He came to Redding CA in 1982 I was supposed to go see him and The Tubes but I got in trouble. I loved Eddie Money, from teenage to now. 52 years old now Eddie was just so awesome, he was one of our treasures in the US. Honestly it's a big loss, they don't get much more original.
Thanks for this, Fil. I had the opportunity to catch Eddie Money in Syracuse, N.Y., 1978. Opened for The Doobie Brothers. He rocked the Syracuse War Memorial. Being a fellow New Yorker, I had a strong affinity for him. Eddie Money was a true American success story. Sad day for me.

My band played this song the other night as a tribute to Eddie search Facebook Back in the Day Middletown CT. We are a trio. Thx for watching. Great video my friend. Eddie was a natural.
So sorry to see him go. For a couple of decades his music was always there in the background somewhere, made for some great memories. His voice and delivery were always unique, never generic. Thanks, Fil.
The first band I was ever in (1985) wanted to play this song when we were deciding on set lists.. Back then there were no TH-cam tutorials. It was play, stop and rewind on a cassette tape. Over and over and over............ until you figured out the lead guitar part. To this day it is still one of the coolest leads I've ever learned. Thank you Jimmy Lyon. Thanks Fil. RIP Eddie.
Eddie Money started out as a police officer. Good thing he found his true talent. Helluva stage presence! Clearly loves what he is doing, and he wasn't overstated, excessive gesticulations, but still engages with the audience, endearing them to him. Damn good band too! He'll be missed. Esophageal cancer sucks-very few survive it. One of my neighbors died the same way, and he was an oncology nurse, so he knew what he was in for. I've had cancer twice, it's no joke.
Thank you so much for highlighting Eddie Money. As a fan of 40+ years, I'm heartbroken at his passing. Such an underated musician, it amazed me that everybody knows his songs, but few knew what he looked like. I was lucky; I got to see him in concert nine times through the years. It always impressed me that no matter how late the concert let out, or how many people lined up, he happily signed autographs & took pictures with his fans. He wouldn't leave until every person had gotten what they wanted. He was charming & had a wicked sense of humor. You couldn't help but love him. He will be missed by his fans. His legacy will be his wonderful catalog of music. We can be grateful for that. I'm hope he's jamming with Elvis already. He credited him for making him want to make music.
One of the coolest voices and one of the coolest cats to ever grace a stage. Thanks professor he truly will be missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends
The couple people I know that have interacted with Eddie Money (and literally every single stranger I've ever read about who had) said he was just the nicest, most easy-going person in the business they'd ever met or worked with. That impresses me almost as much as his great performances.
If you'd look up on Google, next to Eddie's picture should be the word underated. While I don't work for Rock Candy records, I've enjoyed the 24-bit remasters of some of his greatest work. I believe they are based out of Britain but are available through import at Amazon. Always willing to shake hands with the fans, he was kind and he didn't have to be. I've worked in broadcasting and security for so many years now and I have met so many that are not. Thank you Eddie for being you.
Thanks for sharing this man. He was all over the radio when I was in Jr. and Sr. High School...you couldn’t get away if you tried! And, he was a rocker who played saxophone!! Great songs, singer and performer. His family was so brave to let AXS cover his illness in their series. ✌🏻

I never quit and am now a sucessful FOH Engineer.
Cool!
I was lucky enough to see him in concert in the mid-80s. You could tell he enjoyed every minute of performing. He interacted with the crowd and belted out some incredible music. Thanks for sharing this, Fil. Rest in Peace, Eddie.
The smartest thing you've posted so far. Such an underrated performer and a home time hero for many in the New York Area. Never forgot where he came from.
Eddie Money will be missed, I saw him in an interview with Sammy Hagar last month, with Hagar's show Rock and Road trip, he opened up for Sammy in the late 70 s early 80's, he was a simple, humble guy, funny and a great musician, I never had a chance to see him live, I wish I had. Very charismatic guy, he will be missed with the array of musician we have lost in the past year or so. Thanks Fil for sharing.
RIP Eddie thank you for the great music. Fil thanks for sharing this video and recognizing Eddie's legacy. He will be so missed but never forgotten!!!
LOVED HIS SONGS 💖😍😍😍KNOW WHY?🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶HE WAS VERY LIKEABLE💖
I met Eddie once. He suffered from alcoholism and addiction. Bless his heart ..may he rest in paradise.
I saw Eddie Money live in 1976. He had great energy and charisma on stage. This was my favorite song by him.
Saw him at the very first Texxas Jam, July 4th weekend 1978 Cotton Bowl stadium Dallas Texas.👍🍺🍻
He opened the season at Pine Knob (now DTE) for years. He never forgot where he came from. He’ll be missed.
Resting in Paradise, Eddie Money was more than a talented musician.. Really connects with the audience.. Feels like the songs are written and performed for all of his fans..Beautiful soul.
Eddie’s concerts were just plain fun, along with good music. Every song/record you mentioned are in my collection. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in choosing the song the way you did. After hearing you sing a bit of Two Tickets to Paradise, I would love to request that you do a cover version of this one. May Eddie Money RIP. 💔😢
I'm thankful for seeing Eddie more than a few times at Pine Knob and Pontiac Silverdome. He was a great performer and he will be missed. My appreciation goes out to you for doing an analysis on him.
Yes, Detroit loved Eddie Money...RIP
Summer of 1978! I was playing Eddie's first album quite a bit! Baby Hold On and Two Tickets To Paradise! Both classics!! RIP Eddie.
Eddie just being Eddie. A great song and a lovely analysis. So thoughtful that you want any proceeds to go to Eddie's family. You're a kind soul.
Favorite Eddie song would have to be "Gimme Some Water"
(Would like to see you review that.!)
That IS a good one!
koo..koo..water
Most every song on ‘Life For The Taking’ have stood the test of time.
That's my second favorite next to Shakin'...
@@veegee916 Blew out the speakers in her daddy's radio.... Great tune..!
Just like Ronnie sang "Be My Little Baby." RIP Eddie Money. You got your 2 tickets to paradise.
I had to wait a day to watch this because I was sad about his death. I just loved his style. A complete natural. RIP beloved Eddie Mahoney.
Thanks, he came to my area a lot. Had relatives here.Always a guest on the radio, really funny guy- should’ve had a show. 😞
Thanks Fil for always pointing out so well the best in these Rock artists. Eddie's contribution Rock music will always be very significant!
Take me home tonight was a great song as well. I think he kinda revived Ronnie Specter with that.
John B loved that one
I have seen Eddie in concert a few months ago. He was amazing and didn't miss a beat! Phenomenal performer! He will be sadly missed.
👍🤟
RIP Eddie Money
He will be missed very much, MUCH LOVE TO HIS FAMILY!!!! RIP!
Sad that he passed. He and his family live in Berkeley. Saw him perform at the Community Center a few years back. He was such a nice guy. We would run into him around town. RIP. Thanks, Fil. you are very kind.
My kids who weren't even imagined when Eddie hit the airwaves, know all the words to this song. Rest peacefully Eddie.
Growing up in the Bay Area I got to see him many times, always put on a great show. RIP Moneyman
I grew up singing along with his music in high school and college. Recommend the younger generation take a look at Eddie Money music. He's legendary.
Saw a show in 1993 at the lovely Sioux Falls Coliseum. My fellow radio announcers said that he was super friendly to everyone backstage, and also drank quite a bit of alcohol. I'm pretty sure the same lead guitarist was at that show, and it was great.
Surprised his hits weren't higher on the charts. They played continuously. Great voice and sing along songs.
