The way the original Christopher reacted to the brother's death was so heartbreaking and real. Honestly, those 5 seconds were some of the best male crying I've seen in film.
Compare the scenes in both films where Chris cuts Cathy's hair. In the original, Chris is much more gentle and makes an effort to make her hair look somewhat decent after the grandmother sheared off Cathy's long locks. In the Lifetime movie, when Chris can't remove the tar the grandmother put in Cathy's hair, he just hacks her hair off, leaving her with an awful hairdo that looks like a bad attempt of looking like a punk rocker. Chris would never have cut Cathy's hair like that in the book.
I like both Christophers but really the first Christopher after having read the book multiple times clearly was Chris come to life.Agree about the cutting of the hair
Mason Dye was 20 when he played Christopher, so not that big of an age difference. Older actors were hired for the 1987 movie because the incest was part of the original script. Dye came off best among the younger actors in the 2014 TV movie. Jeb Stuart Adams has a sensitive quality which works very well.
That's true. But I still felt Mason Dye looked more like a teenager than Jeb Stuart Adams....but I agree that Adams sensitive nature worked well in the movie.
I know. I didn't have much experience with public speaking when I made this video. I've had a lot more practice since then, and it shows in my more recent videos

If you're worried about doing the public speaking thing, maybe try doing vocal exercises so you don't end up hurting your voice too much. There is a lot more tenderness and compassion in Chris in the first film
To be fair, Chris did talk about stealing money and jewelry in the 1987 movie to aid them in their escape.

I liked both actors but the remake was still better because it was way closer to the books.
