I remember the day when I bought my first digivice toy in the store beside my school during grade 1, good times. And 20 years later, they are selling this new version of digivice: bracelet, it sure make you feel time flys.
Don't forget the 20th anniversary digimon vpets which are a celebration of their origional vpets with new features and digimon x, a upgrade and modern take with a full on questing mode and unlockable evos (+ infinite stasis!)
One thing to note is that the Digivice V is NOT waterproof yet, personally for a workout/outdoor device I'd definitely prefer waterproofing on it for some level of decent longevity. Now the Digivice-V is a second iteration of the Vital Bracelet with some decent improvements, however we can't be sure if there would be further improved versions of the Digivice-V as the series progresses as this 'second' iteration might just be due to them wanting to rename the vital bracelets to tie it in with the airing of Ghost Game whilst throwing in some quality of life improvement. Most Digivices gets multiple upgraded version as their corresponding series airs but it's been years since we got a proper digivice run so who knows, I do hope they have plans to introduce a mid-season upgrade Digivice-V and a end-season Digivice-V, accompanied by more QoL improvements and content (like proper varied battles and even story mode etc). But for all we know this might be the only physical digivice we'll get for ghost game.
I really want to have these (despite the dawning steep prices for collecting the dim cards) but honestly, that non water proof is the real set back for me. I'm not even the most active people, so even if sport function is sub-par at best. but i'm a smartband wearer and even if i don't uses the sport function that much, i mainly uses it as a watch. A clock an alarm, chat notification, etc. Hence, i rarely take it off throughout the day. And with my daily routine and work, i get used to have no worries when my band get wet or even soaked pr get rained on. So when i get these V-bracelet, i imagine i'll use it like my smart band -as a watch- despite the gaming/sport band aspect. I'll treat it like a watch which constantly on my hand and sometimes gets wet and i'll think nothing of it. If i were to buy and wear these, i'll most definitely wet these on accident, lol. I'm quite a careless person.

I agree, it definitely put a smile on my face even though I am a 3rd season loyalist and always preferred the concept of 'tamer' over that of digi-destined ;) The video is great, by the way! I think this is the best approach to enjoy this device: a touch of imagination and the treating it as motivation to exercise a bit more.
Just want to add on that the companion app is pretty essential for tamers as thats where you store the beloved digimon that you raised. More capsules can be earned through raid battles as the capsule that come with each DiM will not be enough
Having a lot of fun with mine, training my gammamon dim and impmon dim and starting agumon to jogress for better evolutions. The two weak spots for me are like you said the bland adventure missions and for me, they should give you more ability to "play" with your digimon, maybe a pokemon amie or pixel hangout screen for the app, place digimon in backgrounds you can unlock and they can interact with certain things in it.
Would be cool if they found items like they do on the Pokewalker the more you walk, higher steps in a day = rarer items. Maybe those items could be stat buffs and missions to make it more functional without the app and encourage reaching higher fitness goals.
