I LOVE the touch of Zarbon and Dodoria looking out the window in pure horror. It’s not even just at the realization of what Frieza would willingly do without a second thought if anything inconveniences him. They don’t like Frieza, none of his minions do, but them especially, they work under him because of fear. Hell, I’d be willing to bet they _wanted_ Bardock to win when Frieza offered a fight. I like to think, in addition to the horror, they kinda felt a sense of sadness looking at it, especially since Bardock’s the only one to ever even think about revolting against Frieza to begin with for a LOOOOOOOOONG time.
It may have been for gameplay purposes, but you get an upvote for highlighting a big point. Only Vegeta ever thinks of stepping up to taking on Frieza like Bardock did, but Goku has to finish the fight they both start.

Z Bardock always had this thing that made him stand out as far as characters go, and it's that he starts as a bad guy but he turns into a tragic hero in a very fulfilling way, since it mirrors how Goku turns into a super saiyan.

damn. that look on zarbon and dadoria's faces was probably one of the most human moments they ever got. almost like it they were just reminded of who tf they work for.

But I think the extension was to show Bardock that his son would finish the fight he starts since it showed Goku going Super Saiyan. Because if you saw the original, I realized... Finding out his own son tried to challenge Frieza only to the same result; that WOULD have driven Bardock right over the edge to becoming a Super Saiyan.

Between the Bardock specials and Tenkaichi 3's What-If mission where the Saiyans actually band together to fight Frieza, Bardock easily became a top-tier DBZ character for me.
That's my favorite part of Bardock's special. Dodoria and Zarbon looking on and you know they're thinking, "this is way too much!" They know that Freeza is too powerful.
Day 1 of suggesting a Xeoverse 2 Series: Deion and Dino have Rival martial art schools with your subscribers and u make them earn moves by going on quests or completing a specific challenge in fights. Then you have school uniforms and stuff like that. After 2 or 3 weeks you have a school vs school tournament

I prefer this bardock easy. Here he's fighting to avenge his friends,. Nothing else to it. He doesn't feel guilty for the lives he's taken, someone just hurt him and he wants to hurt them back. In super, he feels more heroic. If he knew frieza was gonna blow up vegeta, he woulda taken his family and left. No skin off his back. And there's the whole saving a kid and stuff.

And seeing Freeza do his maniacal laugh, laughing his ass off while looking at an entire planet, planet that just seconds ago was filled with life, had it's own civilization, contained millions of lives(each with their own personality, hopes and dreams), world thrilling with life that existed for millions of years... being reduced to nothing but spacedust... I know it's all fiction, but man, seeing it, thinking about it, imagining it... to just consider it for even a moment, imagining such an event really taking place... And that's true, saiyans were terrible monsters there, they were doing horrible things and enjoyed that kind of lifestyle... but did it under the rule of Freeza, under his orders. With right kind of leadership - even with fight in their genes, I believe they could be a race that does a whole lot of good instead. Although it may be hard to find such leaders among people of that race... well, hard doesn't necessarily mean impossible heh, one may wish. Wish for a world where Bardock wins or Goku wishes for resurrection of planet Vegeta & it's inhabitants, and then they have an era of unending prosperity.
One thing that always confused me about this story is, I thought Saiyan’s can’t breathe in the vacuum of space. So how tf is Bardock making it so long fighting Frieza’s goons outside planet Vegeta’s atmosphere?
I always loved Bardock, thought he was cooler than Goku, especially in the budukai games where he would think about his friends and then go beat the shit out of the enemy ending up in a spiral world blast just with a punch best ultimate ever!
I love this bardock, but I’d really love if we could get something like this for the new bardock. Old school bardock badass and he has lots of stuff like this, the new one needs a few cool things so people can like him too
