Nic Cage: "I'm gonna steal the sick-ass treasure map."
Oh wow If they had got Andy Samberg to do that cameo that would have been like totally bitchin.
Omg I totally read that in Andy's voice 😭😭
Where is the map….Tell me….U bastards !
that's high praise
🤣🤣🤣
“It wouldn’t be for babies” was straight outta Tim Robinson
yo what lol
Lol Dude I thought the exact same thing! I'm glad someone else though the same thing lol Even like the hand gestures and the way he was speaking and his facial expressions. It was like he was doing a Tim Robinson impersonation
Never thought I'd see Sisyphus comment on an SNL video.
I mean its the adult tour its not for kids
You know 😉for the kids
The delivery of “people are PISSED” was truly perfect and I love the character breaks 😂😂
everyone’s delivery was so on point in this and that’s including the two immediate character breaks at the end
They barely got one word out. 😂😂😂
To be fair, it is almost impossible to play those lines straight on live TV ... with a dozen or so takes, maybe 😉
Declaration of independence: Business in the front... party in the back
clever
And very historically accurate as well.
And needing an update just like the bi-level haircut.
I feel like the writers aren’t taking themselves so seriously this season and it’s really working. The jokes don’t play out as excessively long as they did before and they’re actually cutting the tension with some silliness now and then. I know these sketches probably look insanely stupid on paper, but the cast is executing it flawlessly. If the rest of the season is this good, it’ll be one of their best seasons yet.
No. That’s Jason’s brilliance
Yeah I’m loving the show it’s just really funny and full of heart
YES. It's so good to see everyone being purely, perfectly silly. SNL's best sketches are always the ones where it either seems pointless on paper or where things just go chaotically off-kilter (Super Showcase Models, anyone?)
Yeah this whole episode was great.
Idk. The first episode was pretty lame. Then the rami Malek episode was pretty meh. But the worst part of this season , is that they put that Asian guy on multiple skits just to dance with music on and be very gay. I guess some people could find that funny the first time, maybe, but not over and over and in different sketches.
This season of SNL has been so surreal and they’re nailing it. I’ve been laughing at every sketch without fail. And this new cast is really hitting the ground running.
the Kim Kardashian episode was godawful.
Thanks!
You guys have low standards. Its been awful
Really? It’s always been liberal but since Trump they’ve gone way down the deep end
I've been sleeping on this season. I need to catch up.
It’s so refreshing to see Andrew showing off his comedic chops and timing. I knew the kid had it but never showed it
Noticed your username. Are you okay?
@@TheAmityElf that's a very caring comment. Sometimes people just overlook stuff like that. So,
Thank you for being you. And , ARE you ok Mr. Want to die?
I still feel like he's too similar to other cast members, id like to see him fill a more unique niche on the show. And i too hope you're ok op
RIP Hannibal
Andrew Dismukes really knows how to wring the laughs out of his lines. He co-wrote this too.
I love everything Andrew Dismukes does
How does one find writing credits for sketches. Who wrote alien thanksgiving for Pete’s sake. Quornels of quern.
So what? Doesn't take much to bemuse you... smdh
@@TheChupacabra just about to ask the same
@@janjohnson6622 who was confused?
Jason's face when he first hears the words "sick ass treasure map" is priceless!!!
Boss ass treasure map lmao
The National Treasure Prequel we didn't know we needed.
I needed it, I've been waiting for this backstory my whole life
I love that you can see Aidy and Aristotle walking out of frame
I had to rewatch to catch it😂
Is there a timestamp?
3:52
I see Aristotle and immediately remember that sketch when he murmured slumped into microphone as that genius performer 😂
Ewa Wu what sketch was that?
Aidy and Aristotle came out of nowhere and immediately broke
It's very re-watchable! 😆
Do you like when they break? I always get this sense of like cheating at your job
I like that Aristotle has an Irish accent for some reason.
This must’ve been how Nick Cage learned about the revolutionary war in middle school.
I was expecting him to appear in that cloud.
I was really disappointed that Nicholas cage wasn’t the future person in the fog
That would've been so AWESOME!
You aren't the only one.
@@COSun25 Beyond awesome. I would have accepted it as the third installment in the National Treasure Series
@@TralfazConstruction Same.
They probably couldn't get Andy Samberg.
National Treasure: The Prequel
If we couldn't get Nic Cage, we definitely should have gotten Andy Samberg AS Cage... only thing that's keeping this from being perfect.
