I just turned 54 last week, and I listen to AAS all the time. I have a couple of their songs tattooed on my arm, including this one lol. And I have the words Abandon All Ships tattooed on my arm as well. Their music has gotten me thru some rough times💜.

I've been following these guys since their myspace days when they were still playing small local venues. It's crazy to see them grow so much throughout the past few years. I'm happy for them that they finally got their break. Megawacko is the very first song I heard from them when it was still a rough copy and it is crazy to compare the original to 2.1.

Man used to love listening to these guys back in like 2010 and 2011 even used their Maria cover in an old montage.
Everyone has always spoken negatively about the way Martin Broda used autotune, but it was really avant-garde, he used autotune in 2010 in the same way that many artists use it today in many alternative and undergrown music scenes

Abandon All Ships was an electronicore band from Toronto, Ontario. Formed in 2006, the group was signed domestically to Universal Music Canada via Underground Operations, along with an American deal to Rise Records. The band had released a self-titled EP independently in 2009 and two full-length studio albums, Geeving in 2010 through Universal and Rise, and also Infamous in 2012. The band released their third and final album "Malocchio", on February 11, 2014. Neon1Ice still not that far though, they are metalcore as most screamo bands are
Sam Nolan if I'm correct, screamo doesn't include any clean vocals so that already rules out the possibility of AAS being classified as screamo. in screamo they don't use any electronic instruments or effects either and AAS's sound is basically built around them. so yeah, AAS is preeeetty far from anything screamo-like.
Sam Nolan what annoys me in general though, is that those with very little knowledge of hardcore music, when they hear some they typically assume post-hardcore/metalcore bands are screamo, even though they are two completely different musical styles. once they hear there's scream parts in the song, they falsely come to the conclusion that the music is screamo but that's fairly often not the case.

I love this song the music video folows the music perfecly, and this band is amazing i dont know way there getting to much hate in the comments. Every artist is difend specialy in Rock, you dont had to fit in just one categoly of music o two to sound good. that what i like the most about rock even in the same gene you find divesity. like T-rex is not David bowie or roxie music but is still glam. So why can he scream in hes style or use autotune is they think it will enhance de music feel. is not about being fake is about playing with sound they write and perform there music.

if im not mistaken, the girl at 2:16 is also in a static lullabys video for their toxic cover. And for everyone hating on their style....i come from the same city as AAS (woodbridge) and its like 85% italian, genos everywhere listening to dance music in their lowered honda civics, so thats where the inspiration for the dance music comes from. If you come from Woodbridge, dance music is like literally in your blood

they are actually electronicore and not all electronicore bands use autotune. however yeah many do. i just think there were more interesting ways to make use of it.

Few things for all the haters, the clean vocals are not autotuned, they just have massive reverb effects like pop vocalist, this isn't some post hardcore-metal band, but rather a group that combine techno and hardcore with screamo added to it. Stop judging bands by genre titles and start judging them for what they are doing. This group is its own genre.
at the concert I went to i saw Martin talking to the most beautiful girl i'v ever seen :o I think they where dating. what a lucky girl :c

I like them for some reason. Not sure why, but the Trance with the Metal is good imo. Not an amazing band considering any kid with a MIDI keyboard, a DAW, and his friends who drum, guitar, bass, sing, scream, etc can make this genre, but still, catchy. I'll agree, better bands exist, but, I can like Led Zeplin and Abandon All Ships and Tool at the same time right?

This band is great but the screamer not so much lol
Jesus, listening to this makes me legit kinda mad, lol. Their song "Geeving" is the song that got me into metalcore, but that clean vocal singer is fucking abysmal. I don't mind the electronic sound, its something different from the traditional metalcore formula, but that auto-tune clean singer just ruins it. Makes me sad at the wasted potential that could have been.
the cleans are the best part.. it sets them aside from the rest.. his unautotuned stuff sounds alot better though. Sadly this band is no more. Seen though that Martin (cleans) is making a new band in the coming days/weeks/months? so that should be good.
Just shows that don't know shit about this band. He's not abysmal, they used autotune for this album not because Martin can't sing but rather to give it an unique sound. Just check out some of their later work and if you still think the clean vocal singer sucks the fault is clearly on your own hearing.

Why are you comparing AAS to ECB? Fine, they both are/were electronicore groups but AAS's lyrics are like the complete opposite of ECB's lyrics. So I don't think you can really say "Eskimo callboy does it better" cause we're talking about two bands that sound absolutely different lyrically.
And btw I tried to like Eskimo Callboy, twice actually but I simply couldn't find anything likeable about them. Too bad :/
