I actually make them;) I got my jars from Hobby Lobby on Clarence. However you can order them
Off of Amazon. Here is a link;)

Then I will just triple my batch when mixing. That way I have the color readily available for when I need it:) With the four ounce jars my mixing ratio is 3 parts thinner to one to two parts pigment depending on what I want to achieve:)
Happy painting my friend and thanks for watching!

I’m curious if it’s possible to lighten the skin tones of a biracial/black vinyl reborn? I purchased a kit that’s already painted but it’s darker than I expected. Is it possible to lighten/soften the darker shades?
Thank you for your tutorials! I’m going to be using your videos to help assist with creating my first reborn very soon!❤

First of all thank you for watching! And I’m so excited for you to start painting! You will love it:)
As for lightening already painted kits, I wouldn’t recommend trying. Two reasons. One, if you don’t know with 100% certainty the type of paint originally used, you risk compromising the original paint. Not all paints are compatible;) Two, you can always adjust the tint and tone of your paints while painting but after it’s been completed, it’s almost always impossible to lighten without stripping.
However, If you know your paints are compatible you can try neutralizing or toning down the overall color it’s casting (If you have never painted before I wouldn’t recommend trying it on a doll your not willing to screw up).
Thanks again for watching and great question! 😁

      @@AlzsNursery,
I actually purposely purchased a completed replica kit to practice on so I don’t mess up any of my authentic blank kits for my first few go arounds that I will be giving to my young grandchildren. If they ruin them, it’s not a big deal and hopefully gives them practice on properly caring for them for when I will eventually give them an authentic finished kit.
I’ll be using air dry paints and DecoArt Americana Soft Touch finish with Diatomaceous Earth and water mixture.
I figured if I can successfully lighten the finished replica then I can move onto my authentic kits without too much anxiety of messing them up too horribly lol.
I would rather keep the first few rounds of practicing on replica kits that can be tossed without too much thought and worry about money being tossed as well.
I’m really excited to eventually move onto my first authentic kit Chrissy from BB, she will become the sister to my Honey and Johanna❤️ Then my Pickle kit will be next to complete ❤️

I’m sure you will do great! Art is subjective so as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters! 🤗

@@Leesie77 One thing that has been weighing on my mind that I also wanted to mention. Just in case you were not made aware as you are just getting started.
when you say a “replica kit” , just make sure you are still buying authentic sculpts or kits. Never buy knock off kits as they are counterfeit and illegal sculpts or kits that have been stolen from the original artists. They have a huge negative impact on our sculptors and the industry as a whole. Never buy off of Amazon, Temu, Aliexpress. Only buy from authorized dealers or the sculptors directly;)
I may have misunderstood your meaning when you mentioned replica kit. You may be well aware of all this already but, wanted to make sure to take the opportunity to educate if you hadn’t been made aware:)
      Thanks again for watching! 😁
