Good Job. It sounds great. Brings back memories. I had a 1972 (2) door with stick shift with the steering wheel on the left side. Wish I had it now.

Rare car! My grandfather bought his brand new in 1975 in Norway. My dad had it from the mid 80`s and scrapped it in `91 I think...it rusted bad... But I kinda wish I had it now..

The insulated pipe is the automatic choke heat activator.. when I fitted extractors to mine 32 years ago I transferred a new pipe to extractors so choke would still turn off when the car warmed up

My second car was one of these & Ive owned two others , common issues with these beasts is the automatic choke system mucks up & can cause the throttle linkages to seize up, believe it or not, from memory and we are talking quite a few decades ago now, the temperature sensing is tubes into the exhaust manifold & the tubes corrode & let exhaust fumes & tar enter the choke chamber that has a bi metal coil in it , & the tar gums up the works !. I have successfully re built the carby in the second RT104 I owned , this car had an auto trans in it and had done around half a million K's, the worst thing with these is the timing chains don't last, they have an upper & a lower chain & they only last 80000 Km's :(, if I recall correctly ?, otherwise as far as I know, besides the choke issue, they are pretty bullet proof, although my first one's engine got taken out by the recon radiator that split at the bottom, so all coolant went out underneath the car, & in those days a water level sensor wasn't a standard fitment ! :((((, so I had no idea anything was wrong until the car started running rough & loosing power ! :( , temp gauge actually went down ! , useless without any water in the cooling system as it turns out !, funny that hey, only very not funny !, anyway good luck with your project, hope it all goes well, I wish I could grab one of these & restore it, anyway cheers n thanks , Paul.

Good job getting it going again mate.
    I’ve got a 75 rt118 wagon that’s a tidy little rocket.
Bloody difficult to get parts for rt104’s and rt118’s that are in decent condition though.

Mate, stoked for yah getting it running so can be shifted around. I’m in NZ and rescued one last year similar condition, so I know your pain in just wanting it to run to be easily moved. I had a blocked pickup inside the fuel tank and clutch issues but she’s moving now. Same situation long term project. You on instagram I’ll send yah a video of it?
