If Britain was a war zone wouldn't you send your family to a safe place, then stay and fight for your country? or run away and leave them there....

    So full of lies.
    1. he states that it was his dream to move to UK . what proves that he is not running from war but seeking better life.
2 he goes off topic when asked why he left his wife and eventually we get absurd explanation that he simply left her there to die because supposedly if he will stay at home the all will die so our hero is saving his ass.
3 he seem to be pretty happy for guy who just lost his family. I would say that he is real psychopath, normal person would be crushed with grief in that situation

The guy is not being honest here, there is a reason why he illegally came to the UK and passed through several safe countries along the way, he is keeping up the lie and the authorities prefer to impose these charlatans in large numbers on British towns rather than actually uphold the law and immediately deport all people who arrive into the country illegally.
It's the same story in Ireland.

  • @ACrackedSmile

I don't get why they come all the way to the UK. We are an island, they struggle to get here on trucks in awful conditions. So why don't they stay in the countries they first land in, or even the continental ones.

No one will ever forget the legacy of the people of Middlesbrough against people who sought refuge.
And these are The people who claim the superiority of Christianity.

the fact that war can tear apart a nation populated by people with smartphones, white collar jobs and families is an incentive to take them in rather than an excuse not to. After all, if it can happen there it can happen here.

I live in this area, Middlesbrough should be proud that we welcome them in and look after them better than some other cities. Put bluntly we put other area's to shame, especially the rich south. This is it tho isnt it, they are disproportionately coming to Middlesbrough because housing is so cheap. What troubles me in 1 year when the refugee funding of up to 24,000 will go. Each of these refugees will be expected to look for work. In an area already with one of the highest rates of unemployment in the country, which has just lost 2,000 steel jobs, will lose another 3/4000 as the supply lines are effected (ports, transit). The airport is about to potentially go to. Its not fair that we who are already doing more thyan other areas should bare a bigger refugee burden than areas who havent just been decimated for jobs.

    • @jays2877
      @jays2877 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Brigby - I live near Middlesbrough as well. The area's been going down the pan for decades with the only jobs those created when Labour was in power - all those non-jobs such as diversity officer and so on which don't help to regenerate the local economy. Wait til the newcomers are allowed to work but there are no jobs for them or they get offered the few jobs ahead of the local population - there'll be real tensions then. As for the cheap housing there are young people (or divorced older people) who'd have snapped at the chance to buy one of those terraced houses for a nominal price and they wouldn't have been boarded-up eyesores.

Genuine and grateful Syrian refugees welcome i say, economic migrants, get rid. Grant genuine asylum seekers food and housing, get them doing community work and let them whether out the storm over here until such a time as it is safe to go back. That's my opinion on all this anyway

The Dublin Regulation states that asylum seekers have their asylum claim registered upon arrival in the first country of safety. So why didn’t he claim asylum in Germany or France? The answer is because the UK gives free housing, free NHS and plentiful of benefits - Germany and France don’t. He entered the UK illegally so hopefully the authorities will catch up with him and deport him.

I'm german and I think Cameron's behaviour in this crises is a lack of solidarity. There are many others countries, which already have much more immigrants than the UK and you are closing the EU Tunnel... gives the EU as a community a very bad image, but at the same time I cant make peace with Merkel's politic these days

Andy McDonald is a joke, I live on the Meath/longstaff alley garden. It’s only going because of our hard work. They only ever appear when it’s a media opportunity. Shame on Labour, I hope they get it right this time around.

There is another transporter bridge in Newport South Wales, I moved from there to Teesside when I was younger, both were steel towns at the time, felt like it was just like home, just a different accent. Teesside is a great place to live, good shops and transport links, coast and country and reasonably priced property as well as museum and arts facilities. I’ve travelled and lived all over the world and UK, always come back.

It breaks my heart to read at all these hateful comments here. It shows how hostile many people are. It is frightening.
I am German and I know the fear and anxiety that comes with large waves of refugees very well. But I have never lived in poverty, danger, or anywhere near as bad circumstances as these people who are doing everything they can to get to Germany or England. Of course, it is never okay to break the law or take advantage of the welfare system. That should not happen.
I have worked with refugees and if you just listen to them without prejudice, you understand them - how could you not? Most of them don't want to leave their home country and embark on a flight that is incredibly dangerous - but the prospect of staying in their home country is worse than the flight. They are incredibly desperate and often whole families put all their hopes and money in one person who comes to Europe, because he then can send money to the family at home. I can't even begin to imagine this level of desperation and I'm just grateful to be German.
