    Pssst; in case nobody noticed, Kevin doesn’t use his trusty ol’ fish knife - he uses MAGIC to transform pine into a character! 🤣

    Hey Kevin you do great work. I admire you for using pine to work with. I actually carved my first two things that came out good. I used pine, that's what is available around here. Thanks for your comments to stick with it. I thought I would never catch on. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.

    Hi Mr Coates
    This is fantastic
    It never ceases to amaze me how you get such detail and carve so precisely and delicately with such a thick and stout blade!
    Much respect
    Take care

    Hello Kevin,thanks for all ,I'm a beginner with some tools ,but I had a Chicago Brand filet knife I cut with Dremel and hit it with file like you did and Wala there was my chipper I wanted like Kevin the Carver ,thank you

    Most carvers including myself find it hard to get a wood that carves as easily as the type that you use. I have just met a chap who works at the local builders, he brings off cuts for my mates wood stove, says he'll will get me some, to carve not to burn, oh, on the other hand it may get burned. Cheers,Billy H. UK 🙄

    I really liked your work. Its really inspiring. In my country getting basswood is really tough. So i managed to get American pine wood. Tried carving my 1st ever sculpture. But honestly it was like i was carving stone. Few time it slipped too. Like i was try to carve long moustache which turned out to be half long and half shift. Which at the end took a shape of god know what ....hehe ...

      The lumber comes out of eastern Canada. Maybe Nova Scotia or New Brunswick somewhere from Irving company. It’s 1” x 12” x 8’. The number on it 98945 05404. That’s everything that’s on it

      Well Kevin,
      I searched for white pine on the HD site and found almost 1,400 hits. I tried to narrow my search to lumber and building materials but didn’t see anything that looked like a good choice for carving or like the pieces you start out with. Would you happen to have a squ number I could search for? Thank you very much!

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Laurie McConnell I looked at the few pieces I have left. Nothing there to see. If I remember correctly I think it may come from Quebec. I am heading out tomorrow for more pine. I will find out where they get it from. I’ll get back to you tomorrow