The vital bracelets, including Digivice V are all actually watered down yet at the same time more advanced Digimon V-Pets, they got rid of a lot of the care features aside from injury and mood. They no longer poop. Not sure about the hero ones though but they seem to still have the evolution line functionality through form changes so I imagine the functionality is mostly the same.
I really like the Vital Bracelet but my biggest complaints are: No real interaction, you can't choose moves or feed your 'mons. Not waterproof! There's even a swimming evolution for pulsemon but you can't take it in the water or use it in the rain. I really think that's a huge oversight.
Yeah the waterproof is def. a oversight. That said on original v-pets you didn't choose moves neither. The feed/clean part maybe lacking for some people specially long time fans that had owned one or more V-pets over the years as I, but at the same time I feel that it was a good decision to leave them out. As and young adult now is hard to be looking at your v-pet all the time for those actions, and It is quite tedious for some people (so it can help bring a few more costumers). The nursing part it still present over on the app in some form! and the battles are def. bit more complex that in old v-pets thanks to the Chips addition a type addition (vaccine/data/virus/null) that if I remember correctly original v-pets didn't took onto considertion the digimon type. (Lore wise it has always existed tho)
Considering these can get updates, it's possible they're holding off on the enemies to avoid spoilers. In fact, the whole canon evolution lines for the ghost game tamers' digimon don't seem to be in the thing yet because humulos' evolution guide, datamined and dumped from the app doesn't have the full lines yet. Gammamon's canon line is the only one so far that goes to Ultimate (probably because it comes with the Digivice) while Angoramon and Jellymon only go to rookie with their canon champions and ultimates listed as "unknown" and _none_ of the megas are original to Ghost Game, which makes me think they might sell seprate DiM cards for those.
adventure mode is only to unlock a hidden evolution that you can't get by just exercising. also it is advised to do it when your digimon is as strong as can be as you are going to fight all the lines in order to unlock the digimons hidden evolution.
I knew I was supposed to walk with the Digivice, (Season 3, Tamers) but I had two problems. I didn't want to just walk in circles to trigger it and I was having trouble getting it unclipped and in front of my face in time. So instead me and my friend took turns using his pogostick to just bounce in place. One of us would bounce with it until it beeped, the other would do the actual fight. We got all the way to the final zone like that, it was tough. We ended up losing our blue card though and couldn't find a replacement (we were kids. We didn't know we could probably just use some kind of faux-card) and could only use normal attacks bu pushing the button as a result. We eneded up running out of stored item moves and soft locked ourselves, unable to progress. In all honesty though, it was a ton of fun, I loved it.
Ok. I am very interested in this- but I think I’ll wait until they add more to the formula. If they have an app to augment the experience, i hope they kinda do a Pokémon amie side app to actually tend your partner or something to really up the partner experience. Tempted greatly- but I feel like this can only improve. I think I’ll hold for now and see where this goes.
You're so lucky to have owned a season 3 digivice. I wanted one so bad when they were popular and never got one. I only had the season 4 digivice which wasn't even my favorite season, lol.
I had one and was so hyped BUT the battery was terrible on it, I couldn’t even complete the game because the battery would die first. To this day I don’t know if it was a common issue or just me

