    Have gotten the privilege to climb on both set types and can confirm: it’s the best. I like the spray better, especially if you have a smaller wall, but both are insanely well thought out and amazing.

    Ok so I’ve watched tons of your videos on your channel the last 2 days and I have to say that not only does the TB2 look frikkin’ awesome but you guys have such a fantastic energy. I’ll admit I’m not the biggest outdoor bouldering fan so haven’t watched all those yet but the board sessions are so cool, please keep doing more!

    145 unique shapes and not a single pocket 😢on a more serious note, what is the longevity of the wooden holds like when used as feet? Can the rubber be easily cleaned off somehow?

    • @VDB420
      @VDB420 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Longevity is fine, they'll just look a bit more dirty. A light sand every couple years might be good but not necessary. I'd be more concerned with PU holds losing their texture in the long run!

    As a Frankenjura climber I am missing pockets on nearly all boards.
    To train specific pocket finger strength while climbing one could decide to use less fingers on any hold, but it is not the same feeling regarding coordination. For example hitting a two finger pocket in the deadpoint requires a lot of tension and coordination.
    Why did you decide not to use pockets on the board?

    • @tensionclimbing
      @tensionclimbing  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      The board does have a few pocket-esque holds and 3 finger holds, but generally, pockets aren’t something that most climbers encounter very frequently, so we didn’t want to lean too heavily on them. To train for somewhere like frankenjura, you’d probably want more pockets, which is fair. This may not be the best board to address your specific needs for that area.

    Love these videos and the production value as well as what you guys are doing for the community. One thing that I'm not seeing in this video is a comparison or at least a note on the price. TB2 holds+leds are 4-6x more expensive than the current moonboard set + moonboard LED controller v2. For a commercial setting this is likely a great board/investment for its members but for home wallers this is pretty cost prohibitive as compared to at least the moonboard.

    Do you still recommend kickboards be installed? I'm assuming we aren't smearing on them - so they are just a space filler?
    What's your thought on just installing the board straight at floor height and eliminating a kickboard?

    • @kris9074
      @kris9074 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’ll lose a lot of problems at steeper angles. Your feet need room to manipulate the lowest holds so at least a 12 inch kicker is needed depending on your foot size.

    Huge props for not including a mandatory kicker on the TB2! One of the biggest reasons I'm considering an 8x12 in the garage vs a MB due to height constraints. Also a universal kicker like the MB tends to really reward tall climbing (or just tall climbers) who can utilize optimal low foot positions for further up the problem vs needing to confront positions demanded by the original intended set.

    • @tensionclimbing
      @tensionclimbing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      🙏 exactly. Let us know if you have any questions.

    • @frfr335
      @frfr335 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're thinking of eliminating the kicker entirely, the only problem i can see is that your ass will be higher relative to the starting holds (both hands and feet). The 'ground zero' datum is where the board starts to angle and the underside of your mat will be on that level, not at the level of the foot of the kicker. So the problems you do, at least the start moves of them, won't be exactly the same as other boards that do have the kicker.
      Personally, I'd like to have seen holds on the kicker, without them it's essentially wasted space. (ie. height)

    Hi, great video. I'm very keen on getting the 8 x10 tb2. I have been looking at the app and set filters to the cropped 8 x10 wall , I can only see around 200 climbs. I have also searched under "tension climbing" and "tension training centre". There are heaps of climbs but I can't filter out climbs for the cropped wall. Is there anything else I can try to find more tb2 8 x10 specific climbs? Thnx

    • @tensionclimbing
      @tensionclimbing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! We're psyched you're interested in the 10x8. You are correct that there are currently less boulders in the database for that board size. However, we at Tension are working to regularly put in more and more quality boulders in the database specific to that board size. In fact, the number has likely already grown since you last checked. In addition to that, we are sending out more 10x8 boards than ever, so more users are gaining access to that particular board size meaning those users will likely add many of their own boulders to the database as well. We hope this helps, and if you have any further questions about the board, please feel free to email us at info@tensionclimbing.com.

    Looks amazing. Are the tension account boulders your version of a benchmark system? Or are you planning to highlight certain routes in any other way?

    • @tensionclimbing
      @tensionclimbing  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not necessarily. The Tension account boulders are just a good place to go for quality boulders set by us. We're currently in the process of designating Classics, which are our version of benchmarks. The classics will span different setters and are designated with a "C" within the app.

    Have you fixed the app yet? I stopped using the Tension board when you introduced the disastrous new app a few years ago. If I'm in a gym with multiple board options, frankly the functionality of the app is going to be what dictates which board I use.

    Is it convenient to climb without a place under the kickboard if it does not fit at home. What do you think?

      Not sure what you're asking. Can you clarify?

    • @Fokin_Alexey
      @Fokin_Alexey ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tensionclimbing I would like to clarify - the need of the kickboard - the plank between the flooring and the climbing wall. In your website there is no kickboard but on the advertising videos - there is. What is the difference (for what does it affect)? Or what you suggest for home climbing wall - to install the kick board or not.

  • @michaelmay9800
    @michaelmay9800 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    While I do think this is the best board on the market, I personally hate wooden holds because they are moisture dependent and if you have dry skin are prone to dry fire. People like to act like that’s better for some reason? They say things like you have to “engage more” but the reality is that is makes for massive differences in difficulty based on how moist your skin is that day. Wooden hang boards makes more sense because your not pulling through and have less likelihood of dry firing.

    • @tensionclimbing
      @tensionclimbing  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's cool, some folks don't like wood. We think you'd have a great time on the plastic though. In fact, there's a way to setup the board within the app to filter for plastic holds only, and there's already a massive amount of boulders set that don't utilize the wood grips at all.
      You'd still get enjoyment and purposeful training from it, we promise 👊
