Am I the only one who loves when the kitties come for their share of fresh milk? Congratulations to your family and thank you for another yummy recipe. Is that cook book still in production?
It looks sweet but cow milk and creme is not good for cats , even if they love it. Cats are lactose intolerant and get diaria from it when its more than a squirt. Kittens can even die from it.
Nope I love it too! When I was little, my grandpa would feed the first milk to the barn cats this way. We milked (my parents) 8 cows but we had milkers, so we just poured into a bowl for the kitties, but i was amazed, as a tiny girl, how my grandpa could always aim just right so the cat could cooperate ❤
Oh my goodness! Sorry if this is a long post, but I so cherish my copy of that cookbook! I almost leaped for joy when I saw it on the thumbnail. I'm only 46, but both my parents have passed and my copy I recently had to tape the binding together because it was falling apart and a few pages falling out, but it was given to my mom from my dad as a gift on their 3rd week anniversary. He even wrote inside the cover, "to my darling wife for her 3rd week of married life from her loving husband Bill, Oct 1, 1966." ❤ A recipe I use all the time in there is the ham loaf sauce. I've never made the ham loaf loaf on page 70 because I usually get the Gene Wenger ham loaf mix locally and just put the sauce from in there on top. I also love the scalloped corn recipe on page 151. My dad grew up Amish and my mom Mennonite and he loved mincemeat pie, but mom never liked it, and I always hated the meat in it but loved everything else. So I recently took the recipe on page 372 and made and canned the mince meat recipe, only WITHOUT the meat. Just the apples, raisins, citrus, sugar and spices. Now we have it to put on top of oatmeal, baked oatmeal, pancakes or ice cream. It's so good! Love your channel. I feel like it helps me stay connected to my roots. Even though I didn't grow up Amish, it's still a big part of how I grew up here in Lancaster Co and I have relatives that still wear coverings. God bless you and your family 😊
Cookbooks like that are such a treasure! My grand parents passed before I was born, but I have my Grandma's cookbook , where she inscribed her wedding date, in 1898!, " now Mrs. ....". I love books, but this is the priceless one❤ PS I love mincemeat pie too, but have never eaten any with actual meat in it!😊
I absolutely love your show. So glad the wedding was such a lovely experience!! Looking forward to getting a copy of the cookbook!! Thank you for sharing your life and talents with us!!
Those photos really capture the heart of the day. How much joy they will bring you over the years. The three little boys look so dapper. My favourite is seeing the couple being prayed over. 🙏🦋
Thank you Ruthann for another peek of the wedding festivities. The decorations were just lovely. I am in the hospital (4 weeks) and have watched all of your wonderful videos and cannot wait to try my hand at canning. Your videos have brighten my long days in bed. Bless you and your beautiful family.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse! I have 4 daughters and know how much work goes into a wedding! Your children have such a privilege to grow up in an environment that many do not have! Blessings!
I have my mother's cookbook published in 1953, the year before I was born. It is well worn and stained but the recipes are a treasure. I loved the three youngest boys in their black suits and shades!
I was born in 1950 and so I love that you have that cook book. I need to find one. Will be making this banana pudding recipe. RuthAnn, your daughter looked gorgeous and those pictures are just beautiful. The reception decorations were amazing! The three little boys looked so cute. Thank you so much for sharing such a special day with us.
Keep on showing all of what you do! Many wouldnt know what we ever did before everything became instant & full of ingredients we do not need..loved your photos of a beautiful wedding!
My double boiler works like a charm in melting and cooking so many things. The wedding and bride/groom were beautiful to see. Having cheesecake instead of a regular cake was a nice and different touch. I never would have thought of it.
Making banna pudding reminds me watching my grandmother making it. Then having to wait for it to chill. Im 65, thank you for the memory. I got 3 bannas on the counter, hmmm think ill make a memory.
