Finally got mine in black and nickel. I was worried it might’ve been fake but it had the o stamp which means it was going to the outlet so it was a legit bag. I wish it was made in the US and not China but it being from 2001 I kinda expected it. I can’t believe they brought it back for $500! It’s one of my favorite bags. Leather definitely competes with my Hermes bags and Fendi Selleria bags.
I bought an LV bag *preluxz* two years ago. I took it to the LV store in my town last week to have it repaired. The clerk checked my bag and immediately told me that it was of great quality. She pulled a current bag from stock and compared the tags and I could see no differences and it still looked new even after two years of use.
Thank you so much for this video. I came across this bag in a eBay auction at a steal. I have fallen in love with the size of this bag and function is perfect for me.
OMG, I literally just bought a black 9951, that needs love, before watching your video.😳 SMH. I'll let you know my verdict if the bag is indeed a COACH. The Patricia Schneider bag is a lovely style. P.S. Congratulations on your client finding a limited edition bag. 😀

Thank you so much for this video. I have had my eye on this bag for a while and this will be so helpful in choosing the one I will buy. I did see one where the inner pocket zipper is nylon. Do you know if Patricia's Legacy bags ever have nylon zippers?
Hello Michelle. Loved the video. 🤩 The zipper difference was very noticeable. I have a #9951 which I love. 🥰 I was wondering where or how do I find the resources to learn more about the creed and what it means. I’d love to know when my Patricia Legacy was made. Thank you.
Question I purchased one and the code NoCO4Q-9951 So I’m assuming that is March of 2004?? It also says handcrafted in china with natural glove tanned cowhide. I just got nervous that it said it was handcrafted in china. I wish I could add a picture for you to see
You can email me at BirdyBloom_rehab@yahoo.com but all of that lines up as ok. The classic style Bags were being made in China in the early 2000’s. Some people say that they don’t like these bags but I do like the leather on them, the classic styles that is. I am not as much of a fan of the newer styles in the 2000’s.
Help! I think I may have just "won" a fake on Ebay! Looking at the Ebay listing photos again, I just noticed the undersides of the brass buckle hole rivets are splayed. Not smoothly round. By splayed, I mean, fanned out like a daisy. I've watched your video closely trying to get a good view of the undersides of the straps, but could not tell about the buckle holes. It just seems a fine Coach bag would not have such shabby details. Am I right? I'll write the Ebay seller to ask her to put my purchase on hold. Hope hope hope to hear from you here.....and soon! Thank you!
Well I really can’t say for sure just by this one detail. All I can say is Coach was handmade and as many people may think there should be ‘perfection’ this is just not the case. But even in the imperfections, these bags are extremely well made and not ‘sloppy’. eBay has a good return policy. You can post pics of your bag and creed in Coach Counterfeits on FB, in the Purse Forum under Coach Authentication or even in my FB group Coach EyeCandy (though this isn’t the purpose of the group there are some really good authenticators in the group). Best wishes! eBay will also force returns on inauthentic items!
Thank you!!! I don't do FB, so I'm so glad you are here! I did some online research of other 9951s last night. From what I could find, as not all showed underside of the strap, but all that did had smooth round brass buckle grommets on both sides of the strap. Not splayed like a daisy on the underside, which really does look cheap. It would show, too, while wearing the bag. Wish I could post a photo here, I think you'd agree. My guess is the original grommets may have fallen out of the strap, and someone replaced them with whatever they could find at a hardware or craft store. Smacked the grommets in with a hammer, that's why they were splayed on the underside. Anyway, I took screenshots online and sent to the Ebay seller last night. Got an email this morning saying I had been refunded. Whew. I'd say buckle hole grommets are another thing to watch out for. Be sure to see both sides of straps in photos! Again....THANK YOU for your authentication services here!
Wish I could describe better here. By brass buckle hole grommets I mean the rows of holes on both ends of the shoulder strap, used to adjust strap length. Caveat emptor (buyer beware)!
@@1viridis oh I know what you are talking about. Again, I can’t say for sure if the bag you are referring to is authentic or not but, that is actually normal. This is hardware that has been used by Coach on authentic bags. You will see both the smooth backing and the splayed backing of the grommets. If you would like for me to still look at the bag then you can email a link from eBay to birdybloom_rehab@yahoo.com Happy to help if I can but also have plenty of experts to ask if I can’t personally say for sure;)
I noticed that you didn't say if the fake bag had the same ykk zipper pull as the authentic one. I was told that none of the fake bags will have the ykk so I'm really curious to know if the fake bag has the ykk engraved?!
It has the exact same zipper. That is False information that counterfeits don’t have YKK zippers. They absolutely do. Also, Coach used a lot of other types of zippers so you will not only see YKK for them. Thanks for your comment and question!! 🥰
Great video! I just thrifted this bag and I was wondering if it was fake. It does have the strap w/the silvertone. But it has the large zipper with leather pull like your real one, has the short line under the 'No' & has the raw backing on the inside pocket. But, the edging around the inner zipper isn't rolled ... but it doesn't look like the fake one you showed. It looks good, but isn't rolled. The leather doesn't feel like my 9966, but it doesn't feel like fake leather. What do you think I should do? I was going to rehab it - dunk and condition. Now I'm conflicted! LOL
I always say that the strap is removable (therefore replaceable) so you can’t decide just on that alone but mismatched hardware is a common thing seen on counterfeits. Counterfeits can also have all appropriate hardware by the way. There are varying degrees of fakes from good leather to bad leathers and terrible plastics. These bags were faked A LOT. Ask about it in a group. I can’t tell you for sure based on your info. You can also email me at Birdybloom_rehab@yahoo.com As far as what to do….if you are getting it just for yourself and you don’t care then do what you wish! If you are getting it to resell or you do care, then demand your money back if it ends up being counterfeit! I will warn you that some counterfeits can change texture significantly after being washed. Best wishes!
@@birdybloom2 thanks so much for responding! I’m going to wash it and see if it does change texture / feel of the leather. I’ve had a fake & real Basic Bag.
