Thank you for the tips and feedback! I find myself struggling with ADHD and just got diagnosed. Its the boredness for me LOL. Now i have some ideas on what i can do to combat that boredness.

The pandemic sure made earning a Master’s degree rough. My online program, Eastern Kentucky University, offered to help with finding preceptors. Great informative video. I really enjoy your channel! 👩🏻‍⚕️

Yes, the pandemic definitely did not help with NP grad school! lol it's really cool to hear that your program was more involved though, and helpful. It's good information to know, for sure! Also, I'm glad you enjoy my channel, thank you so much! I love getting on here and hearing from so many other awesome people around the world. So, thank you for reaching out!

Hi! I love your your videos! Thank you. I’m doing a hybrid FNP program. So far, so good. Are you still finding the pay not worth the investment in your masters degree?

The program I attended maintained a significant list of available preceptors, unfortunately after reaching out to nearly 40 of these sites, and being turned down due to Covid-19, I sought assistance of a preceptor-finder service. Although the latter method did find me a wonderful preceptor, the cost for the service was high. However, I do not regret it, because without them I would have added 6 additional months to my graduation date. It’s rough out there right now. Students from brick and mortar schools had their classes turned into zoom meetings for a majority of the last years and a half, and were also being turned away as they sought preceptorships. If you’re in an online program that allows easy and fast access to the professors, zoom meetings, etc. online is wonderful, but difficult, and is no place for procrastination.

Hello, I do feel the same way about finding a clinical site and preceptor. I and completing a post masters program for FNP through Herzing University, it is also online and the process is exactly the same.

Does Herzing university provide clinical placement?

    Great pros/ cons.
    I just started my journey.
In my opinion , I chose the FNP a route. However, my heart is with pediatrics.
If I can be a pedi NP then I’ll be living my dream.
I avoided the PNP a because FNP is just more marketable.
My pediatrician’s office told me the same go for FNP.
But, I have no interest in treating a 80 year olds CHF.
Like you said if it’s about the money just stay a nurse 👩‍⚕️. I get that it’s definitely surprising it’s really not that much money.
Being a provider in pediatrics is what I want though.
Again, some would say then why not a PNP but, I guess I’d be stuck should I ever want to make the extra money.
    Hope that makes sense .

It totally made sense! FNP is very marketable and will keep your options open, while still allowing you to pursue your dream in pediatrics! Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the video! I am in my 3rd semester in this program. Definitely agree that not all the professors are the same. Dr. Colella really inspired me but other than that...not so much!

Yes, I 100% agree! I did really enjoy listening to Dr. Colella as well! Good luck in your program. It will fly by!

Hey so University of Cincinnati didn't provide you with preceptors?

    • @BrittaniNP
      @BrittaniNP  ปีที่แล้ว

No, we had to find our own! A lot of programs unfortunately require you to find your own preceptors.

Cleveland State University just started their NP programs, and they provide preceptors.

Will your degree/diploma say you went to an online school? If so, do you think potential employers will look down upon that?

I really want to know this, too. Does anyone know the answer??? 😂

I can't remember the last time an employer ever asked for my degree/diploma. Let alone that employer criticizing whether the program I completed was online or in person.

You need to apply to a FQHC accredited health center with a high HPSA score so you can qualify for a loan repayment of your tuition. You can get $25,000 year up to 3 years. Health departments are usually the best bet and that is where I work now. I would like to sit in for my board exam this month.
