I love SNL because otherwise I'd never know about several artist I now love. I live so far off-grid and close to our Mexican neighbors, that I go weeks at a time without seeing another human.
It sure has made quarantine effortless, since I didn't have to change anything...
I haven't seen network TV in the last 8 years, the only radio stationsI can get here are Hardcore right-wing talk, "christian" which spews pretty much the same hateful rhetoric as reich-wing talk, and pop music stations from Mexico. Given those choices, I like that I'm learning Spanish through some really good music!

Honestly nothing against Lizzo she is a talented singer. But she was kinda a mess hosting. She broke in every sketch and her eyes almost never left the teleprompter. Again nothing against her you don't expect someone to be talented at everything. Just like most actors couldn't sing like her to save their life. But not gonna lie her breaking kinda ruined the sketches for me.

I've literally never noticed a host or cast member reading their lines but i feel like i am watching all of them read the cue cards in this sketch.
I think everyone was looking at the cards so they wouldn't look at each other and start laughing more! 😂😂😂

Yes, it struck me too (which is why I scrolled down the comments ^^). They are all reading cards always, but most hosts and cast members at least attempt to look in the right direction when they are talking.

I thought for a moment this was going to be a pyramid scheme sketch! When Mikey Day mentioned getting into investments and Dismukes enthusiastically responds “Oh you MUST Paul!” The beanie baby theme was pretty funny tho 😂
But still, the #SNL writers should do their research beanie babies are worth a lot of money, especially vintage ones from the 90s
This is a wonderful sketch, one of my favorites of this season. And another perfect choice to close out an episode. I love the ending, the audience laughter and then groaning at what he got up to. Seeing that type of reaction shows how good this piece was. What makes Andrew such a fantastic cast member is how he can play such completely insane situations so fully committed - you can actually believe what's going on. Even when Lizzo was breaking, he kept going, which just made the sketch even better (it helped that they had such good chemistry). Andrew brings back a lot of the intensity and unpredictability the male cast hasn't had in recent years. I hope he will stay for a long time.
So in your mind.. this was a wonderful sketch? Hmmm.. interested in knowing what else you find funny. You must find Hannah Gadsby to be hilarious huh.
Lizzo's acting and comedic timing really surprised me in all the sketches. Her technique to recover from breaking is honestly impressive.
We’ll see her onscreen before she retires. I know it. And she’ll kill it. I can’t wait!

Honestly, he could probably play a high school student until he's forty.
He's actually the youngest cast member on the show currently. He was born in 1995, which was when SNL was between its bad 20th season and the 21st season, which was the start of its new era with Will Ferrell and Darrell Hammond. And it was also when MADtv came out and those who were disillusioned with SNL flocked to that show.

I remember when we pranked called people on Sunday. We would get the paper and look through the classified for people selling Beanie Babies. Then we'd call them up and start making up fake Beanie Babies and asking if they had them. It was so much fun. I miss being a kid.

There are definitely official beanie babies on that shelf, though several of them are newer than the 90s ones they're referring to (see: several of the big glittery eyed ones which I don't think hit until about a decade ago or later?).

Robot Chicken did a bit with a similar premise years ago (someone’s life savings was in Beanie Babies), though with a different plot line after that
This sketch is part of the idea that I have about like, 50% of the sketches being not all that great.
People always say things like "ohhh SNL USED to be good, but it sucks now!!" no no no. You misunderstand the whole point of the show my friend. Yes, some of the sketches are pretty good. Some are topically relavent. The rest?
The rest are written as entirely bonkers affair with the hopes that the sheer madness will break into some kind of madness, causing the actors to breakdown completely. This is one of the finest examples of that.
I love Lizzo, but I also love that Andrew Dismukes really got to shine in this episode! From Tender Boy to Best Mario Drawer to Stone-Cold Killer. He’s great!
