Criminally undersubscribed channel. I'm a whistle player from Scotland and you've helped expose me to so many brilliant tunes. Thank you both for the inspiration!
DIdn't know these tunes. Particularly enjoyed Old Tom. Is the guitarist playing in standard tuning? (Trying to work out the chords he's playing.) Thanks for sharing.
@@thegoodtunes Hey guys, thanks for the confirmation! I'd come to the conclusion that must be the case, and now I'm going to try to replicate what Sebastian is playing. My wife (fiddle) and I (guitar) love these tunes and are so grateful that there are talented, generous musicians such as you two out there in the world willing to share your talents with the world. You help to make this a better place.
I can't fault the musicianship, but I can hardly recognise the tunes. Sorry, but there's too much artistry and you're obscuring the raw beauty of the tunes themselves. These are dance tunes so need a good, clear lead line, strong rhythm and dead accurate intonation.
@@thegoodtunes I can't do that; I'm a consumer not a producer. But if you want to experience excellent musicianship and clear tunes, listen to John Kirkpatrick. There's a reason that he's been around for so long.
Couldn't disagree more. I've been playing this stuff for over half-a-century and Kevin has a gift for finding fresh approaches to hoary old standards like these, with exceptional lift and drive as well as finesse. I've had the pleasure of playing with John Kirkpatrick and he's an inspiring musician, but there's room for more than one approach. I'm sorry, but you simply come across as ill-informed and patronising.

Really glad to hear that
2 great tunes played at a good speed for English Country Dancing ... Thanks Fellas
Just brilliant ♥️♥️
This is great! Especially Old Tom. What a delight.
Oh yes...and especially Three Around Three! Haha!
I LOVE this one! It’s a hand-clapper!
Lovely versions, beautifully played
That is not the Old Tom of Oxford I know! What an unexpectedly lovely surprise to hear a completely new-to-me and very interesting tune!
Sounds quite like Martin Cathy's version of Old Tom on Sweet Wivelsfield.
Sorry, "Crown of Horn": th-cam.com/video/3a3r0fkh2ic/w-d-xo.html
Really liked both those tunes, and as always, the performance was wonderful!
As usual you guys did a fantastic job. Thanks so much.
Well, that was delightful. Thank you 😊
Brill.
Fantastic music, more please!
Absolutely superb. Interesting and totally wonderful guitar fretting arrangements.
Lovely tune I love the little repeat trick in the A part. Going to learn this on the harmonica. Thanks chaps
This is wonderful ❤️

Inspiring as usual! Great job! The second part of the man from Oxford sounds a bit like the takes of mallow, doesn’t it?

Show us how it’s done, Seymour!🤞
