  • AJ turns his attention to creating the perfect multi-purpose two-up touring sled as he transforms our Ski-Doo Renegade X-RS into a family rocket by adding some quality Ski-Doo accessories such as the LinQ 1+1 Seat system, adjustable windshield and the adventure tunnel bag.

    Watching you drill holes into the tunnel is like hearing nails on a chalkboard

      yeah no there is aluminum shavings when hes drilling its not stickers. there is no holes already there. and i was also cringing sooo hard. not having the spots already there for the mounts seems pretty lazy

      @@Dreamscythe1 the holes are already drilled in the top of the tunnel. The only ones not pre drilled from ski-doo are the ones on the side of the tunnel for the seat backrest.

      Ski doo is including the Linq mounts on all 2022 sleds. So no need to buy them and install. I would think the 2 up seat ones come with the seat.

    I like this segment AJ, especially when you mentioned the “boss”. My boss doesn’t like to ride her own sled, to my dismay she enjoys ridding 2 up. Minus the bags and green you just showcased my setup.

    AJ, are you sure you put a low to medium adjustable windshield on that? To my eye it looks like the high to ultra high adjustable windshield.

    Awesome video! I'm really disappointed to see it requires holes in the tunnel... I was led to believe the skidoo seat didn't need holes because it uses a "linq" mount. It was not clear to me that's a different linq bracket, not the same one already present on the tunnel. This video saved me a lot of trouble! Thanks

    I’ve been seriously considering the Renegade Adrenaline and was doing some pricing. I died a little inside when I discovered how much that two up seat is with the back rest.... almost 1100 bucks.

    can you do a video on how to adjust the suspension for when you need to ride two up?

    • @jdcarguy1242
      @jdcarguy1242 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stock spring adjuster is just two blocks to adjust. If you are well nourished along with your riding mate, Id opt for the heavy load spring. Gear plus riders over 400lbs would be where it would be useful. Did this on my 16. Worked perfectly.

    Had the opportunity to ride both my 800 Pro S SB last week and a 2019 850 Renegade XRS. Put about 400 km on the XRS. The Doo is a nice machine, built well, great rear suspension. But the front end handling is no where near that of the Polaris. The 850 is a good motor, but found it took a bit to spool up, where my 800's throttle response was much quicker. Lastly the riding position and riding experience. The XRS seems like a super charged Bentley, where my Polaris feels more like a 911 GT3. For me its all about the ride, thats what makes me happy. Great sleds, both, i guess its all about whatever floats your boat. But i will say im dying to try a Indy XC 137 850.

      The 850 took awhile to spool up? Wow exact opposite when I went from a Summit 850 to Axys RMK 800.

      @uplandknight5782 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fnatomagan not a "while"....but the Liberty spools up faster...800's and 850's. I find Skidoo is a bit slower/less responsive when you crack the throttle.

      Most people don't set up the XRS correctly. Mine wasn't for the first season. Now it's awesome. Accelerated Technologies helped me out with the set up. I put Pilot 5.7's with Bergstrom Triple points and just a round wear bar on the outside runner and now it handle incredible.

      @@uplandknight5782 Not really just sold pilot ts skis it came with bought the 5.7's (which are much cheaper skis), everyone needs to buy carbides, and if your not sure how to properly set up the complete suspension you go to a professional to learn and then you can do yourself.

    To make this sort of conversion on a Ski-Doo 850 Summit X 175" would make for an amazing family ride. Chance to get stuck = 0.001%

    I have to say, as much as I love your show and agree with a lot of your advice. I whole heartily disagree with this segment. Why is the snowmobile community the only one that is cool with turning a crotch rocket into a rolling couch? You don’t see people buying a Honda CBR and turning it into a Honda Goldwing, You don’t see people trying to turn their Lamborghini into a Rolls Royce and you don’t see people trying to turn their Scarab into a Cabin Crusier. So why is it acceptable to turn an XRS into a Grand Touring?? This is the opposite of cool and the sled retains zero cool factor even if you can change it back. If you need to do this to your sled, you are not an XRS rider. Need to put two people on it once in a while?...buy a 1+1 seat...no back rest, no ridiculous windshield, no saddle bags (adventure bag is the only exception if you’re doing a long ride). I own a 2018 Renegade XRS and have two kids. I am in sales at a BRP dealer and I know BRP and the dealership want to sell accessories but, the accessories you choose for this segment ruin a perfectly good sled. There is a reason it comes with a seat for one person and no windshield!...no one would buy it if it came from the factory looking like what you turned it into. Just because you CAN does NOT mean you should!
