I had one back in the '90 for my pcs' cdroms, it had a tiny brush and a silent 30 seconds track. Unlikely it never was a dust problem when something didn't worked, most cdroms in the late 90s were just pretty bad
Cleaning must have been done as soon as the CD was inserted the first time by the bristles, while scanning for the tracks. A CD Player scans through the entire disc to identify the content upon insertion and then resumes from the first track. Rest all is gimmick! It is just playing the first track of the CD afterwards.
Wonder how it works in a player that can't read any disc including the lens cleaning disc. Is the lens cleaned by the player spinning the disc looking for initial information? Those "cleaning tufts" are located 1/2 way across the disc surface.

In my experience NO! I have a CARY 306 CD player that my cleaner would not clean. It's really complicated taking this player apart but that is what I did. I cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip.
Great video you have there I have the same problem with the 2 hifi stereos I own unfortunately you don't get a hifi that plays CDs or even a CD lens cleaner in this godforsaken country currently as no one buys CDs here but hope to get the above through Amazon How much is yours cost?
Old post I know.. I think these work quite well for a a build up of dry dust or lint. They don't do so well if the laser has accrued a coating of residue such as grease in a kitchen or Nicotine.
That was fun lol and glad it worked! Now I have to go and google pink noise!👍

Laser moves across the disc.
The HAMA one is good but doesn’t have cleaning liquid. Has diagnostics for dvd and blu rays.
I think the fact that the cleaning CD was able to play already demonstrated that it cleaned up the lens lol.
yes CD Cleaners does work propely it is sounded distorted when it is not being clean by the Laser lense CD Cleaner once a week should be cleaner

My cd player gives me pops and crackles. Like playing a record almost. Can that be signs of a dirty lens?
I think sounds were put onto cleaning disc to make cd player think that is audio cd
Mine came with a bottle of liquid to coat the brushes with

It was around £7.00 from Amazon UK amzn.to/3Ew7XEF
@@UTILITARIANTVUK Appreciate your reply would like to further ask if this can clean two or more systems or is this for just one time use?
@@jethrotull2142 It can be used multiple times.
No they don’t. Mine did not work
If it doesn't work, it's possible that the issue is not a dirty laser.