Over here in Australia, we call Vanilla Pudding by the name of Vanilla Custard. I have often heard of Banana Cream Pie but didn't realise it was made this way. I love it. My mother used to make the custard and she would slice bananas into our dessert bowls and then top it with the vanilla custard and sprinkle it with cinnamon, she actually liked nutmeg and put that on her dessert. It was a very common dessert in our house and you are right it does take up the flavour of bananas. Love watching you cook, you are my kind of cook. I make a similar dessert type but a lemon custard or pudding. I make a sugar crust and then slice bananas and sprinkle with passionfruit (if they are in season) I make a sort of custard but instead of milk I use water and lemon juice and pour that over the top. I sprinkle it with coconut and leave it in the fridge for a few hours. The dessert needs to sit so that the flavour goes through the lemon custard and it is delicious. I love to leave it overnight but it usually doesn't make it that far. I do have a recipe but tend to wing it most times. Many blessings to you and your wonderful boys.
My Mom started cooking my Great grandmother's recipe in the microwave about 40 years ago and it is so easy. We basically cook 2 minutes and stir, repeat. I did huge batches like this for the seven years that I made a vat of banana pudding for the homeless shelter once a month The wedding was beautiful ❤️
My late mother made recipes from that cookbook when I was growing up! So fun to see it in your thumbnail. My brothers and I are in our 50's and 60's now and it is still in the family. Thanks for the memories!
Wow, what a beautiful wedding, you did an amazing job !!! I know doing the catch up is a lot of work but I hope you take some time to rest ! There is nothing that makes me happier than feeding people, especially my children when they were young, so watching your boys delight in in their tummy filling nutritious cream and fruit just filled my heart with joy ❤ I have been listening to the trial of Adam Montgomery, he beat his poor little 5yr old daughter and treated her remains in an unthinkable way, while listening to such evil, all I could think of is that every child deserves a mother like Ruthann ❤ What a different world we would live in if people would choose love and to serve our families (moms and dads) ! All your hard work and love will carry on through generations of your family !!!!! Blessings
How absolutely gorgeous to watch the boys enjoying making their whipped cream but my joy today has been watching Harrison lick off his finger, all the drips and drops of cream off the table. O goodness, the memories these kids are stockpiling is simply priceless. Thank you Zimmerman fam xx
I have that cookbook and love it! I bought it about 30 years ago when we homeschooled. I bought it from Rod and Staff, that is the curriculum we used. Beautiful wedding!
This is a wonderful recipe; thanks for sharing your knowledge, recipes & lovely life as a busy mom! The wedding looked so beautiful! Those boys are precious! Your girls, too, but they weren’t in this one😉 God bless your family & all that watch🤗🇨🇦
your channel is like a master class in everyday cooking, preserving and growing. I would love to see more of your growing tips too. I really enjoy how you give all the information so we can make our own decisions. I know my Great Grandmother knew these techniques but she passed when I was so young. I have involved my 2 boys in the kitchen, slowly teaching them. They are always asking to try and make something and I say go ahead. Its been fun. My eldest is in the Navy and often cooks for his officers. The youngest is still at home and he loves to make different flavor profiles, loves quality ingredients and is not afraid to challenge himself. Thank you for teaching so many purposeful life skills.
Brings back memories of our one milk cow and how the kitties always followed my brothers out to the barn. Can't wait to make the banana pudding! Thanks for another interesting video. Congratulations on a great wedding!
I always make homemade pudding, same recipe for my cream pies. I put all the ingredients into the sauce pan together, the milk, sugar, salt, corn starch, egg yolks. whisk it constantly until well combined and switch to a spatula until til it's thick. mine looks a lot thicker than this. there's no lumps, no extra dishes and no need to blend or temper. so much easier.
The wedding pics were beautiful. I really liked the one where the little boys had their sunglasses on. So cute!! Those kittens sure know when it's milking time❤
What a cute picture of the boys in there suits!! Thank you for sharing this recipe! I don’t care for bananas but will happily make this with berries or peaches🤩
I have my Grandma's hand whipper from the 1920s/30s, which i just used yesterday! I chill the glass and handle, then whip, it gives a thicker whip quicker. It's also taller but basically the same. I love the cookie crust and crumble idea, yum. Also, love, love those funnels, yes please. Thanks for another wonderful video.
