I can feel that the group understands the song..bring tears to the eyes We sing this in our repertoire.. I dream that you'd try "bahay" and "bituing walang" ningning (tagalog). :-) "Matud nila" and "Usahay" (bisaya) :-)
it brought tears to my eyes. thanks for singing this song. it feels like i am being caressed by angels. that is a classic Filipino song. I just feel proud.
I'm Filipino-American, raised in the US since I was 12, became a US servicemember, now nearly 60 years-old and a disabled veteran. You have me in tears typing this because the song reminded me of my memories of my dad who has since passed away. This is one of many classic Filipino love songs he used to sing to his children those many years ago. From the bottom of my heart, this song was given justice by your choir's rendition. Thank you so much and God Bless! 😢😢
On behalf of a grateful nation, thank you deeply for your service to our country. We are very grateful for your generosity and sacrifices. Also, thank you for sharing your story. It's important to remember what we do through music can be deeply profound. That is an awesome opportunity and responsibility.
G'day...I'm a Filipino Australian and had the opportunity to sing this song in an all male Capella choir. One moment that is still unforgettable for the group was when we sang this song in an Age care center and there was quite a few Filipinos. They started crying upon hearing this and everyone including non Filipinos cried with them. It was hard to sing with that emotion. I had goosebumps and realized that I didn't feel this emotion when I was in the Philippine choir. I guess we tend to ignore songs that we always hear......Thanks Dallas Chamber Choir..
Thank you for sharing this incredibly touching experience. We're very happy that our performance has touched so many lives all over the world. We're incredibly honored and touched.
I stopped short of reading the comments, because, I felt nostalgic and almost cried. This is one of the songs of our time. I am a senior citizen, 63yrs old.
Miss you mom 😭😭😭😭 she used to sung this piece to make me sleep at night. Wish I could turn back times and be kid again and to hear this again from you mom
I remember my lola singing or huming this while she do the dishes. And ofcourse as kid adults require you to do your obligatory siesta. Nothing beats the summer winds blowing while your lola is singing.
Thank u dallas chamber choir for ur inspiring and amazing performance by singing that famous filipino song, im a filipino, its one my favorite filipino composition and hoping for more filipino songs, thank u so much!

So beautiful- reminds me of my beloved Mom who sang this song to us when my siblings and I were young. My mom was born in the United States but she had Visayan heritage. She couldn’t even speak Tagalog or Visayan but she remembered all these Filipino songs that her mother and dad taught her. Missing her so much!❤️😄
Ian, when I first arrived at our Japan Missionary College in 1964, "Dahil Sa Yo" was a popular Filipino song over there. As you perhaps knew, I taught in Japan for four years before going to Singapore. Thanks for posting this song.

wow! Salamat Po'
Wow this is the best
Im curious though. Why did western choirs started singing filipino classics? I mean it’s beautiful but who started this trend?
I did
Cheshire Hat problem solved in that case. XD
I think when the madrigal singers starting to nail competitions apparently foreigners got curious to their materials
I think a lot of Filipino choirs sings these songs to competitions outside the Philippines during 80's up to now.
I think it's how the filipino folks songs are arranged as well, it's complex and then the tune is easy on the ears 🙂
Beautiful.😇😊
Nostalgia
Favorite song of First Lady Imelda Marcos wife of late former Phil. Pres. Ferdinand Marcos
Dahil Sa Iyo. Pasadena Chamber Máster Chorale.