i never really liked pokemon go because though you exersise your still glued to a screen. bandi really hit the nail on the head it looks motivating and just as fun
Just received my Vital Bracelet preorder (the one that also includes the Ancient Warriors DiM card!) from Premium Bandai, along with the Agumon, Gabumon, Volcanic Beat, and Blizzard Fang DiM cards. Loving it so far (same for the phone app), though I only have one Rookie right now (Veemon), and he's sleeping because it's late, so no battles or other stuff just yet. Yeah, it's definitely a game first and exercise device second, but I think it's going to be exactly what I need - motivation to get up and be more active!
This is, really close to something I've been thinking about for afew days about a Digimon Pokemon go style game. I think it they made it purly for phones and the Fitbit was a optional add on the it could be awesome

Exactly! Exercise and Digimon fun. That’s awesome that your family has the OG Digivice. Where I grew up I didn’t know anybody with a season 1 Digivice we all got the season 2 ones though so I’ve always suspected they didn’t sell the season 1 Digivice in my neck of the woods!
I recently got the blue wolf howl featuring gabbumon and feel like it should help me embrace my fitness more (note not like a fit bit but more like a game kinda thing cause this is a toy/game that I like) so I can’t wait to start raising my little gabbumon

I just accidentally bought the original VB and the Digivice V so idk if there’s any perk to that but I’m stoked about all the Digivolution lines I’m about to experience!
I guess the perk would be that you’d have access to the Pulsemon dim. Since that Dim isn’t sold separately and only comes packaged with the original VB.
To be honest, reading the heart rate and counting your step is good enough even for a legit fitness watch. Specially if you workout regularly and know what you are doing. This is actually a really cool looking watch fitness watch like device, with digimon and gaming function. I mean this is actually pretty darn cool i would say.
Great video. I really liked the different approaches to review the device (fitness/game/digimon product), made a lot of sense because of the aspects of it (has companion app, fitness features, but it's all about digimon). Thanks for mentioning that about the battles in the bracelet being always against your same line-up, that's kind of a let down for me too. Perhaps I will wait for a next version... not sure... I'd also like waterproofing, not because I plan to exercise with it, but more as a security measure in case of accidents (I would not want my digivice ruined!)
Missed the times of pokewalker/tamers digivice toy time So it’s been a good couple of years and as per usual every January is a bit more fitness vibe So was actually considering buying one I’ll wait for a deal online or for new versions hopefully waterproof still, I’m missing pokewalker step counters so who knows I’ll consider it and maybe add more Digimon partner chips lol
When I was a kid, I had the season 1 Digivice (I think it was Sora's, I got it because it was Red); the D3 (Had one from each wave. One was Davis/Daisuke's, and the other was the one with the black translucent secondary colors); a D-Terminal; and D-Tector (Takuya's). As an adult I had the Data Link they released stateside and recently (Christmas 2020) got some of the 3rd Wave Digital Monster Ver. 20th (I got the black one for me, the glow in the dark one for my son, and the pink one for my daughter). I used to shake the hell out of them, all the way through the D-Tector. But it also had me exploring the land and staying active, running my ass off. Was not ready for the legit Digital Monster V-Pets, though, and neither were my kids. I managed to get a Devimon before he ended up dying. My kids had theirs for a week over at their moms and ended up losing them for a bit, so needless to say their Digimon also died. 🤣 Someone got me an Impulse City Vital Bracelet for Christmas (Bandai had them for a pretty decent price on Cyber Monday) and I have been waiting as patiently as possible for it. It's supposed to be here this month, but we all know how the mail situation has been for the last few months it seems like. Super excited, so glad they localized the VB Lab app. I've been keeping myself occupied by jumping into the arena when it is available--I think I was ranked somewhere in the 300-400 bracket of the Rookie Level Arena yesterday. This vid helped to answer some of the questions/concerns I had regarding the bracelet. Now am even more excited for it to actually get here.
When I was 11 my mom bought me Davis D2 digivice wish I took better care of it and didn't Iose it. I also use to shake it with my hand lol. I bought the black vital version one, but gonna sell it probably get the 3 version when ever it's made. Wish they would release a Exveemon or Veemon Dim card that's not bundle with lime green bracelet.

Been thinking about getting one of these which is the reason I found this video, but after knowing you can only battle yourself on the bracelet is kinda of bummer. With the Poke Walker that came with Heart Gold and Soul Silver you could catch and battle different types of Mons. Think I’ll be sticking with the Poke Walker till another updated version comes out or I find it at a really good price
I just started Ghost Game, hadn't watched a Digimon show since after frontiers, and ermagurd! I love Gammamon! Ordered one and now I'm also watching the reboot of Adventure now, and I'm pleasantly surprised so far.
Amazon has a preorder of this for $71 that will be out on Nov 15 according to the site. If you don't mind waiting you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for it.
buy it if you are a little bit interested. it is very unique and fun, but buy from a proxy website so you pay for retail prices. you might as well pick up some other stuff too and make the shipping worth it. like a dim case and extra dim cards or other import goodies that you pretty much can't get anywhere else for retail prices.

Well darn. Now I feel like I wish I got this before I got my original vitalbracelet. I need to learn how to use it and figure out how to be able to play this having a schedule where all my free time to walk is at night
You should add some clarification for using a dim multiple times. You described it as "resetting" the watch, when you just have to put your current digimon in storage (either in the watch or the app, both work), then just insert the dim card again.
I had a season 4, but kid me lusted over a season 3. I would buy one now, at full retail price, if they updated it and made it look a tad bit more premium.
I totally emphasize with the feeling of being an adult digidestined. Walking around with my Digimon on the VB makes me feel happy, like i have a little companion. And the best part, it is not so obvious to everyone. Only those that know, will know.
I used to grab it with two hands one on the top and one on the bottom of the digivice and then make the digivice flip really fast in the air to get a little extra boost in steps lol
Have you thought of making a follow up video on the vb? I always see one week o one month reviews but I'd love to see how much your opinion has changed over these past few months. Would you still recommend it, have you encountered any issues?