God’s blessing on the beautiful newlyweds! Thank you Ruthann for including photos and videos of your daughter’s wedding! I just love that you and your family share through TH-cam your love for the Lord! I look forward to seeing your videos! 😊
Thank you for sharing your lovely family moments with all of us. My lol moment was seeing Harrison enjoying every spill and spot of whipped cream. Yum!
oh my goodness, watching the boys was so much fun! I loved how they milked the cow right into a glass and drank it. Thank you for sharing that, it was precious!
That banana pudding looked delicious! I really loved how the kids love to be involved, and the end when the cat took milk from the cow it was the cutest ever 🥰
Your banana pudding looks so delicious. My aunt used to make a blueberry banana pie, blueberries would be good in that with the bananas, too. Homemade vanilla pudding is so much better than the instant variety. The boys were so handsome at the wedding! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
When I was a child, living in Australia, my favorite desert was banana custard. We just made a hot egg custard and sliced the bananas into it. We didn't do the cookie base or vanilla wafers.
Yum, my Grandma made this, and floating Island pudding too, which had poached meringue on top of the pudding. I'm in my 70's so you know that's an old recipe. Love your wedding photos, thank you for sharing such a special event in your life.
Love my Mennonite Community Cookbook. It was a wedding present from my mother in law 41 years ago! Love watching you and your family; blessings to you all and keep up the good work!
Your little boys just crack me up. They are so cute!! I make homemade pudding when I do banana pudding, but I don’t do it but about once a year because I never have vanilla wafers. I can’t wait to try it with the sugar cookie bottom. Next time I need to use up some bananas, I will definitely make this. My hubby will be so happy! Thanks for sharing some of the wedding pics with us. It looks wonderful! Congrats and God bless!
Thank you for sharing clips from the beautiful wedding. We always made banana pudding (all puddings) from scratch. There's nothing like it. Nowadays, I make my homemade puddings in the microwave, stirring every 30 to 45 seconds until thickened. I've never had scorched pudding when making it in the microwave. The funnels with the strainer is a winning combination. I have added it to my wish list.
While scrolling to find a specific video I came across this one. I live in Kitchener Ontario 🇨🇦, my grandmother gave me this cook book 45 years ago for a shower gift. I still cook from it.
Ruth Ann thank you so much for sharing some of Stacys' wedding day with us!! Everything looked so beautiful, especially Stacy. I love starting my Saturday mornings with your videos. Always love seeing the children! I was born in 1950 just as your Mom was!❤Patsy
I grew up with the topping being meringue, we'd use those 2 egg whites and beat them to peaks. Pop the banana pudding under the broiler to brown the peaks a bit. As long as it was not raining that is... rains a lot in Florida. Fond memories. My baby is 42 now but his favorite birthday dinner was fried porkchops, mash potatoes and banana pudding. Every year.
The desert looked yummy. Everybody in the wedding picture looked absolutely gorgeous and the three little boys were so handsome Pictures for great memories to share and pass on
I have this cookbook. Bought it in Pennsylvania probably 30 or 35 years ago. Mine is on a ring binder and a I love it. It's a go to book that a use when looking for on-hand ingredients to cook with. Love you show and so do the many others I've share it with...mostly verbal shares. 🙂
My husband and I were given that cookbook at our wedding almost 54 years ago! I still make that pudding recipe to this day, usually once a year when the whole family gets together for Christmas. I layer the pudding, bananas, and real whipped cream, along with graham cracker crumbs made from scratch and toasted in butter. The whole family loves it! We are former Mennonites (we left the Mennonite church when it got woke, if you know what I mean). I love the way you explain everything and you have such a calming voice! I subscribed!
We live in South Central Iowa, almost down on the southern border on Interstate 35. I wasn't born old order Mennonite but, so many of your recipes and family experiences remind me of being with my family, as I was growing up. I loved working in the garden with my family and some of my happiest memories involve canning and cooking with my Mom and Grandmas. And visiting my Uncles Dairy farm. So I just love your videos and your family and I share your Faith in God. I'm quite a bit older but, you are teaching me so much and answering questions that I wish that I had asked my Mom or Grandmas. Keep up the good work! I am telling everyone about your videos, especially my husband! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful wedding congratulations to the happy couple. Make your puddings and custards in the microwave stir every 30 to 60 seconds, no worries of scorching.
