A Ferrari is THEE LAST car maker I would spend $400K on. All you hear about is their BS "history". Yeah, their history that pissed of guys named Lamborghini, and Ford.....causing the Americans to build a car called the GT40, that whooped Ferraris' ass, and an Italian to make better cars as well. LOL
And listening here: "the engine is pretty much bulletproof". Well, I hope the internals of that complicated engine was thought out more then, the heat that leaves it. A regular F10? Like a 528i/530i? Definitely not even close. 535i/540i would be a somewhat close race,a lighter 335i/340i would fair better but a 550i would beat it to 60 especially if it’s an X drive 550i but it won’t beat the v10 in a top speed run. Those V10s top out at near 200mph.

But all it takes is getting in that car and being instantly reminded of how it makes you feel and what you had to do to get it. And then it’s a #pinchmemoment all over again.

I own a McLaren and it is very common from all exotic brands that they experience little issues like this. I have owned my car for 4 months now and its had 3 or 4 little thing or codes that needed quick dealer assistance. Never anything big enough that mechanically it couldn't drive as these cars are usually pretty mechanically sound, but the electronic systems and sometimes body issues like with his paint do occur. A lot of these are hand made/assembled and human error can and does occur on a manufacturing level. The front panels under my fender just recently broke while driving and its a known issue on the 570's. Literally a body panel broke off as they are only held by 2 8mm screws and 2 clips on each side but sustain MASSIVE force from the air which is why they break. On the 2018's (Mine is a 17) they have added additional brackets there to prevent it. Luckily, it doesn't stop me from driving but just takes a couple weeks to get it fixed. Most of my little issues are a quick trip to the dealer and are fixed within 1-2 days or even same day. Point being, these cars do truly have little issues for those who actually drive them like him and I (I have put over 6k miles on). Those who have garage queens, don't get to experience these little issues nearly as much....BUT, they are the ones who sometimes experience the MAJOR mechanical issues from sitting and not driving enough. Cars are mean't to be driven!

That Corvette appeared to be a 1991-93 Rest-O-Mod with the FIRST year model (1953) rear tail lamp conversion. The FRONT wasn't as visible but it seemed to duplicate the Mako Shark models of the early seventies. BTW-The front INTAKE vent perimeter paint doesn't bubble because it is a COLD air intake. It is the extreme heat exiting the two REAR vents that "boil" the paint on the under side causing that defect. Hope This Helps Yo !

Early Aston Martin DB9s had a similar issue - even though the body is a mix of aluminium and composite. This was due to the paint quite literally being too thin and letting water get underneath through microscopic pores. Unfortunately owners typically had problems getting the problem dealt with by AM. I did my own by hand with an airbrush! Although it was 11 years old when I got it!

Get the car regular check for electronic problems, because that was the main reason why I sold mine 2 years ago. I hope you don't have any electronic problem. Best wishes.

@@kamdaddypurp3341 LOL. Yeah, I used to think that too, but it def depends on the shoe. I have had a few pairs of LV shoes sent back for repairs when the stitching came undone on some drivers and I had the rubber on the sole of a pair of LV flip flops basically just rot. Worn maybe 10~20 times, in the closet for a couple of years, no sunlight exposure. Just total pieces of shit. Gucci tends to be better in my experience, but you get a whole lot more bang for your buck from a pair of Nikes or Adidas at 1/10th the cost and you don't have to fret about some dumbass stepping on your Nikes or Adidas either!!!!

They're getting ready to climb up in price and at least make your metal work for you value wise....

With a little bit of OCD. I could not deal with that. Would be a deal breaker before buying. Thats just what I think. 250k and you have rust bubbles (its not a collectible either which some cars with these issues can fall back on). Gr8 they're re painting, but surely it shouldn't happen on a modern super car.

Do you have an undercar wash attachment for your pressure washer?
I have one with 4 heads and casters. Gets a lot of dirt and debris off of there, especially salt. I also use a gutter hook for doing the wheel wells.
Chemical Guys makes a special auto soap to use on the undercarriage. Might be worth checking out.
Where I live, corrosion is a huge issue, especially in the winter and spring, mostly from the massive amount of salt used on our roads.

The issue is caused by aluminium contact with steel & resultant electrical induced corrosion - common problem with aluminium bodied cars. It's a well known problem on F12 and Ferrari fix it with re-paint, repair of corrosion and (and this bit is key) correct fitting of the steel grill. Not great - but properly installed this ought not occur again.

I am assuming that body panel is aluminum, right? It was the way it was prepped at the factory for the paint application. Or there may be a seam underneath that edge where they used seam sealer so the preparation was not done right for the paint to adhere to that surface. Mike, as a former Ford guy do you remember the problems they had with the Mustang hood panels on the S197 model and even on the early S550? The front edge of the hood underneath the lip would bubble out and their hoods were aluminum. I had it on my '07 and I was really pissed off to find that on my '15 by the time it was 2 years old that one was bubbling too. Ford knew about that, its on all the Mustang forums, for 10 model years they could not get it right at the factory. There was seam sealer on the seam of the outer hood and inner hood right along the front and they all bubbled. So the same thing on a quarter million dollar car - that ain't right.

I’m happy to know this happens to high-end cars as well. My expedition bubbled on the hood and lift gate. Aluminum corrodes and the paint bubbles and eventually peels. Has been happening since early 2000’s and ford hasn’t honored it. However they did honor it for our friends 2017.

I noticed you had a corrosion problem the VERY FIRST time I saw you fill the car up with gas when you first bought the Ferrari. Look inside your gas filler door at the corrosion you have inside near your fuel filler cap! I always wondered why you never cleaned inside this fuel door area when you washed the car and removed the standing water in this area. You are getting the rust probably from INSIDE the gas cap area. Maybe there is no drain in this area for water that is accumulating there?
