Played this game so many goddamn times during my childhood. It's surprisingly intuitive and you can really make various types of metal/rock music with this.
I'm dead sure this flash game is what most people use nowdays to make a hit metal song.

I love seeing Nik do some old stuff he used to do and bringing the game more hype so COOL 😎
The fact that Punk-o-Matic 2 is a free online flash game and has held up so well for like 14+ years or whatever is awesome. I remember playing both versions so much as a kid/teenager and I'm glad that people still remember it and use it to make cool songs. PoM was super ahead of its time and I'm forever thankful that the devs made it.
The real question is when are you going to record this for real?

I had no clue this game still existed! I would have assumed it died with the 'wild west' internet days. I liked making pop punk/ skate punk songs with this even though I was a metalcore kid.

I've tried to use Punk-o-Matic to try and write Prog. It kinda works? Lol you can use the cutoff tool or overlap tracks to make bars of 3, so odd time sigs are in the question 😂

Maybe you should make your own Metal-o-matic game. Get different people you know to contribute dumby thicc riffs.
This game should smash with those sports career modes (when they're good) in a modern game. Throw in some Guitar hero and ill bust a fat nut. Have similar mechanics in song building to punk-o-matic, throw in a WWE or Madden-like career mode, in depth customization to members, props, pyrotechnics, throw in basic effects and "production" sliders, go from a shitty little venue to MSG. We've got the ai now that you'd have a half decent judging or critique to the songs, maybe have a management aspect to the game where you have to choose between contracts and tour lineups. The closer the style your made songs match with the others, the better rewards in the career. Damn I wish I knew how to code.