I remember I had the original digivice and the agumon toy that had the greymon form. My younger brother decided to wash my digivice in the bathtub I was not a happy camper.
Lmao it seems like EVERYBODY thought you were supposed to just shake it! I seem to remember it making a very satisfying sound when shook so that’s probably why
I'm glad I waited until they release a localized version of the app because it was one of my pet peeves getting into something. Also, Gammamon being such a baby in Ghost Game sold me the Digivice V which, at that time, I have no idea that it's an improved version of the OG VB. I thought it's just a design choice. Sadly I accidentally bought a separate Gammamon DiM card not knowing that the VB also comes with it. And yeah I can see a new and better version coming out as the show progresses (inb4 AppDrive DUO). From my experience, it is a toy, just disguised to look like a watch. The material is not that good either, and not being waterproof is a big letdown for what its concept is. The gameplay is interesting by integrating your physical activities into the Digimon's growth, but the battle (esp. on the VB) is basically rock paper scissors with RNG. Some may think that the enemies you face coming from your current evolution line is boring, but I'm ok with it because I don't want to memorize all Digimons' types.
I know this is old but I have one and I accidentally left it in my pocket when I did laundry (my old job didn't allow us to wear watches) it went through a whole wash and after two days of drying then maybe a week of waiting for the buttons to stop tweaking it works perfectly again 😂😂
Honestly as just a digimon fan, I’m gonna throw this in my cart. My birthday is before the preorder on this digivice ends, may as well spoil myself with something I’ll find fun. While still getting something somewhat practical
That sounds like a great plan! It's not the best fitness watch in the world but it's an awesome product for Digimon fans. I still enjoy putting on my VB before a morning walk and getting a few battle & trophies. It makes small things like a neighbourhood walk feel like tiny adventures!
Just a head up to anyone looking to pick one of these up in 2023 , Walmart has them in the clearance section , and I just picked up a red one with the graymon chip for 11.25 plus tax.
if only they make the material not looks like a "toy", i would buy these even if its more expensive than smartwatch i hope they develop this more so we can use it daily, why bandai not collaborating with those smartwatch industry ? and the most important.. it must waterproof
It doesn't look like a toy at all, You can have it a it will look just like a regular watch o: For the other things I doubt bandai will do that since first the product is only japanese, second is thought more like a toy than an actual fit device!

Just received my Vital Bracelet preorder (the one that also includes the Ancient Warriors DiM card!) from Premium Bandai, along with the Agumon, Gabumon, Volcanic Beat, and Blizzard Fang DiM cards. Loving it so far (same for the phone app), though I only have one Rookie right now (Veemon), and he's sleeping because it's late, so no battles or other stuff just yet. Yeah, it's definitely a game first and exercise device second, but I think it's going to be exactly what I need - motivation to get up and be more active!
This is, really close to something I've been thinking about for afew days about a Digimon Pokemon go style game. I think it they made it purly for phones and the Fitbit was a optional add on the it could be awesome

That said, now that I watched this review... I want to grab a Digivice VB special edition for both Pulsemon and Veemon, because why not? Exercise and have fun at the same time.
Exactly! Exercise and Digimon fun. That’s awesome that your family has the OG Digivice. Where I grew up I didn’t know anybody with a season 1 Digivice we all got the season 2 ones though so I’ve always suspected they didn’t sell the season 1 Digivice in my neck of the woods!
I recently got the blue wolf howl featuring gabbumon and feel like it should help me embrace my fitness more (note not like a fit bit but more like a game kinda thing cause this is a toy/game that I like) so I can’t wait to start raising my little gabbumon

I just accidentally bought the original VB and the Digivice V so idk if there’s any perk to that but I’m stoked about all the Digivolution lines I’m about to experience!
I guess the perk would be that you’d have access to the Pulsemon dim. Since that Dim isn’t sold separately and only comes packaged with the original VB.

Someone should make an app that emits an NFC wave with a specific digimon in its code when scanned so that way you can fight any digimon you want

To be honest, reading the heart rate and counting your step is good enough even for a legit fitness watch. Specially if you workout regularly and know what you are doing. This is actually a really cool looking watch fitness watch like device, with digimon and gaming function. I mean this is actually pretty darn cool i would say.

Great video. I really liked the different approaches to review the device (fitness/game/digimon product), made a lot of sense because of the aspects of it (has companion app, fitness features, but it's all about digimon).
Thanks for mentioning that about the battles in the bracelet being always against your same line-up, that's kind of a let down for me too.
Perhaps I will wait for a next version... not sure... I'd also like waterproofing, not because I plan to exercise with it, but more as a security measure in case of accidents (I would not want my digivice ruined!)