Homemade banana pudding is not the same thing as those made with instant pudding. Try making it yourself and you'll never go back! My mom always made a sweet crust called Pat in the Pan crust. Can't remember what she put on top, will have to ask and see if she still remembers. This might have to be another desert for her 85th birday party in April along with the carrot cake/cheese cake combo she wants.
I will agree with you the Mennonite cookbooks I have gotten reminds me of grandmas cooking her family moved away from the community when she was almost a teen an never used recipes so now I cook them an remember all the goodness
The banana pudding looks wonderful can’t wait to try it. The wedding was beautiful. The pictures made me cry. Thanks for sharing your cookbook today. I had the small one but I ordered the one you showed today. I appreciate all you do!😊Regina
I have to share with you that I really love listening to you as you film your time in the kitchen, the farm and being with the kids! you have inspired me to be more proactive in how I prepare our meals with our family! Thank you for YOU.....
I am from the south and old fashioned banana pudding is my all time favorite dessert. My mama taught me to make it years ago. Blessings! ❤lifeatthenutthouse
I love your smile. I don’t know how many pots of pudding I threw out because of being burned. Not good. Seeing your cows bring back lots of memories. When I was a teenager and lived on a farm my mom had a Jersey cow named Betsy. Made lots of cottage cheese and butter.
Congratulations to you and the rest of your family, RuthAnn, on the wedding. I just realized that I had been unsubscribed and missed some of your videos. I KNEW there was something missing, but I put it down to you being especially busy. I cried at 5:36, there was so much love and faith in that photo. Blessings to the happy couple and to the whole family.
I have never used a double boiler to make my Aunt D.A.'s recipe for vanilla pudding. I do have a double walled pot I stir it in. Comes out great every time.
The Pampered Chef tool is fun, but nothing beats an immersion blender for making whipped cream, especially if you are making a big batch! Pudding sure looks yummy.
Love the wedding pics! I have an old Betty Crocker cookbook like my mom has. It has the puddings under cream pies. Instant pudding does not compare with homemade at all. I have never used a double boiler for pudding making but have to be patient and refrain from turning the burner up 😊. Good video, thanks for sharing your family with us, God bless you.
A beautiful wedding. Thank you for including us with your family. I really enjoy your channel. I have learned so much from you. It's a joy when I see your videos. Blessing to you and your family.
My youngest daughter had the same exact green for her bridesmaids over twenty three years ago . The bridesmaids carried a variety of red and white roses . I thought your daughters wedding was lovely .
The pictures of the wedding are very beautiful your daughter looked amazing. God bless the new couple in all their adventures. You videos are very enjoyable I sometimes binge watch them.🐞🦬🐢
Beautiful couple, may the Lord fill their lives with blessings and ever lasting love. Everything looks so beautiful. Congratulations to the newly weds.
I love homemade banana pudding. I remember as a child watching my mother make it. So good. The wedding looked so beautiful. May God bless the newlyweds, and guide them throughout their lives together. Blessings to you and your family from Kentucky.
The thing I love about RuthAnn is she doesn't care if we see her make a mess or it doesn't come out magazine perfect. She cooks like we all do.
Jesus loves you alwaysss❤John 3:16-17❤Romans 8❤
Yeppers, she real & relatable and sweet as that 'nana puddin' she's making.
Am I the only one who loves when the kitties come for their share of fresh milk? Congratulations to your family and thank you for another yummy recipe. Is that cook book still in production?
Yes. In paper back only. Linked it in the description
I love seeing the kitties get their milk every morning!! I was delighted to get that cookbook recently!
So adorable! ♥
This is my favorite comment of the day!!!!
I love watching your videos. There's such a calm about you. It's wonderful. The wedding looked lovely. Congratulations!
I was happy to see that cookbook too. My parents grew up Mennonite in Iowa and probably got that as a wedding present. My grandma had one too.
Those photos really capture the heart of the day. How much joy they will bring you over the years.
