I didnt realize that chon had a dedicated studio bass player for the last couple records. But after watching these videos I can see why.. thats some incredible playing my friend.
I really feel like we need to petition Chon for alternative mixes that do your lines and playing justice. Fantastic as always! And thank you for the explanation.
HAHA. Well that is one reason why I do these play throughs. To give you insight on the bass lines and I try to explain things in detail also. Thanks for watching my man.
I want to like this more than once. I want the "jump up and down with excitement because it's just so good" button. @Anthony - as ever, you blow my mind!
You just keep on delivering man. Every week I always look forward to seeing a new video from you. Awesome to see that your production is getting better and better with each video too. This is one of my favorite tracks and now I can finally study your bass line in depth.
@@acebass123 thanks for making great content. I have been a huge fan of chon for years and love you bass parts on the album. I wish they would have made the bass a bit louder in the mix so I've been listening to your playthroughs instead.
Hi Anthony. Did you listen to math rock or similar genres in preparation to recording with Chon or were you already familiar with their sound, or did you just approach it from a radically different perspective? I just find your interpretation of their music to be fascinating. It’s rhythmically obviously locked in, but you’re outlining the chords in an almost Jamerson kind of a way.
Also mr.crawford, are you allowed to ever release the bass stems? I always wanted to transcribe each note correctly, but its harder to be because of the mix, Thanks!
have you done spike yet? Anyway I'm glad to find a bass playthrough when most videos of chon have been about the guitar. Btw is your favorite Ninja turtle Michelangelo? If they had a band I could probably see him as the bass. Raphael would probably be drums, donny keys and leo on guitar(lead)
Love this song! Love your playing too. Any insight as to why the homies have you do the bass lines instead of Esi? Not complaining, just curious! Thanks for the great vids Anthony ✌🏻
Thanks for watching my man. Esi pretty much just started back playing the bass a few years ago. So to help out, I just do all the recordings and Esi learn the bass lines. It's helpful for him also because it helps him to become better at playing the bass and it pushes him to work harder.
@@sadbassist9651 I kinda felt stupid because i play guitar and indeed thought that was palm muting, but the position of the right hand made me think it was smth else... Thanks though
Did you guys enjoy the little bouncing red ball that highlighted the 16th note accents? 😎
that was awesome
Absolutely! Thank you for the effort of including it!
Of course, cant get enoughh

Would 100% buy a tab book for bass
Hopefully there will be a tab book soon.
@@acebass123 Will the tab book also include the transcription in western notation? I would kill for that...
@@tregreenday8 There's no need to commit manslaughter; I will send you the notation when I am done my boy.

Yes palm muting
What strings do you use? And what bass is that? That thing sounds as good as it looks!
I use Dean Markley strings and this is a Roscoe bass.
You’re the fuckin GOAT, hands down
Sir, you're going to owe me a new phone if you keep playing like that!! 😂
HAHA I hope not lol
This is fantastic, shame the album doesn't have you louder in the mix!
Yeah maybe the next album will. Thanks for watching.
