It'll have to be online as I live in the east northeast of Thailand so sourcing things can be somewhat of a challenge but it did occur to me to plug the grinder into the Dremel 9100 foot controller to see if that would work but couldn't plug it in as we have 2 types of plugs here pin/hole or blade/slots and of course the controller has round holes and the grinder has blade type pins so another solution is imminent.Cheers.
darcy kelly , the dremel pedal will work but it causing posture problems. It's really important to have good footing while using these grinders. The foot pedals are really only useful when seated on a chair. It's also possible to make your own speed controller using a ceiling fan reostat.
I'm hearing ya on the posture problems.Thanks for these helpful tips I'll check out the the fan reostat suggestion sounds like an option and thanks for the safety tip they don't call them ankle grinders for nothing.

They used to sell the attachment as a kit to adapt to a grinder of your choice. That was over ten years ago. I suppose there were too many phone calls for trouble adapting. Now they just sell the whole unit, which has a different attachment (bolt flange rather than collar clamp). Call the U.S. branch and ask if they have an old kit on the shelf. I've now got their new model. It's worth the money.
The shapes of my sculptures are intended to communicate a feeling. Many of them are contemporary interpretations of the inherent beauty designed into the natural world. This particular piece was partially inspired by the flowing movements of a woman's dress during a Merengue dance. I love the way a flag blows in the wind or smoke rises. Capturing that feeling was a goal here, without imitating.
It's a Proxxon Long Neck Angle Grinder. King Arthur's Tools also makes an improved model called the Merlin. I make my discs from all sorts of things, like old credit cards and pieces of plastic that have the sort of flexure I'm looking for, and mount then with a 4mm screw. I then glue foam to the disc and use spray adhesive to continually apply sandpaper to the foam.
@@keithbeardsley1741 they burn out when people try doing work the Arbortech Mini Grinder should be doing. I sand and saw with the Proxxons but the heavy grinding/power sculpting should never be done with those little grinders. They shouldn't even sell them with that 2" chainsaw wheel.
Sorry for the delay. Yes, I use a 1/4" die grinder for the Kutzall burrs. But I NEVER run it at full speed. I use a router speed controller to slow it down, which can be bought at a hardware store for about $15.

I might be wrong, but I think its very bad to use a larger blade on your angle grinder, because it will cause the blade to spin way faster. Avoid using it as much as you can
I use electronic speed controllers on all my grinders. These tools were made for metal grinding and are best for wood when rpm's are reduced. BTW, the blade isn't spinning faster being larger, the surface speed is increased.

Cocobolo is the hardest wood I've ever worked with. Bloodwood is next in line.

I worked with cocobolo for the first time and it irritated my skin through work gloves.
Yeah, nasty stuff. It put a friend of mine in the hospital for 3 days. It's basically an allergic reaction, which can be different for anyone.
