I thumbed it down too - only because of the MUSIC. We want to hear the grit of tires skidding on ice, and the crunch of plastic trim or sheet metal in a video about LOSING CONTROL ON ICE!
Your comment reminds me of the Flood of May, 2010 in Middle Tennessee -- couple were going to church somewhere in the Nashville area -- drove past posts stating 'HIGH WATER' and drove into flood waters - both drown.
Once a snowstorm fell overnight in the mountains of California, for 2018, but the next morning it had thawed and I was unlucky enough to go down a road like that.My car slid and turned, the strange thing and the good thing is that no scratch happened to me, but you would have seen the car as it was, hahaha hahaha hahaha
got like that in virginia beach once afew years back...crazy amounts of accidents all over the place. Overturned vehicles, a Mac truck killed somebody, ...and all just from an overnight freeze forming black ice on all the roads. How I got my girl to work safely i can only thank God for.
On a bloodelivery I drove into a very similar situation. I merely moved to the right with wheels just off the edge of the shoulder. The dirt and vegetation provided enough traction until I was blocked by a vehicle near the top. Got dirt and threw it on the street against and in front of the right wheel and continued on. Wish that I could have helped others out, but the hospital needed the blood STAT.
I stay home. I watch the weather and right now we are in an ice storm, the roads are awful and I stay home. BUT the ones running through my hedge out front about 100 ft from my house (9 as of today) won't listen. They can walk home because no tow trucks are coming out.
Literally every time there are icy roads and we have a day off of school we run to the top of our hill and watch cars attempt to climb our steep hill when it's icy. We like start cheering them on and clapping but most of them don't make it up!
You would think since they were going to Church God would have melted the ice for them. But I guess this was just another one of those test he likes to make people do.
I live in Sacramento CA where there is no snow, but there is tons of it between here and Reno on I80 in the Sierra mountains. Most of the vehicles in the ditch in the Sierra are over confident 4x4s. One time my sister pulled out a Toyota 4x4 with her two wheel drive Dodge power wagon pick-up. Was that guy embarrassed. What he didn't know was that my sister was a heavy equipment operator for the local power district. She knew how to drive!
gamejolt.com/games/sonic-exe-the-game/download-distribution/14862/?os=windows Dude!!! i got the sonic.exe game for you. like i would forget. haha enjoy!!! oh btw as soon as you open the page it will download ;)
I'm sure the big guy up there doesn't care if you miss a day of church. If the weather is bad, stay home and stay safe. All I see is idiot drivers here who shouldnt have a license
This happen to me last winter up in Northern Ontario, glad i have the Z71 GMC Sierra 4x4 :) took off onto the shoulder and up on a field to get around the cars :)
@jcaing that would depend on the vehicle's differential and/or advanced traction control system. Most vehicles wouldnt be able to make it up an incline with one side having zero traction while the other side has minimal traction.. If you had a newer car with active differentials (or a good limited slip) and a highly advanced traction control (awd would help a lot also) you could possibly make it.
I thought I was going to see dangerous icey roads. This barely is an inconvenience. 4.1M views? This is proof that youtube sucks and we're all going to slide into a world of idiocracy. Dear TH-cam. Stop suggesting crap because some bot bumped the count so it gets suggested more and we spin into a self-feeding pile of crap.
Hahahhaa, if I had been driving up to that hill and saw all those four-way flashers, I would've been like "eff this" and gone off to a nice warm bar. =)
@ Larry Estes, Sounds like "Uncle Jessie" Music from the Dukes of Hazard driving His Pickup truck into Town. Goes good with the For Buh For Pickup in the Clip.
I remember this well. The only thing that should have been out that day was the Hershey Bears hockey team. Me, I have 4 wheel drive could get around on short trips but I was worried about someone hitting me. Tough driving when you constantly have to form an escape plan in case one of the idiots is heading my way.
The air temperature should be above or near freezing so that the water doesn't freeze completely on its way down, but the temperature of the ground and other surfaces needs to be just below freezing to cause the water to freeze on contact, but not too cold, as the thin layer of water on top of the ice causes additional slipperiness.
You mean private bone spurs,he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag. the traitor ,idiot, moron..shame on you or anyone that likes the crazy moron...shame.shame.shame.
I remember putting on the studded snow tires in November and taking them off in April. Now we can't use them...bummer! There has to be an alternative route these folks can take. Common sense would keep me from trying to go up that hill.
People are ridiculous and not the ones in the video either. I'm sure they're all very nice folks. On the other hand you people talking about the bad driving are stupid. Like bad drivers are only limited to America. Go check out other videos of other countries driving skills. Also if you need winter tires to drive in winter weather you shouldn't be driving in winter weather. All I need is my 4x4 truck and I can drive anywhere in winter weather. Well maybe they're mandatory where you live but here we don't use them and we do just fine. We give ourselves extra time to get where we're going and that's how we handle our winter weather.
I hit black ice across a bridge once. My wheel was cocked just a little and I slid right across and straightened out on the other side and continued on with out slowing down. Out of control for a few seconds no harm done.
5 feet of snow and -35c temperatures in Canada, day goes on like it was normal. Not even an inch of snow and just under 0c in America, and all hell breaks loose.