The three little boys look so dapper. My favourite is seeing the couple being prayed over. 🙏🦋
Yes. Tears started rolling down my face when I saw the wedding party laying hands on the couple to pray.
I love watching the kitties drinking milk straight from the cows in the morning! ❤
Watching Harrison with the whipped cream reminded me of myself and my siblings waiting to lick the beaters when my mother made a cake. 😋
God bless you and may your recovery be speedy!!!!
Get well soon sending prayers for healing
Thoughts and prayers for your healing. May you make a full recovery very soon.
Laughed when the little guy licked the table clean!
My mom has that cookbook!
What a beautiful bride!!! The boys are adorable,
The wedding was beautiful and your daughter made a beautiful bride. Blessings to the couple on starting their life together!
Good morning to my new favorite family. Blessings to the new couple.
Good morning!!!
Keep on showing all of what you do! Many wouldnt know what we ever did before everything became instant & full of ingredients we do not need..loved your photos of a beautiful wedding!
What a great kid friendly tool for whipping cream!
Omg!! The boys kneeling in front with their shades on!! Just too cute!!!
My double boiler works like a charm in melting and cooking so many things.

Of course, I stopped the video and went to the link for the Mennonite cookbook!
I have the 1969 hardcover version of that book. The cover is so beautiful.
Your daughter made such a beautiful bride! I loved her dress.

Ruth Anne has such a gentle spirit. I admire her very much.

I think Maxwell is the cat lover of the family. Good videos.

Love the idea of using the lifter to stir the pudding while cooking. Also love your show and the way of cooking, thank you for these things.
Thank you for sharing your daughter's wedding pictures. ❤
Wow, you've been BUSY!!! I'm very excited to try out this sugar cookie crust recipe!
Love my Mennonite Community Cookbook. It was a wedding present from my mother in law 41 years ago! Love watching you and your family; blessings to you all and keep up the good work!
I have that cookbook! My grandma gave it to my mom and she gave it to me. I need to get it rebound as it’s falling apart. I treasure it.
In the UK we had "Elizabeth Patten" cook books for essential cooking without processed food. Apart from the odd packet of jelly!
Your little boys just crack me up. They are so cute!! I make homemade pudding when I do banana pudding, but I don’t do it but about once a year because I never have vanilla wafers. The Wedding pictures are wonderful. Prayers for the newly weds. Thank you for your videos.🙏🌹
The Mennonite Community Cookbook is just as interesting for reading as it is for cooking. I love reading it just for fun as much as for the recipes.
Thank you for sharing clips from the beautiful wedding.

Your treats for the family turns into a wonderful treat for us, thank you.
Ruth Ann, what a beautiful wedding!!!! May God bless their marriage always!
Everybody in the wedding picture looked absolutely gorgeous and the three little boys were so handsome
Pictures for great memories to share and pass on
This is the way my grandmother made pudding. Going to try this weekend. Thanks for the demo.😊❤❤❤❤❤
The wedding looks beautiful and God centered. The banana dessert looks really good. Thanks for sharing both.
Thank you. The kids eating with gusto said it all.
Blessings!

Ruth Ann, Besides your amazing homesteading, I want you know you’re radiant. You exude JOY and LOVE. Thank you.
Gorgeous videos and pictures! So sweet! The green dresses were beautiful and the brides dress was just perfect.
God is Good All The Time❤
I love your smile.
Yes that happens on many channels, It's youtube.
I have never used a double boiler to make my Aunt D.A.'s recipe for vanilla pudding. I do have a double walled pot I stir it in. Comes out great every time.
Love the boys getting their own drink ! Fond memories.❤
Sending God's best blessings to the lovely couple
When the video finished, I realized I had the biggest smile on my face! Thank you, I really needed that. God bless you ❤
My youngest daughter had the same exact green for her bridesmaids over twenty three years ago . The bridesmaids carried a variety of red and white roses . I thought your daughters wedding was lovely .

I love homemade banana pudding. I remember as a child watching my mother make it. So good. The wedding looked so beautiful. May God bless the newlyweds, and guide them throughout their lives together. Blessings to you and your family from Kentucky.
