East and West are literally my favorite books of 2019. I really do hope you end up enjoying them! These two books brought me so much joy and gave me emotions I haven't felt while reading in a long time.
OMG East and West are AMAZING!! They're YA and the first one it's a retelling of the fairy tale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" and they're amazing! I also want to read "The Child is in Her Bones" because it sounds great!
East is a retelling of psyche and cupid and its soo good! I read it back when I was 10 and I'm so glad they've done a reprint with the 2nd book because I want East to get the hype it deserves
You're going to LOVE Girls of Paper and Fire! It definitely lives up to the hype. I'm so glad you decided to keep it. I love your channel, keep being awesome!
I silent screamed when you brought up East and West! East is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS EVER! If you are looking for quality fantasy (it's fairy tale inspired), please pick up East! West was written 15 years after East, and is a continuation. I cannot wait to read it! 💖💕💞❤
Omg, the Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein is so good. One of my favorite books now. I love Frankenstein so that might be part of why I like it so much. I recommend you read Frankenstein before you read The Dark Descent because parts will make more sense since they reference the novel but you can read it in any order.
Speak is such a good book. I read it first in my 10th or 11th grade English class. I’ve read it a very times since and it still backs a punch for me. The movie is good as well.
I remember CeCe from problemsofabooknerd saying she read East when she was younger, and being really excited for West! The covers are definitely gorgeous. So is that shade of pink on you! ;)
before u read courting darkness you definitely have to read the preceding trilogy! all of the world building is in them and the story if so much better if youve read them.
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with book hauls. It's so easy to fall in love with some series. How easily do you all transition from one series to another? Do you ever feel like you're not ready yet to move on to another story, another world, different characters?
I highly recommend My Plain Jane (and My Lady Jane, from the same authors), if you’re ever in a down sort of mood and need a good laugh. I especially recommend listening to the audiobooks, they are an absolute riot. 😄💕
East has been my favorite book since age six. My sister walked all the way to the bookstore and back just to get it for me. It's so special in my heart, and now that the second book is out and everyone is reading it makes me so happy 😌 I never thought my favorite booktuber would be reading it, I'm so excited!!!!
The books East and West are based on a Norse fairytale called East of the Sun, West of the Moon, which has strong beauty and the beast vibes. I just bought them and can't wait to read them. Awesome haul. 💜💜
Bridge of Clay was wonderful, but the writing style is very lyrical and roundabout and so it takes forever for something to be said. It's still a great story about a family that fell apart and comes back together. I also read My Plain Jane and it's basically a Jane Eyre retelling but Charlotte Bronte is a character too and there are also ghostbusters. It's obviously not going to be most influential book in the world, but it's a lot of fun!
@I’mnotcool Well I adored it, but Markus Zusak is one of my favorite authors so my opinion is obviously biased. I'd maybe read something else by him first, like I Am The Messenger and see if you like it. That book is much shorter, but the writing style is the same. If you don't want to do that and are curious about the book, it's fairly easy to find the ePubs of books online for free (so you won't be out any money), or you could just buy the book! It's not told chronologically, it's narrated by the oldest brother (who is not the main character), the writing is extremely roundabout and poetic, and most of the paragraphs are only one sentence. The story itself is about how this family came into existence and thrived, then fell apart and are in the process of fixing that, thanks to one remarkable brother (Clay). If that sounds like a story you'd enjoy and you're up for the challenge that is Markus Zusak's writing style, then I say go for it!
I’ve been dying to know whether or not you’d like His Dark Materials since you mentioned it in your books you wanted to read in 2018 video! Hope you love it. Also I felt exactly the same about HA, I wasn’t expecting it to be mostly romance.
I’m so glad to see you happy, looking healthy and at home! I love your videos, I’m most likely one of your older viewers but book love and friendship knows no age... glad to see you with all your books and shelves 😊❤️
This channel honestly gives me life, it's gotten me back into reading and I love hearing your opinions (by the way Edith Pattou has a sweet book called North Child and Robin LaFevers His Fair Assassin series is pretty good)
Definitely read Grave Marcy and the rest of the His Fair Assassin trilogy before digging into the new Robin LaFevers book! I think they're connected and you get more of the characters' stories.
i think you would really like the his dark materials series!!! its funny you were saying one of the things that enticed you about the east/west books was that there was a talking polar bear character- his dark materials has one too!! his name is Iofur and hes amazing!!!
I’m so shocked that you’ve never read His Dark Materials! It is one of my absolute, hands-down, favorite series for young people. It has the most intense fantasy world building, and it also says so much about our world. Oh gosh, and Lyra is so incredible. Please read them and soon! The audiobooks are phenomenal with a full cast and I just cannot even explain how good they are. Plus, you’re right, Book of Dust happens a decade or so later. So definitely read HDM first!
Hey Hannah! The Book of Dust is a prequel to His Dark Materials, and I highly recommend reading it beforehand! It will really help with the story. And also it is an amazing book!
Just wanted to say that I literally had to pause and stare to fully take in that smile in your thumbnail. Absolutely gorgeous and it makes me so happy to see that kind of joy on your face again. Just wow. Always remember how much we love you Hannah! Now to the video!!♥️♥️♥️
The Cold is in her Heart and Girls of Paper and Fire sound so interesting ! I have way too many books to read right now (I already bought so many recently and I really need to finish Elantris from Brandon Sanderson which is taking me forever and I don't know whyyy) but here I am still watching hauls and adding books to my goodreads tbr haha !
The book of dust is a prequel to the his dark materials series. Two more books are supposed to come out. I do recommend reading his dark materials first sice in the book of dust there are mentions to the original.
Hello Hannah, I was wondering, were you thinking about doing an updated version of the Hogwarts house recommendation series? I really think everyone would love it and there are just so many books I´d like to see you sort. Or potentially, hybrid Hogwarts house book recommendations? I know you don´t believe in that concept (me neither) however it might be a fun, interesting video...Anyways, glad to see you and your shelves back
The Book of Dust s actually a prequel to the His Dark Materials Series. I haven't read it yet, but if you want, you can read it before you pick up the original trilogy.
I read both My Plain Jane and My Lady Jane. My Last Jane is one of my favorite book, I would absolutely recommend reading it. My Lady Jane is one of my favorite book, but My Plain Jane was eh for me. I would recommend reading my lady jane first :)
I’m reading bloodwitch right now!! I also love this series so much, such a fun read (: I would recommend reading sightwitch which is like a prequel to the whole series, it’s a short read and really good! Don’t want to say more cause no spoilers😉😉 pick it up when you can though!!
Your videos got me back to reading again so thanks for that... Started reading the Mistborn Trilogy... Finished The Final Empire and LOVED it... Reading The Well of Ascension now ❤️
Your speech is so easy to understand for foreigners. Now I am improving english listening skills and want to say your diction is fantastic!
Keep up the good work!
I agree.
it really is, one of the few youtubers i can understand every word of wo any subtitles
Hannah = Home
And when Hannah feels at home, it feels doubly homely watching you ♥️✨♥️
Will you be doing an uhaul video, too? I find those so satisfying :>
I plan to!
When you said you hadn't done a book haul in 84 years, I immediately thought of Rose from Titanic 😂 (Hopefully that's what you were referencing)
That is what thought too.
That's exactly what I was referencing 😂😂
Irish Reader 84 is an oddly specific number to reference anything else haha !
olivia1910 true haha
You look so pretty in pink!! I’m so glad you’re happy:))
I’m so excited to read Bloodwitch! It is DEFINITELY underrated❤️
"East " is an amazing book! It is one of my most favorite YA fantasy books ever! I'm so glad she made a book 2!
*Why are book hauls so fun to watch?*
Sofia
They let you live vicariously through the booktubers getting a ton of nice new books😂
East and West are literally my favorite books of 2019. I really do hope you end up enjoying them! These two books brought me so much joy and gave me emotions I haven't felt while reading in a long time.
That is a gorgeous edition of Girls of Paper and Fire.
We really missed you with your bookshelf 😂💖
Silly question but is Walter pinkman a breaking bad reference
@@lettersfromkinraddie Spot on!! , You know now I AM THE DANGER
You are the one who knocks!
you look SO HEALTHY! it makes my heart sing...
Lol, when I was recovering from my eating disorder I used to get SO triggered when someone said this.
@@emilytreads When people said things like this with good intent it made me feel so much better.
OMG East and West are AMAZING!! They're YA and the first one it's a retelling of the fairy tale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" and they're amazing!
I also want to read "The Child is in Her Bones" because it sounds great!
East is so good I read it in middle school! I had no idea there was a West but East is one of my favorite fairy tale retellings of all time !!
Ughh, beautiful book covers are literal the number 1 thing you can use to trick me!
East is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE BOOK, it's amazing, I waited 13 years for West to come out and tbh, it was also really good
you have such a calm and beautiful voice and i completely love hearing about your book suggestions :)
Definitely read Girls With Sharp Sticks. It’s soooo good. Definitely one of my favourites
East is a retelling of psyche and cupid and its soo good! I read it back when I was 10 and I'm so glad they've done a reprint with the 2nd book because I want East to get the hype it deserves