There is nothing slicker than wet ice. WHOOOEY I put tire chains on my front of my front drive car and could go pretty good in wet ice but the back end kept sliding down hill no matter what. If the road sloped left the back would slide left till I was dogtracking. A couple times I was completely sideways going straight down the road LOL. Stopping was a whole different experience. The back would swing around till I was going backwards, but I would get stopped. Then I had to maneuver to get straightened out again. I needed them on all fours. They are cables with lock washers on them.
This is funny. Then again I'm from Northeast this was the usual. Actually, sometimes it was a good idea to take a shovel with you because you never when you had to dig up your car.
@MrCriticOfAll gooday mate. It really isn't all that bad. you have to understand that alot of people here in the Northern U.S. don't bother to buy winter tires. they think all seasons will cut it. winter tires are no made the same as all seasons tires. the rubber compound on winter tires is made to stay flexible at lower temperatures. Studs on the tires are for days like this. If I was there i would have climbed the hill and got out of my van and looked down and Laughed at them all...

It never ceases to amaze me. You pull onto a road and you see quite a few cars just pulled over randomly and yet you still continue! 🤦♀️
LOL Love how the good ol' Ford driver was smart enough to back into the grass to gain traction.
Timestamp 1:22.
1978 on the freeway in the UK , without warning suddenly silence in the car, a major crash followed , may those who didn't survive rest in peace.
I thumbed it down too - only because of the MUSIC. We want to hear the grit of tires skidding on ice, and the crunch of plastic trim or sheet metal in a video about LOSING CONTROL ON ICE!
You know that there is no sound of the tires on ice. ice is not asphalt. And yes i replied to a 2 year old comment
Agreed
"I see a shit ton of cars off the road, I think I should go down it!"
Guy in the pickups like i got this. The ice is like nope.
"Leave your car at home, Bill, don't take your car to town...."
Be aware of the weather and just stay home when things like this happen.
I don't care how important my job is I'll never drive in an ice storm
Nor a hurricane - I was sent into Ivan in Alabama - I left that job not long after that.
Got to love how they keep on a coming
Two words: STAY HOME
Your comment reminds me of the Flood of May, 2010 in Middle Tennessee -- couple were going to church somewhere in the Nashville area -- drove past posts stating 'HIGH WATER' and drove into flood waters - both drown.
I was thinking the same and finally, the last truck did it and made it to the next intersection. Fun to watch people sliding around like that.
I've been on ice like that plenty of times, and it isn't fun. Thank God I haven't wrecked, yet...I think everybody did a great job :)

Waving goodbye to this video almost immediately due to the lame music. AMF.
Drive on the shoulder if you can. It helped me in Ithaca NY while coming down an icy hill in a 2wd S-10.
Black Ice Matters!
That's a good one.
Awful.
I don't listen to country music very often, but I liked the background music!
LOL Days like that I just keep my ass at home

Hi where do I find this song?

@@abjol FYI if you will click on the Show More under Mister Twister55 name on the left, it will give you the info on the video.
Why not?
Who clicked on this because of the ice storm in the Mid-West?
I just came here for the music..
i came here to watch the slipy slid
please i need a name of the song....awesome
inkey2 funny :D
Yep...
satan didnt want them to get to church on time
reminds me of the Seals & Croft song from the 70s.
Summer Tires....make me spin good....
rollin through the ice on BAD TIIIIIIIIIRES!
Really most churches would let you skip for a bad ice storm.
Nope, instant ticket to hell for eternal torture

I love that old 3/4 ton ford pickup
860k on my 88 F250, just keeps on going.
Use the grass? I would.
A bit of information folks. All cars and trucks slide in ice regardless of having 4 wheel drive or not. Stay put until the roads are treated.
I'd love to meet a programmer who could program a computer driven car to handle this type of situation.
Probably the all electric cars will
I like the fact that the sign to the right says "Do Not Pass" kind of funny :D
all the subarus stuck at the bottom lmao
+T AN AWD means nothing if you have absolutely no traction. I see Jeeps stuck in snow and ice all the time with all four wheels spinning!
largol33t1 same with subarus
largol33t1 I know, just being from Colorado people think they are the best car ever. And jeeps are the worst Of course they can't handle snow.
T AN lol
The hell. As soon as this music started I began to look at my sister in a WHOLE new way.
Now that's funny right there!!
drive along edge of road where one side has traction?
It is good idea for not sliding around but if ur car has no differential locker then it won't work for pushing upward.

In Canada they're always prepared, salt on the streets, special tires when fall season begins, etc... I lived in Canada for 8 years.
I love the music! wicked!
Same here in Finland. Hooray Scandinavia! :)
music is f.....n awesome !!!!
Weatherman: roads will be icy stay home.
People: pish I can drive on ice
Well looks like were going to the mormon church then. screw it lets get mcdonalds.
what do you do if you're out on the road during this?? do you have to wait until it thaws or what? i've never lived somewhere where this happens
go slow or stay home black ice sucks
There is an extremely apparent lack of insanity contained within this video. Lame

that song ... that pickup :D

@Pablo Baeza Contreras the 2009 model has ice and snow on gravel not on tarmac
