- I must begin by apologising for the terrible audio for some of this video! My camera obviously got damaged by the heavy rain at the inaugural Yorkshire Dales Marathon. The audio fails sporadically so I didn't realise there was an issue until I edited the video! I decided to release it anyway as the team at Mansfield are so special and I would have felt sad not having the memory from this fantastic day.
We headed here to catch up with friends from Sheffield (I've run all of the parkruns around Sheffield!) and we had the most wonderful run, followed by an awesome adventure in Sherwood Forest visiting the Major Oak. I am so proud and happy for my gorgeous friends and their running achievements on the morning.
Mansfield parkrun is another venue where the course itself doesn't look particularly exciting on paper but there is something fun about running this parkrun. The way the space is split in two by the beck, and the way you wiggle through the wooded section is so nice. If you're after a blast around a lovely 5km course then this parkrun ticks all the boxes.
The real gem at this parkrun is the team. I just know I'll love a parkrun when I am laughing out loud during the First Timers Welcome and the Run Briefing! Lewis and his team were so very welcoming and I'd definitely recommend a visit to this parkrun.

I agree about the smaller parkruns....when I first ran Woodhouse Moor (May 2008) there were only 87 runners! Thanks for another great video Nicola.

doing my 2nd one at Sewerby this Saturday as a warm up for the 13.5 mile trail race on the sunday from Bridlington to Flamborough and you run back on the cliff top paths very tough course my 3rd time this year
i did Stamford park park run this weekend and yet again got a PB of 22 mins 31 knocking 14 seconds of my 1st time
These older courses of 2 or 3 laps round a local park that you'd have no other reason to visit definitely feel like the wholesome bread and butter of parkrun world. Hope your camera continues to dry out after it's bath around Masham!
That one reminds me a lot of Bromley parkrun which also has a beck in the middle. I found out yesterday that Bromley FC were promoted into the Football League last month & their stadium is next door to Norman Park in Bromley where the parkrun takes place. We are so lucky that parkruns are at 9am & don’t clash with football matches ! I can think of a few other places like Bournemouth, Fulham Palace & Aston Villa where this could have been an issue. I know Aston Hall has stopped now for another reason.
