You will do this!!!!! My friend Janelle is the owner of All Roads Studio in Joshua Tree and her work has been picked up by Anthropologie and many many more . As a Northern Vermonter we were instructed in classic weaving and now Janelle has caught the attention of very interesting woven pieces. Also weaving baskets I make interesting sculptural pieces introducing natural bibers such as wool, flax, hemp etc. I can not wait to see your work! Exciting!
Ha!Ha! Yes, I will get it done! My hope is that Rob may take over some of the weaving. He really enjoys it. So interesting about your friend in Joshua Tree...thank you for the inspiration to keep going!
Your nephew and nieces are SO lucky to have you make things for them! The quilt is beautiful- love that sage green color- so calming. I looked up Jennifer Wood's patterns... so classic, and different from the popular sweaters everyone seems to be knitting now. It's nice to see someone knitting something else! I admire your persistence with the weaving, that threading would drive me crazy. I love primitive rug hooking with wool strips which I do when not knitting or spinning- very relaxing. Maybe you should try it someday Sarah!
Dear Christine, isn't nice to get some variety...I really appreciate having patterns that are on the periphery brought to my attention and that are easily applied to some of my favorite old yarns like Peace Fleece and Green Mountain Spinnery. Primitive Rughooking has crossed my path...I am trying to stave it all off ;) There's so much fun to be had, here's hoping I can get those quilts and projects done for niece and nephew..to focus on some other arts
Thank you Sarah for showing us so much of your creating. I'm sure you know you should label your beautiful quilt. I mention this because I recently found a quilt inside a blanket that I know is old but do not know which of my relatives created it. Your podcasts are so inspiring and calm...I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when there is a new one. Many times I watch the past ones when knitting as they are perfect for their variety and lovely for inspiration. You are amazing to juggle so much and do it so well.....I'm glad you can have some "down time" to stay in and create. Sending you sunshine and good vibes. 🧶
Dear Barbara, yes the labeling! It's a habit I need to develop. I will watch Karen Brown Quilt's video on it again. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I am so glad you enjoy the videos. I'll take the sunshine and good vibes for sure! Many blessings, Sarah
Peaceful and beautiful - just what I need. I love it when you “pop” up as I know I’m in for a happy time. Inspirational as always. Keep safe. Love Gail xx ❤❤ PS I love the gentle music too ❤❤
Hello!! How wonderful to have you here! I saw your name come through and recognized it immediately! And then I went to your channel and subscribed. I always watch on my tv where I'm not signed in so I'm kinda bad about that ;). All the same, welcome. I've really enjoyed your videos especially the studio tours! See on the internet! Sarah
Hi Sarah, your quilt is beautiful! Can’t wait to see what design you use to quilt it. You loom is beautiful, I am very tempted to give weaving a closer look. Thank you for sharing the cabled sweater, it is now in my cart. Currently working on the Shifty sweater here in Mid coast Maine. Stay warm & well wishes.
Dear Lena, thank you for all your kind thoughts. I'm glad you found the Carden and hope you take a closer look at weaving. There's been a lot of comments left on resources and on-line instruction. Maine has a pretty rich textiles community as well!
Really enjoyed this peaceful corner of the north woods! I'm curious about these tunics you mention wearing under your beautiful Carden sweater. Off to Ellen Mason's Etsy shop!
I always love when I have insomnia and a new note from you pops up Sarah! Can grab my knitting and catch up 💕 And, now I want waffles, lol. Have a good week my friend
If you want to take any online classes, Jane Stafford weaving school is the best. I had some weaving experience before taking the classes and I learned so much more.
Your quilt is beautiful! I need to go check out that Jennifer Wood pattern; I was actually knitting on another of her sweaters as I was watching-Keavy in some locally grown and (mill) spun Jacob. Your Carden looks great!
Thank you Wendy, your project sounds very soulful! I'm going to go checkout Keavy. I love her designs as I said, I hope it is turning out as you wishes. Sarah
Lovely stuff. I've never been very interested in animal motif fabrics but your woodland wildlife pieces are so pretty it makes me want to use some too! Your nephew will love that sweater👍 Thank you☺
Dear Nina, yes, animal prints can be a challenge...but those foxes were so darn sweet and gentle! Thank you for sharing your thoughts here and many fond wishes, Sarah
Thank you so much for your lovely videos. Would you mind giving us the name of the pattern you use for your smocks that you made and wear under your beautiful sweater?
Hi Sarah, have you seen the Steller Sea Hawk in Maine. My daughter bought a house in Georgetown Maine and the Steller Hawk lives nearby. Her house presently is a rental property so she hasn’t seen the hawk either. Maybe this summer
I've not Pat, I've been thinking about it but am unsure about navigating the crowds. Last year it got a little a wacky with people wandering on to private property etc...Fingers crossed for your daughter! What a site!
Lovely episode. The quilt & sweater are looking good. Thank you Sarah 🏴

I just confessed in my latest episode that I used fabric for a border that I’ve had for ten years. 😂 Don’t worry, you are doing fine.

Good luck with the weaving. I love the quilt top! I’m sure your niece will come to treasure it.
Aw, thank you Sue! Hello and fond wishes!

I concur! I couldn’t live without my Jane Stafford subscription! Well worth every penny!
Thank you! I will look in to that ASAP! Maybe this weekend as I get ready to finish up the threading!

Thank you so much for your lovely videos. Would you mind giving us the name of the pattern you use for your smocks that you made and wear under your beautiful sweater?
Yes, it is the Ann Carolyn Smock by Ellen Mason, I think she has a shop on Etsy. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! Many blessings, Sarah
