Nice visual on one of my locals, quite crazy to see it going to diesels soon, I believe it is using 12/62 reg vehicles from either the 83/297/483 or 237/E2/E8.
Thank You Very Much! Very True, I feel like the WDEs will be coming soon for the 83 & the 297. They were meant to come in December 2023, but they have been delayed at Potters Bar Garage.
Releasing diesels for the 28 could happen in many different ways. The W7 can release its handful of VWs by either converting the 17 to LTs for its new contract so the W7 can temporarily take the BDEs. The 237 can go fully VWH as its meant to and then the E8 can just use its 10/60 reg VWs so the 12/62 regs on the 190/E8 can go to the 28 also. I dont think the 83/297 will bw able to convert any time soon as theres no progress with any work at PV and i do think the 113 will just convert with their WDEs in time for the contract and then the 83/297 can convert using the 113s actual intended batch of WDEs which would make sense rather than keeping them in storage.
@@zfs.59 I don’t think 10.9m vehicles are suitable for the W7 as the roads around the Finsbury Park stand are very narrow & having been on both the W3 & W7 on those roads even their current vehicles have found it difficult to make turns & navigate around other vehicles in the area. I could see W7 getting electroliners in the future. The 210 is also getting electroliners because I imagine for the same reasons mentioned as the W7. Yes the latter option could definitely happen though. The 483 is also meant to convert to a full Gemini 3/Evoseti Operation so that could release more diesels for the 28.
Nice Visual! This is your first visual where you go into the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Wandsworth, also what is your next visual?
The 28 was allocated 13 reg VHs but half were needed for the 295 including 2 13 reg VHs that came from TV. As a result, the 49 released a small amount of 71 reg BCEs from PVR cuts to the 28.
Tbf it was stated in the 28 result that the OME/BCE and generally electric buses were too expensive to run on the route. It was even stated that whilst the 28 went fully hybrid with the 13 reg VHs, it was also expensive to run so hence why the 28 and even now the E1 are both going to Metroline on 3 year diesel contracts. The 28 will definitely go back to B9TL operation using VWs and the E1 could likely use VWs or TEs but currently there are no young TEs available as the W8 isnt converting anytime soon so yeh
Having 28 at Metroline seems kinda a downgrade cos it will use diesel buses instead of electrics, although I love the diesels it’s disappointing cos it’s currently using electrics. I love Metroline (they’re my fav operator too) but making 28 going from electrics to diesels is sad)

Looks like 28 is going to Metroline Right?
It passed to Metroline 5 months ago...
It just goes to show Optare built quality is bad when they bring in Diesels to take over Electrics
Yes!!!