So it’s been a good couple of years and as per usual every January is a bit more fitness vibe
So was actually considering buying one I’ll wait for a deal online or for new versions hopefully waterproof still, I’m missing pokewalker step counters so who knows I’ll consider it and maybe add more Digimon partner chips lol
When I was a kid, I had the season 1 Digivice (I think it was Sora's, I got it because it was Red); the D3 (Had one from each wave. One was Davis/Daisuke's, and the other was the one with the black translucent secondary colors); a D-Terminal; and D-Tector (Takuya's). As an adult I had the Data Link they released stateside and recently (Christmas 2020) got some of the 3rd Wave Digital Monster Ver. 20th (I got the black one for me, the glow in the dark one for my son, and the pink one for my daughter).
I used to shake the hell out of them, all the way through the D-Tector. But it also had me exploring the land and staying active, running my ass off. Was not ready for the legit Digital Monster V-Pets, though, and neither were my kids. I managed to get a Devimon before he ended up dying. My kids had theirs for a week over at their moms and ended up losing them for a bit, so needless to say their Digimon also died. 🤣
Someone got me an Impulse City Vital Bracelet for Christmas (Bandai had them for a pretty decent price on Cyber Monday) and I have been waiting as patiently as possible for it. It's supposed to be here this month, but we all know how the mail situation has been for the last few months it seems like. Super excited, so glad they localized the VB Lab app. I've been keeping myself occupied by jumping into the arena when it is available--I think I was ranked somewhere in the 300-400 bracket of the Rookie Level Arena yesterday. This vid helped to answer some of the questions/concerns I had regarding the bracelet. Now am even more excited for it to actually get here.
When I was 11 my mom bought me Davis D2 digivice wish I took better care of it and didn't Iose it. I also use to shake it with my hand lol. I bought the black vital version one, but gonna sell it probably get the 3 version when ever it's made. Wish they would release a Exveemon or Veemon Dim card that's not bundle with lime green bracelet.

Been thinking about getting one of these which is the reason I found this video, but after knowing you can only battle yourself on the bracelet is kinda of bummer. With the Poke Walker that came with Heart Gold and Soul Silver you could catch and battle different types of Mons. Think I’ll be sticking with the Poke Walker till another updated version comes out or I find it at a really good price

I just started Ghost Game, hadn't watched a Digimon show since after frontiers, and ermagurd! I love Gammamon! Ordered one and now I'm also watching the reboot of Adventure now, and I'm pleasantly surprised so far.
Amazon has a preorder of this for $71 that will be out on Nov 15 according to the site. If you don't mind waiting you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

You should add some clarification for using a dim multiple times. You described it as "resetting" the watch, when you just have to put your current digimon in storage (either in the watch or the app, both work), then just insert the dim card again.
Man my first digivice was from digimon data squad I had the digivice Burst I enjoyed it back as I kid

I had a season 4, but kid me lusted over a season 3. I would buy one now, at full retail price, if they updated it and made it look a tad bit more premium.
I totally emphasize with the feeling of being an adult digidestined. Walking around with my Digimon on the VB makes me feel happy, like i have a little companion.
And the best part, it is not so obvious to everyone. Only those that know, will know.

I remember I had the original digivice and the agumon toy that had the greymon form. My younger brother decided to wash my digivice in the bathtub I was not a happy camper.

I'm glad I waited until they release a localized version of the app because it was one of my pet peeves getting into something.
Also, Gammamon being such a baby in Ghost Game sold me the Digivice V which, at that time, I have no idea that it's an improved version of the OG VB. I thought it's just a design choice. Sadly I accidentally bought a separate Gammamon DiM card not knowing that the VB also comes with it.
And yeah I can see a new and better version coming out as the show progresses (inb4 AppDrive DUO). From my experience, it is a toy, just disguised to look like a watch. The material is not that good either, and not being waterproof is a big letdown for what its concept is. The gameplay is interesting by integrating your physical activities into the Digimon's growth, but the battle (esp. on the VB) is basically rock paper scissors with RNG. Some may think that the enemies you face coming from your current evolution line is boring, but I'm ok with it because I don't want to memorize all Digimons' types.
I know this is old but I have one and I accidentally left it in my pocket when I did laundry (my old job didn't allow us to wear watches) it went through a whole wash and after two days of drying then maybe a week of waiting for the buttons to stop tweaking it works perfectly again 😂😂

That sounds like a great plan! It's not the best fitness watch in the world but it's an awesome product for Digimon fans. I still enjoy putting on my VB before a morning walk and getting a few battle & trophies. It makes small things like a neighbourhood walk feel like tiny adventures!
