It is an alpharad joke, in another Nuzlock he had an Onix he named Mewtwo for luck, and lost it before the fight he needed it for, so he named this Mewtwo Onix
Alpharad has his own dedicated mod team and pays them to create mods for him. So even though they're playing Emerald, they do in fact have things like phys/special split because his modders are insane like that
Bahaha! He doesn’t understand why the Onix is named Mewtwo. You got some reactions to get to for full understanding. Alternatively, you could check Pchal’s analysis of that particular nuzlock. I loved this video though. Introduced me to Vulpixie.
Your comment about gen 3 Tri Attack is too real. Emerald was my first game and I remember feeling anxious when I got hit with that move for the first time and saw its brutal animation like "The heck is it using AAH!"
23:20 having fun is never detrimental. You have fun by treating pokemon like a strategic battle. Other people have fun by making the yellow rat go *CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!*
Both are perfectly acceptable play styles. If someone wants to use Togekiss to try and flinch spam and stall, awesome. If someone just likes a cute giant flying egg, awesome. More people should understand that both play styles, and any in the infinity of gray in-between them, is perfectly fine.
"There's no way this Magneton doesn't have Levitate" Gamefreak, When Designing a Pokemon With a 4x Weakness to Ground: oh yeah, that would've been a good thing to give it wouldn't it?
FWIW There's a fanmade game called Pokemon Uranium that is not only a really good game on its own, but it has specific Nuzlocke settings for if you want to do that. Just FYI. It's free to download, and no worries about it being stealing, they aren't using any of the original game code.
Karen: Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. Me: My favorites are Inciniroar and Landorus Therion. Unless Mega Rayquaza is legal, in which case it's absolutly Mega Rayquaza.
In the words of a famous Nuzlocker: "Grinding is cringe, and Cheating is Based." A LOT of Nuzlockers nowadays cheat in Rare Candies and use those alongside Level Caps (Usually the next Gym Leader's Highest leveled Pokemon, and if you go over you can't use that pokemon until after the Gym Leader.). This just makes things go faster, and the focus of the game can be on the interesting team building instead of hundreds of hours of grinding.
that shiny caterpie story hurts me. when i was in 6th grade, a friend of mine got pokemon black as his first game. bro got a shiny roggenrola in 2 hours. i had been playing since i was 4, and had never seen a shiny before. i was so pissed. IT HAD AN EVERSTONE TOO. so it was even rarer than just a shiny.
To sum it up, Alpharad has a team of Developers who mod Gen 3 games for all kinds of fuckery, look at his "Too many types" video that has a modded version with an obnoxious amount of new types, moves and a few other surprises in the game.
I think I could do it. The first pokemon that comes to mind are Bisharp/Kingambit, Noivern, and Gardevoir. These guys have been my favorite trio since Gen 6. And it would be difficult to lose with the coverage that these three alone possess.
34:05 I absolutely love using skorupi in later gens with fell stinger, especially in pokerogue, because it gets fell stinger at level 6, and because both skorupi and drapion are tanky and fast enough to hold their own, they can get that setup real quick. Running impish nature on drapion as well With shell armor as its ability allows you to live hits so it can tear chunks out of a team of Pokémon if you allow it. I love my sinnoh scorpions ❤️
That fav six is what I always do. ❤ I know it’s a bad team but their just have always been my favorites. Venus, arc9, Rai-boom, starchild, Maverick and Grimm all gen 1 😂
Hey, Skypirate Girlfriends is showing up since the Dogs in Love video. Can't wait for that reaction, "Remember, we are thousands of feet in the air. Dudes Rock!" I *dare* you to get the context of that quote.

I'd love to try a Nuzlocke, but my favorite Pokémon is Seviper... Yeah, 1 Ground move or Psychic move and my run ends lmao. I'll probably do a Modded run to get him as a starter, but I think I can pull it off.
There's a lot. I took it Generation by Generation to have what understanding I do have. I'm still lost on Scarlet and Violet and some of the changes they made, but I just didn't really continue playing them after I finished the game.
I never got to play a Gen 3 game fully however I played both coliseum and gale of darkness it's today my favorite games and nothing really tops them also really should watch alpharad first nuzlocke please
It tests a different skillset. Grinding optimally, and efficiently, tests game knowledge and endurance. If you are able to reach your level cap without issue you test your mechanical knowledge.
yeah. this honestly seems like a fun challenge. if I were to make some sort of attempt at this. I'd like darkrai to be pre-nerf. yes darkrai is my fav, my number one favourite to be exact. this is entirely because of the movie he is in would you do something like this, if you could? edit: 47:50 probably because no one had it as a favourite. tho I didn't really give a good look so maybe someone did
Damn, Kip needs to see Alpharad's world famous nuzlocke and then watch Pokemon Challenges' equally legendary review of his performance.
"why is the mewtwo named onix" 💀
That’s what was shown, definitely, absolutely.

Tri-Attack goes hard.
You mentioned liking Whimsicot and Flutter Mane in an earlier video and I almost commented about Alpharad because they are some of his favorites.
They're just so good. They're also very cute.

That team he showed in the opening is from his first nuzlocke video. Something I hoghly recommend watching if you haven’t yet.
I really want to watch more of his videos! I'm really happy that more of the Pokemon reactions I've been doing are seeing success.

Vulpixie did a video on her side of the race, its quite funny, other decent runs she made is "to many types" and "pokerouge"

As a whimsicott enjoyer, I tip my hat to a likeminded whimsicott enjoyer. Prankster Whimsicott is fun times :)
