the lands that Britain lost. Britain gave the better option - effectively independence in return for accepting the UK sovereign and some oversight by the Privy Council - so the Islands opted for this.
What a beautiful place to go visit.
The first time I went to Jersey was in 1956 and I loved it. The next time I visited Jersey was in 1991 and was very disappointed the beaches were scruffy and a lot of undesirables were there. We were told by our Guest House that the millionaires who live on the island were trying to keep the holidaymakers out I don’t know whether that was sour grapes on behalf of the locals who couldn’t afford to buy homes there or what but that definitely put me of of returning to Jersey.
We were in the hotel next to you with the exact same view! Gutted we missed a chance to meet you as were massive fans!! 😮
I have always wanted to go to Jersey very nice beach and hotel sue Plymouth
you need to visit the underground German hospital
Hi Tim, thanks for the insight, etc..
Nice place! never been, but it looks very nice..
Always wanted to go👍👍
I hope you told them about the water running down the wall onto electrical
Stayed in Jersey many times ove rthe last 25 years. Lovely island (a bit like Cornwall in miniature) but has gotten quite expensive in recent years (and not just because of covid). I have stayed in a lot of hotels that are no longer there (like The Windmills in St. Brelade and The Hampshire in St. Helier) and it seems a shame that there are fewer tourist opportunites now and what's left is quite expensive. I would recommend the Hotel Ambassedeur on the coast road in St. Clements (just across the road from the beach and well laid out rooms with a good on site restaurant) or the Merton up beside Howard Davis Park.
Why have fish and chips in a nice restaurant???Jersey is noted for wonderful sea food 😮Lived there for 6 years Grand hotel ,Pomme Dor Old Court House in St Aubin s all have great restaurants but you don't seem very adventurous when it comes to food🤔
Blimey you haven't seen his other vids then, when he's tucking into Lobster and other sea food? Made a change, that he actually had Fish and Chips haha 🤣
I didn’t realise how nice Jersey was 🤭 Gosh I thought your fish & chips looked yum??😋
It would be great if you could visit the nearby islands of Guernsey and Herm aswell Tim.
Been there? Live there! Great video
I think you can fit 6 in that shower if one person is bent over, one is laying flat on the floor with knees spreaded, while the four standing hold the sixth person in the air.
Watched it Tim I hope u enjoyed your stay in jersey I am not far away from jersey I live in guernsey
Born in Toms River New Jersey 😂 but love to the Original
Im so glad you fixed that lamp shade, it was annoying me so much 😂
Tim, can we please get a hotel review in Cyprus?
Which one?
@@WalkWithMeTim Amavi MadeForTwo in Paphos 😊 we walked past it this whole week and always said WOW at how huge the place looks!
As much as it looked a nice hotel
, I could have a week
In Spain for that ! 😮
All most went to Jersey for my holiday this year, but trying something different.
Thanks to you my wife now checks the kettles, the mattress and counts how many people you can get in the shower 😂.
Love your videos by the way 😊
How nice
😂😂 3 or 4 ppl in the wardrobe!! I almost thought you'd forget about the shower! Glad you didn't. 😊😊
Love the video! I need to visit jersey looks beautiful
You never told me you were in Jersey! Brilliant time to come while the suns out.
Should have come next week for the Jersey Motor Festival.
Been waiting for the moment for you to come to Jersey :)
Hi Tim. Just watched this with my 8 year old son and he was very happy when you mentioned our hometown of eastbourne! He said we live there! Yes we do lol. Thank you for sharing. I didnt like that balcony like you said if everyone out on their balconies they are watching over you. But it's always nice to see new places x
I saw “Jersey” and I thought omg New Jersey! Lol I’m from New Jersey, USA but I live in California now 🎉
ill be back in CA very soon ;-)
Back in university we got 24 into a phone box no where near the record but it was fun, imagine how many we could get into that shower! 😂
L’Horizon is part of the Handpicked Hotels group I believe
All Jersey hotels are expensive as far as I can say . I visited about 30 years ago and can’t get my husband to go back . Pricing a holiday in Jersey in a good hotel, and it’s much the same as doing a trip to Italy
My god that view from the balcony was spectacular...
And I actually think you can get 5/6 in that shower too, bonus!
lol
Sorry it’s a two people shower. You have to compensate for being able to move. You can’t judge the size by jamming people in. It’s like saying you can fit four people on a two seater sofa. Yes it’s possible but it isn’t the correct size 😆😄
@@michellewyles4868 It's how many people you can fit in a shower.
Not how many people can you comfortably fit in a shower and still move around and be comfortable 😂
Wow! Didn’t know there was a Jersey. When I saw “Jersey” I thought you meant New Jersey.
How did you think your New Jersey got its name? Did you even know there was a York before there was a New York?
@@squirrelmanning7889 Or England before New England.
