Glad to see there are a few Guy Clark reactions out there. Guy and my dad went to school together for a few years, so I’ve been listening to Guy’s music for a long time. He is a brilliant story teller through his music. My all time favorite line of his is “I wish I had a dime, for every bad time, but the bad times always seem to keep the change”, from Anyhow I Love You. My dad recently passed away, so I’ve been listening to a lot of Guy lately, especially Randall Knife.
The establishment is the Texas Chile Parlor, they have a bar that serves Mad Dog Margaritas (made w/mezcal instead of tequila). Guy & a small group of friends were there a lot, even had business cards: " Maddog Inc. (Motto: Doing indefinable services to mankind."

Argueably the greatest songwriter ever.my personal favorite is Kris Kristofferson,but I could argue for Guy
He was a lyrical genius.
