Heard Cult Of Luna for the first time a couple years ago, didn't really resonate with me. Some years later, I start listening to them again and this time I find it more interesting. Fast forward another year and I'm obsessed. This kind of music needs time to sink in, but when it does, it sinks deep. Every album of theirs is a journey, and this one is no exception.

They're a very over-looked band despite receiving high rating reviews and having, pardon the pun, a cult following. But, maybe that's the way they like things.

I am really enjoying the dynamics of this song. They are clearly moving forward, but are still very true to what makes them Cult of Luna. Even if this may not be "representative of Julie's involvement," her vocals are already adding a new layer that shakes up Cult of Luna's vocal element. It is awesome.

You have to listen to SWANS!!! Especially the Albums "The Seer" or "The Glowing Man". Their earlier era also contained much of female vocal parts from a singer called Jarboe ( i don't know her real name but I don't think Julie has the surname "Christmas"). They were and are sometimes very beautiful (Songs like Blind, The Most unfortunate Lie, It's Coming It's Real, Her, Song For a Warrior) and sometimes very hard and dark (Songs like Raping A Slave, Coward, Apostate, Children Of God, Cloud Of Unknowing)

Hope it is this year or at least the next that I finally see them live...
