    I'm a painter with a degree in coatings and paint. I had been laid off because of the COVID. I took up acrylic paint pour because I love to paint even though it was quite different from painting an airplane. I watched some good artists how they mix the paint and just didn't get the same results even when following their instructions to the very last detail. I've done several experiments and I'm getting better. Your explanation of the color theory and consistency is spot on and I can understand now layering my paint. You are the first I've came across that explains things correctly and isn't making up stuff because they don't know and there stuff turns out amazing anyway. I will subscribe to your channel.

    Awesome video! I am a mixed media artist, I work with torn paper and glue to create collages. I really wanted to do paint pouring but I didn’t understand how mixing all the colors worked. I have watched numerous videos, and most seem to want you to buy their art or products - with little clarity on technique.
    Your video made it click for me. I tried a few quick 5x7 canvases from the Dollar Tree and it finally worked.

      Red + yellow=orange
      Yellow+blue=green
      Blue + Red= purple
      Mixing adjacent primary colors gives us the secondary colors.
      If you create a wheel with three primary colors equidistance apart you can see where the secondary colors are on the lwheel. Colors directly opposite from each other you are looking at complimentary colors which create gray (true primary colors to start) .
      .millions of colors can be created using just these primary colors.
      But remember, the rules are totally different for digital color changes.

    I love your dynamic end result. I like a bit more shine in my artwork and to get it I add the Gac 800 from Golden and that also allows me to leave paint thicker without cracks. I make up a mixture of Gac 800 and Floetrol works very well. I really appreciate that you don't add water to your mixtures. I really love the patterns you get and the color separation seems good even when you make green, it's a nice green . I appreciate seeing another artist on TH-cam, not sure how I missed you before this. I am subscribed now . Thanks for the inspiration.

    This tutorial has been very informative about how to the separate color wheel colors by adding white in between the warm colors and black in the darker values paint. Thank you very much. I have a question. Was the quite great amount of floetrol into the blue color responsible for the many cells in your panting?

    • @zlatarabinovich
      @zlatarabinovich  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It easily could be the factor. Just be careful, if you will put too much of Floetrol it may mess up all painting. The best is when all colors are the same consistency.
      Thank you! Good luck with the painting.

    Thank you very much for the tutorial. For me consistency and amount of paint are the challenges. But I appreciate your teaching basic primary colors and the result when mixed together. That part is easy enough but I like metallic colors and find mixing copper, Zinc , gold, etc. The rules aren't so easy or straightforward. I'd love to hear. you explain how to use Metallics with brights.

    This is so informative.! Thank you! I have a colour wheel and try to understand it... but so confused. I wzs thinking of a way to use up my left over colours and if I separate and group them as you suggested, maybe it will create something... but at least it won't be muddy!

      It could be very confusing. Check out my TH-cam video on color theory. Good luck 👍

    Absolutely beautiful results and thank you for your clear explanation - layering my paints now makes more sense, as does use of the Floetrol!! I’m a newbie at all of this!!! Also, you remind me of a young Joni Mitchell - the Canadian singer and artist!!!❤
    Happily subscribed!!!💫☀️🥰

    Hi ...I just found you....better late then never....I'm just about to start and the explanation of colors you gave is incredible....one question....if you can't get flortrol what can I use.....thanks in advance....I do see a lot of people using glue?

    • @zlatarabinovich
      @zlatarabinovich  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are very welcome! Yes, you can use glue, but it’s a lot of try and error before you will get the right consistency. The Floetrol makes it easy. You can order it online. Good luck!

    Hello Zlata, I am so new to this pouring. Sometimes I feel anxious about exploring colors ! Maybe I should stop over thinking my steps ?

      Hi Jerry, I know you didn't ask me so I hope you don't mind me answering :) I've been acrylic pouring for a little while now, and yes, you are absolutely right. Don't think so much, just do it. My technique hasn't changed much since I started, but with practice I've tweaked it to where now I'm getting beautiful results. It took time and patience. Just keep going and you will start to get a "feel" for what you're doing and where you need adjustments (anything from paint consistency to the way you tilt the canvas might need adjusting, and with practice this will come to you intuitively).

      Each day I come up with ideas on how to create native american design or colors ! I'm from Arizona " Apache" at this moment, I'm taking a break from pouring, doing a bit of abstract painting .

    I love your explanations of why things work. But can you tell me the proportions of Floetrol to paint please?

    • @zlatarabinovich
      @zlatarabinovich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! It really depends on how liquid is your paint. Some could be thick, some thin.
      Just check the final mix - it’s should flow

  • @robertawills7219

    That is beautiful. I noticed that when you added the black you held the cup higher? Was that too make it go through the paint? I see that many cells are serrated by black lines? Is that what causes it?

    • @zlatarabinovich
      @zlatarabinovich  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Black is working as separator between different sectors. Watch my latest videos on that. Good luck!

      Silicone oil. But sometimes you can get it just from a Floetrol

    This is a great video! I just did my very first paint pour yesterday and I was just curious how much paint you need to tip off of your canvas and how much paint can you actually leave on the canvas for it to dry properly?
