So glad I am fortunate enough to have a 2009 Vantage on my drive. A true classic when it was debuted and has worn it's years well. I dare say it's a better looking car than the Merc engined Vantage though that car has grown on me.
Price is nonsensical. But they will sell a handful to their biggest collector customs - no not Shmee, I’m talking about the people with real real money. For everyone else, it doesn’t make any sense. All said and done though what a great car the Vantage has been, and it’s allowed Aston to flourish in to the company it is today. You can’t imagine the Volvo owned Aston having made the Valkyrie or the Vulcan. It was the success of the Vantage that enabled both and more. Looking forward to seeing it’s successor which by all accounts should be one heck of a car.
I agree wholeheartedly about the importance of the Vantage to Aston Martin, and what a great model it is. Not many designs that old still look both beautiful AND up-to-date. Styling-wise, the new model is more of a refresh than a full redesign...and that's just fine. I want one...but at a (not-a-big-star) musician's income, it's much more likely to be the older model. Fortunately, they made lots of 'em...

AM is killing it this year.. with the release of the Vulcan, this, and the new Valkyrie, Vanquish, and Vantage coming soon. Ive seen the spot shots of the last 2 and I can easily say they are the best looking grand tourers ever conceived. I thought the last vanquish could never look better but I was so wrong.
There is a big community of Aston Martin fans, proper fans but how many of those are willing to pay ? Any i'm sure they will sell all of them as usual. ..still great car and great video, cheers carfection
*As aggressive as* this platform looks- and sounds (is that even a flatplane crank?), it's hard to imagine that gorgeously clipped rear end generating enough traction to overcome the push from that Audi-esque front overhang.
No flatplane crank. As for the front overhang, the engine is actually so far back, you could probably stick another one ahead of it. It's pretty much inside the central console. And the gearbox is at the back, like in all modern Astons.
I like the Vantage but the DB9 was better proportioned IMHO and of the same era. Didn't know that Henry had gone to Carfection. Enjoy his work - he sounds like one of us and not telling us...

An old car or not, it still remains to be my most-preferred Aston Martin. Sadly, the closest thing I can have relating to this car right now is to play Real Racing 3's Aston Martin update. T_T
I would buy 4.7 and supercharge it to 600hp, tune transmission, new front bumber just like amr race car, tune suspension and wheel. Save 800k for a island.
I still remember doing test drives in a Lotus Evora and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage back when I had to decide on buying either one of these or my Opel GT. Apart from the terrible (automatic) gearbox, the Aston just felt great, really nimble but sophisticated at once. If I couldn't have my 2 car garage anymore, I would probably get a V8 Vantage, it combines everyday comfort and sense of occasion.
This car in my opinion is one of the few timelessly beautiful cars in the modern age.

the price on this is just absurd, but for about 30k, you can really improve a stock vantage into a super driver's car.
