This video shows the process for replacing a Jeep Cherokee instrument cluster / gauge cluster and correcting the mileage.
This process can also be used for upgrading from the idiot light cluster to the full gauges. This procedure applies to all 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokees (XJ).
This procedure should also apply to 1997-2001 Jeep TJ Wranglers.
    This WILL NOT work for
    1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ
    2002-2007 Jeep Liberty KJ
    2002-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ
This procedure may work for 2007+ Jeep Wrangler JK.

Just updated an idiot lite Jeep to full gauges, and kept the original miles. the hardest part was downloading software for the programmer. thanks for the inspiration.

Awesome info, I don’t need any of it, just trolling through! Great info 👍! There’s a lot of information you give that is very useful! Oh and by the way I could hear you very clearly, Im not sure why other comments say you can’t be heard! I had no problem listening! I don’t need the information but I’m curious, and you did very well explaining how it works!! Good job!!

Thank you so much for this, I've been trying to upgrade the dummy light cluster in my 99 cherokee for so long now but had no idea how to transfer the mileage

hands down best video I have found on youtube showing how to do without soldering... THANK YOU! 2 questions... 1-if you cant copy/clone and replace info, how can you actually TYPE in the correct miles onto the good cluster/ eprom…(plus it might be quicker that way, just having to get the clip attached to one eprom?). 2- I saw the stuff you were using and looked them up, the computer program however,, what is it? where do you get it? cost? thanks again for a very well thought out informative video!

Thank for the video. One question...Do you need power to the cluster?

So, what all exactly did you use for programming it, and where did you source it all? Is there a kit? I've found some parts online, like the SOIC-8 connector and the TL866 module, but what about the adaptor? And what program did you use, and where can I find it?

Hey, Nicely done. Tho I don't need this for mine. My issue is the dash lights for thee instrument panel are not working. Have to change the bulbs I suppose first. I could not find anyone doing this replacement for the "1995" Jeep Cherokee Sport SUV. Reminds me of my 91 Toyota 4 Runner where nobody shared how to replace the Rear Window Relay Switch-Box, which was located in the rear driver's-side 1/4 panel.

W the oil pressure and temp gauge not working , do you think the check gauge light would still come on if there was an issue?

Have the ezp2019+ programmer and I get all my data, but the mileage does not look like the same reading on the dash

I have a cluster from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it has a chip 2H5S1 and it also has a a number on it that says H246. I cannot find this chip in the XGecu and my IM508. I wonder what I am missing?

FYI the latest TL866A/CS firmware will "brick" your programmer if it is a copied clone of the "mini pro."
