      Honestly, it’s insane that they even figured out not only that going through the leg was one of the best ways to help, but that they then went and figured out how to do it!

    I have a brain Aneurysm.
    My surgery was on July 1st.
    Unfortunately the Aneurysm couldn't be treated.
    Thanks God still 5 mm.
    And has not ruptured.
    Now I have to consider one of these options.
    My Mom had an stroke, she had 4 Aneurysm back in 2003.
    She got the clipping surgery.
    They put 3 clips on her brain.
    Now she is 64 years old living her live.

      If one of your parents had it. Then consider clipping surgery, before that discuss with your doctor the Anatomy of your brain, and location of the Aneurysm.

    wait they send platinum coils onto the aneurysm? is that safe? i mean what if the coils dissolve and the contents of the metals gets into the blood?

    • @haranyan5420
      @haranyan5420 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's why they use platinum. Because it doesn't disolve or react with anything in the body

    • @therach7841
      @therach7841 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The body covers the coil with epithelium (tissue which lines openings of the body). After that, the material no longer has contact with the blood stream. Also platinum is a safe metal for implants. It's an amazing procedure.

    If internal elastic lamina can't restore its elasticity and flexibility, it's impossible to
    really cure brain aneurysm. Due to calcified brain artery, aneurysm does generate.
    In other words, those AGEs (advanced glycation endproducts), MG (methylglyoxal), etc.
    should be cleared from internal elastic lamina.
    God's mercy nano-medication should be the last-ditch treatment for brain
    aneurysms.

      @@leelakrishan7453 Neurosurgery is a 7 year residency in the U.S. So that's 4 years undergraduate study + 4 years of medical school + 7 years of residency = 15 years of study after high school!
      Neurologists (like me) have a 4 year long residency. I commend the neurosurgeons who work grueling hours for many years to be able to do absolutely amazing things like this and change people's lives. I've seen them in action for years and am still in awe.

    OK I've always wondered this about endovascular treatments. How do you get the catheter to go through the correct blood vessels to reach the right destination in the brain?
