I would buy this if they sold the full power model in New Zealand. I have a full licence, I don’t want a LAMS motorcycle, HONDA! GIVE US THE CB650R FULL POWER MODEL IN NEW ZEALAND/AUSTRALIA!! While you’re at it, give it a ride by wire throttle and up/down quick shifter and I will buy one instantly. The old bike actually looked better in my opinion. These new half black, half silver air scoops look half baked. The old bike was so clean and purposeful. Also the new rear end looks like it came off a sports bike not a cafe racer. It’s out of place. If you kept the design the same as the old one, gave it ride by wire throttle with up/down quick shifter fitted standard and sold the full power version (instead of LAMS) in New Zealand/Australia then these would fly off shelves. I personally would buy one in a heartbeat. I have been in love with this bike since it came out in 2018 but Honda has only ever sold the LAMS (learner version with ~50hp) in the New Zealand & Australia market and it is illegal to derestrict LAMS motorcycles so this bike is destined to live its days as a Neutered beast. Some people illegally derestrict them but it means your insurance is void etc so I will never buy one of these motorbikes until Honda NZ give us the full unrestricted version. Yamaha sell both the LAMS and unrestricted version of the MT07 in New Zealand and so do Suzuki with the SV650 so there’s no reason that Honda can’t do it with the CB650R and CBR650R. They are giving away sales because they’re too lazy to give AUS/NZ buyers the option of buying an unrestricted bike. It’s a crying shame and I guess I will never get to own one of these until Honda wakes up.
A few months ago Triumph really good ads for their new 400cc singles. That set a standard. Get your advertising team to check them out. Sorry, this ad didn’t make me want to buy the product at all, and the CB650R is one of my favorite bikes.

Now they are putting all those electronic gizmos on it and that E Gear Box, I shall be looking for a late second hand one.

This looks fantastic. The updated dash and the back end needed just that kind of update. Those air ducts on the sides are the only thing spoiling the looks.
I own this same CB650R but from 2019 and the commercial is on point...is an evolution from mine...more "minimalist" so correct advertising. This one is a hard to beat or improve since the original from 2019 since it is way to good til today, it was ahead of its time 😊 In terms of specs I hope it has cruise control and engine breaking, if that is the case I would consider renewing from my beloved one.
obviously they've put the electronics this time, the tft screen seems to be the same from cb750, so that includes riding modes, electronic throttle and everything it comes with... great improvement.
Old one looked better still credit goes to Honda for keeping the inline 4 alive!

I prefer the old style. The technology is interesting but I don't like the screen with such large bezels, it makes it feel like an old screen

They should ditch the gold already. Gold forks and bronze engine accents are ugly. All black or silver looks way better.