I misread that as Aidy and honestly wouldn’t have been opposed to that either lol
GET IN THE CAGE!
that “no you don’t…” at 1:37 killed me lmfao
One hundred percent on spot
But it’s not for babies…
In case that’s what you were thinking…
For real, I LOVE this new guy. He reminds me of Drew Gooden.
@@Katie-mw7pd YES and he kinda looks like him too
I wasn't expecting Andrew's part to be this funny
Him pouting when they dismissed his idea was everything
Aidy is such a scene stealer. I think her and Kenan are the most reliable when it comes to making a quick impression/laugh in a sketch.
Kyle’s acting has improved so much over time. He just gets better and better.
He still sucks. How much did he pay you for this comment
His indie film Brigsby Bear was good
I think he’s just been given the opportunity to branch out and play more than the awkward, weird guy… i love it!
I loved seeing him in a serious wet blanket role here, instead of being the punching bag in every social situation.
@@BoiledMilkSteak7 boi shut up
This sketch reads like an episode of “I Think You Should Leave” with Tim Robinson
😏
Yes! I had that feeling as soon as he said "it wouldn't be for babies!"
He was a writer for SNL
@@justinc2413 Yes, that was it for me too! I'm glad someone else had the same thought
@@jdfireworks1969jd Yes, whats happening here is the younger new writers from SNL are heavily influenced by the best sketch comedy on the planet right now, seasons 1 and 2 of I think you should leave
Alexander Hamilton: And we should also Include some sick ass bars, so that the people of the future may rap about it in a stage play
Lmaooo
Anyone else has this strange feeling that guy is somehow Nick Cage’s Ancestors?
I thought Cage should have appeared as Henry Gates' great, great, great, great, great *five minutes later* great, great grandfather.
Titanguy why henry gates?
Alex Moffat has me dying in this one. Him and Mikey Day just CRUSHING these characters. Everyone is killin it but those two are 100%
HE WAS SO DISAPPOINTED “no you don’t” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love to see Andrew Dismukes shine!!
That's right folks, America, home of life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and sick-ass treasure maps.
I think maybe we culturally appropriated the sick-ass treasure maps... like, from the Scottish? Or maybe the Spanish.
IDK. Stealing/rebranding is kinda our thing... much like sick-ass treasure maps! ;)
Jason does so great at these assertive leadership roles.
Yeah, i feel like his experience in his snl career was often very supportive, many ppl have mentioned how hes an expert in stalling, he knows how to say his lines clearly and in such a way that it really props up the next line. He knows how to work the lines he gets even if they're short
I love any sketch that lets Andrew Dismukes shine!! I really liked his first season and I'm so excited to see more sketches with him.
Off putting to see Kyle be the reasonable one
People on Reddit thought the ending was weak on this one, but I don't know... Aidy sold it, and the complete randomness of it was fitting. I loved this sketch. Thought it was easily the funniest of the live sketches in the episode. Andrew Dismukes is such a solid player. He's not the kind of cast member that anybody's ever going to talk about, but he's just one of these guys who never breaks and is always on point with his character.
I was let down by the ending actually. It felt really abrupt
Aww it's good to see Andrew Dismukes, he's actually pretty funny when given the right material. I LOVE his skit about The Teacher with Ego
I didn’t mean for it to happen, but it’s kinda cool catching these videos just as they’re being uploaded.
RIGHT!!! SO COOL because I do not watch television.
At first i thought it was an old one from Jason's days on the cast
About as cool as show premieres back in the 90s.
Saturday Night Almost Live 😉
@@toriwisdom8385 I concur…
When saying "sick a$$ treasure map" and " b0mb a$$ treasure map" Andrew kinda sounded like Andy Samberg doing a Nic Cage impression 😂😂😂🖤🖤🖤
This feels like a Tim Robinson sketch.
"It's not for babies"
Exactly what I was thinking
Tim Robinson needs to host so bad
@Jared Pallazo Yeah I mean anyone whos seen Tim Robinson was immediately recognizing his humor in this sketch. Kinda cool I think and I have no problem with it.
This is exactly what working on a group project in school feels like
I love it when Kyle plays the straight guy.
this was one of those stoner pitches, I love it and im here for it
kyle mooney having to work without Beck breaks my heart
"It wouldn't be for babies" line had major I think you should leave vibes and I loved it
Took 4 episodes for me to finally get to say “here we go” about Dismukes. Soon as he gets a head of steam I root for him the rest of the season. He’s got such crazy potential just hidden away
........ "It wouldn't be for BABIES"..
Now I'm gonna watch "National Treasure" 🙌🏾🤣
The costumes and hair were perfect. You could easily spot each character.
