Thanks for posting this! I was planning on using INav but now I am seriously considering ArduCopter. I had no idea it was so capable for mission planning. Thanks Lee!
Really, really interesting! Thanks a lot, Lee! 😃 Some day I'm going to do something like that at my parent's farm. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I know I'm not ready for this but as soon as I can I'm building a quad just for GPS . Thanks for the video and information on how to set it up. And Thank you to Ben for your help.
Lee, I've enjoyed your videos for several years and I'm still waiting for you to do at least one series on the ArduRover firmware. A relatively inexpensive ⅛ scale truck makes a platform big enough to get through grass and gravel. I've played around with it some myself but I would love to see you do it as it's the one thing you haven't done. I seem to remember that a couple of years ago you said you were going to do it, but maybe it was just wishful thinking. I think trucks and boats would be a popular addition, but you know your channel best. Thanks again.
Great video Lee. Looking forward to more of the same. I have followed u & purchased the Crossfire & connected Bluetooth to my Mac Pro running Bootcamp/Win10/Mission Planner. Nightmare getting Bluetooth going but ok now. Model ZOHD DART XL, with Matek F405 Wing. Keep up the super work, good to see you on LDO.
I think its best to put the throttle stick in the middle just in case you have to take control of it quickly. A few years ago my friend flick to stabilize mode without realizing the stick was in a low position, the hexa just drop like a stone thankfully only the landing gear is slightly damaged 😬
I like using the "Spline" feature when flying missions with my hex - enabling spline smooths out all the heading changes, so instead of turning sharply when it reaches a waypoint, it will just curve gently onto it's new heading. Care should be used with spline though, because it's smoothing out the route it takes, it can overfly areas that it would not of done if it was not using spline. I use spline mainly when i am filming and want a nice smooth course. Hope you or Ben also make a video that covers "Terrain Follow", if you live in a hilly area terrain follow is a godsend, saves having to workout all the height changes manually.
Great video 👍, once again. How ever, if possible it would be nice to get a video showing how to get telemetry on the frsky QX7 from the Matek 405 wing board using a R9 slim receiver. Would be nice to hear battery voltage, amps , alt etc from the radio.. Thanks
Awesome video! What is the AUW for this quadcopter and what would be the max weight that you would be comfortable carrying with these Tmotor 2216 880kv motors?
I have looked into your videos regarding Mission Planner, but I did not seem to find any video that gives a tutorial of using Pixhawk 4 with Mission Planner. Could you recommend me a complete guide video/site?
The hardware makes no difference to how mission planner works and I've created a number of videos. Please see this video - th-cam.com/video/P4soR6QgOk0/w-d-xo.html - that should help you find those videos and help you find the answers you need quickly. The ardupilot documentation is a wealth of information too... Best of luck!
Hi sir i want to know that can PIXHAWK CUBE ORANGE Power Brick mini power 4 escs for quad setup as i have heard tge output of power brick mini is just 30Amps
Hi , can you connect a camera and transmitter to this pixhawk controller ; if not how can you see , when you flight far away from PC ? Thanks for answers
I'm guessing you are not a regular viewer. You can use it. Google something like 'Pixhawk osd painless360' and you should find my video on it.. Best of luck
Is there any way in pixhawk to set up the Yuneec type Curved Cable Cam (CCC)? The main difference is on the CCC you can fly to a location that you want to be a waypoint, and aim the camera to frame a shot, and click save waypoint. The gimbal position as well as the aircraft heading is recorded. When I ever try to do this by map alone its almost impossible to know exactly what the camera will be looking at especially if a long lens is being used. Thanks
May I ask question about MissionPlanner:I detect target 's GPS coordinates during the flight. How can I add this GPS coordinates as a new waypoint during the flight on AUTO mode.
Hello. could you kindly tell me if there is a way to adjust dead band like there is in betaflight. I've been discouraged from using my APM because of drifting and I know it could be corrected but no matter how much research I do I can't find a way to set dead band in mission planner
If you have a Mavlink connection to the FC then you can upload and download mission files. Mission Planner doesn't care how the connection is made - USB. Radio, BT. Best of luck!
I followed your directions and it few greast. I tried to fly it again but it did not respond to the flight plan nor the Position hold either. Do I need to reload this everytime I want to fly a pattern? I have crashed a couple times since so do you think the crash may have messed up the information I loaded up earlier?
Ive been using a android tablet with QGroundControl on my pixhawk multirotor. Is the Mission Planner for android the same as this? One thing I didnt see was the ability to control orientation of th drone as in a PointOfInterest. Is there an option for that? I hope mission planner will work on the tablet, I have no way to take a computer with me to the field.
What happens if the control radio link goes out when it's in auto mode flying through waypoints? The mission is running on the model itself but if the tx failsafe, does it go into failsafe or RTH? Or can we program that too?
I just ordered parts for an ardupilot 4-inch build, and I'm wondering what the hardware interface is between the computer software and the model itself. Is there a USB transmitter that does all the telemetry? Can I plug in my QX-7 over USB and have that talk between the model and the computer? (Commented before watching the whole video, and yes, I know a 4-inch ardupilot is silly, and that's the point)
Great video! Thanks a bunch Ben, I love your concise and to the point explanations.

Another great episode. I’m truly enjoying this series. Looking forward to the next one.

I've done that with X series on the channel a few times. I don't use R9. Best of luck

Is there a way to plan (and store) multiple different missions that you can individually activate from a computer?

Great content.
dear sir
is it possible to adjust a Flight controller(e.g. pixhawk , ....) to initiate a mission and auto launch at a pre_determined time by itself
Not sure, I've not seen that in the documentation. Why would you want to?
Thank you Lee, great video and very helpful as always. Would you consider doing the same for qgroundcontrol or are you focused on ardupilot?
Maybe in the future of the series...
Top muito bom mesmo
Can I use any remote control to operate the drone and if so how to configure one to work with it ? Thanks.
th-cam.com/video/4iqKp-7RQkk/w-d-xo.html
If control signal lost, drone still on plan? can it return to luanch?
You can set it to do either... Happy flying!
how you build your drone? you did video about that...
Yes, see the link to the series in the video description.. Happy flying
@@Painless360 sweeet! thanks 🙏
Hi friend? Could you tell me what version of mission planner did you use? Thanks and have a nice day!
The latest. Happy flying

What is the maximum distance you can fly your quadcopter before it disconnects from your radio controller
It depends. See my video on flying further. You can set up a mission to fly out of range if that is allowed where you live.
@@Painless360 thx man
Do I need a special transmitter for ArduPlane?
Nope, see the rest of the series..

Are you able to plan a mission when using crossfire and mavlink ?

So then what is the benefit of having the 3dr telemetry device was trying to not use it since it’s on the 915 MHz and so is crossfire
Video coming on Telemetry as there are lots of options and reasons to have it.. Stay tuned!

You can program that too.
Is there anything that could possibly be better than the CUBE? I can’t imagine what. Definitely not dji!