I JUST started On The Come Up (one chapter in) I hope I like it 🤞🏽
and yay to another haul soon!!!!!!!!
Vynexa let me know how you like On The Come Up. I picked it up from the store the other day and I don’t know, I just can’t get into it.
You're going to LOVE Girls of Paper and Fire! It definitely lives up to the hype. I'm so glad you decided to keep it. I love your channel, keep being awesome!
I'm so glad you liked it! I enjoyed it.

I honestly can't wait to hear your thoughts on Speak. I loved that book so much. It is so captivating and heart-wrenching and so, so important.
Glad to see you looking so happy and back in front of your gorgeous library 💕💕
I highly recommend My Plain Jane (and My Lady Jane, from the same authors), if you’re ever in a down sort of mood and need a good laugh. I especially recommend listening to the audiobooks, they are an absolute riot. 😄💕

Bloodwitch is FANTASTIC. It's the best Susan Dennard book by far and I really hope you love it :)
East was one of my favorite books when I was in elementary school. You'll love them!
Yess you should so read his dark materials when you get time!-the book of dust is set before the trilogy but not exactly a prequel x
I missed your bookshelves so much Hannah! And book hauls are always the best to watch.
Ahhh Bloodwitch was AMAZING and the witchlands series in general is a phenomenal series!

I haven't been finding many books of any genre that I've been enjoying lately and I'm so excited to read East. It sounds amazing, hopefully it is!

East and West sound like my kind of reads! I'll have to check them out.
Ugh Sadie deserves to be far more popular than it is. What a raw and gritty, but REAL story. Truly unlike anything I've read previously.
East and West are two of my favourite books! They have a fairytale feel to them that is impossible not to love! I would love to hear a review from you