The only thing this sketch needed was slicked back Andy Samberg to pop out and say "That's High Praise!" 😂👌🏿
I love how Kyle Moony plays the only reasonable guy, not the one I would think.
if I don’t mention it before, I love jason sudeikis
This took a turn I didn’t expect.
Imagine if Nick Cage was hosting and a part of this. Oh God make it happen. 🤣
I wish he was…think of the material they could choose from, including Adaptation.
I love it that Aidy broke for her very brief appearance
1:29 That is some top-notch sulking from Dismukes
The people from the future looked totally like trinity from the matrix
I 10000% thought they were going to say they were from the new matrix movie lol
Go, Andrew! You threw the pitch that let this sketch get knocked out of the park.
This feels like something Tim Robinson wrote, straight up. And i loved every second of it
Andrew absolutely crushed it! I hope he appears in more sketches
This National Treasure prequel gonna be lit
I love that Jason did sketches that feel both old and new SNL best host from recently !!!!
The leather suits and late '90s techno at the end really made this for me
"It wouldn't be for babies" but turns out looking like the back of paper menu at a pirate themed restaurant lol
Anyone else notice how Sudeikis can't say unalienable and instead say "unaliable" in the beginning?
"And that's great...for the front." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"With no clues to solve, the people have resorted to violence." - I love this line.
Prior knowledge of Nicolas Cage movies is a must for this sketch.
The funniest sketch I’ve seen in a long time. Hilarious!
Really? I thought it was weak.
@@laudanum669 Ofc.
Where the hell is Kate McKinnon lately? She wasn't in any sketches with Rami last week or Kim the week before. She's still with SNL right?
Update* she's filming the Tiger King movie in which she's playing Carole Baskin.
I'd read somewhere that certain cast members are absent for a few weeks to shoot movies or tv shows like how Pete Davidson was last year with Suicide Squad.
i’m pretty sure she’s filming this show or movie in australia right now
The accidental prologue to National Treasure
The prequel to National Treasure
0:47 I think as soon as Andrew heard the strong laughter and knew the sketch was gonna work it aided his performance
Not at all where I expected this to go and I LOVE IT
Andrew's character gives me Tim Robinson-esque vibes
"It wouldn't be for babies." Did Tim come back to write this sketch? Holy fuck lmao
aidy needs to do more skits with this wig
Kyle Mooney killed this, I laughed hard AF lmfao!
Instant classic. This went directly to my all time favourites list
I’m suddenly unsure if there’s actually a treasure map on the back of the declaration…
"it wouldn't be for babies" 😭
Didnt realize this sketch would be a prequel to National Treasure.
0:11 Sudeikis mispronounces “inalienable” (the actual word in the Declaration of Independence), and then Mikey Day mispronounces it again…. 😄
Andrew Dismukes just went full on frat boy accent with everybody else still doing ol timey voices😂😂
I hope there’s a please don’t destroy sketch this week
Wonderful parody of American Minions with a legally distracted Monster 😂😂😂 Wonderful 👍
Huge "I Think You Should Leave" vibes :D
Hamilton fan: “Why are they all white?”
History teacher: “Um, how do I put this?”
Not if they've ever spent an American currency before.
Given how much, uhm, "slave trading" went on back then i really have my doubts about white purity. Yes you Jefferson!!
So this is why Nick Cage had to steal the Declaration of Independence … so he could get to that sick treasure map
Watch the movie ...but basically yeah..
This reminds me of that frat boys sketch with Daniel Kaluuya where they went on a trip with their moms
Mikey Day really does look like a 17th century forefather.
Let’s add a BIGASS MAP ON THE BACK! Golden.
The writing this year is so much like SNL in the nineties just off the wall
This is beautifully absurd. Mooney is a legend
This really explains the national treasure
How is Kyle the straight man in this one...
Someone's been watching "I think you should leave"
Very "I think you should leave" vibes here lmao
Can’t believe Nic Cage and Nic Cage had a three way with this sick ass treasure map Declaration of Independence.
I had just watched national treasure when I saw this. I laughed so hard!
0:43 idk why but just how he says it really sells how goddamn stupid it really would sound if that was considered out loud .
Jason-Thomas Jefferson
Kyle -John Hancock
James -Benjamin Franklin
Andrew -Robert Livingston
Mikey - John Adams
Alex- Roger Sherman
Dismukes is golden!
Thomas Jefferson at 0:14 "How does that sound?"
Benjamin Franklin: "Yes, yes, hilarious"
